NAME(S) ON TILE: ROBERT AND AGNES ZADROZNY
DONOR NAME(S): ROBERTA AND JEANIE ZADROZNY
Dad was ten years old when grandpap, Stanley Zadrozny, handed him a basket of green onions grown on the family farm and sent him out to sell door-to-door in Mt. Oliver. Over the years, Dad was a high-pressure pipewelder at Dravo, served with honor and distinction in the Army during World War II, married Agnes Racki and together they built King’s Produce Company. The business is currently located at 17th and Smallman Streets. Dad did the buying and selling; Mom kept the books, paid the bills, did the banking, taxes, food stamps, and payroll.
Our parents never made headlines. Day-by-day, they fed countless college students and laborers, housed those “passing-by” and dedicated themselves to St. John Capistran Church in Upper St. Clair.
Their hard work, honesty and perseverance through bad times and generous sharing in good times were exemplary. They had enough love for everyone! Because of their example, my sister and I are now loving, caring adults. We are truly blessed to call them Mom and Dad.
Mom died in September 1992. We all miss her. She was kind and good to everyone and made the best baked goods and meals, all “from scratch.”
Dad carries on the family traditions now. Mom monitors from heaven. Jeanie and I help out whenever and wherever we are able. We are proud to be Bob and Pat Zadrozny’s daughters. We thank God for both of them every day.
