On 16 December we will be having an inter-flight Bubble Ball tournament from 1000hrs to 1400hrs.  A waiver form (in the ‘Forms and Files’ section) is required to be able to play.  Lunch is not provided, please bring your own.

FAMILY NIGHT

The 170 St. James RCACS Family Night will take place on Friday, December 22, 2017 at 1830-2100 hrs. All parents are welcome and encouraged to attend to learn and participate in all aspects of the cadet life ranging from drill, dress, to survival and marksmanship. Dress for all cadets will be in appropriate civilian attire and Christmas themed outfits are encouraged, as the event is days before Christmas! There will be available prizes to be won for all cadets and parents, as well delicious catering. Any questions, and dietary restrictions may be directed to FSgt(s) Evan Chan and Nicholas Lu.

LEADERSHIP APPOINTMENT COMPETITIONS

Regretfully, we need to extend our leadership appointment competition into the New Year in order to give us time to complete selection boards. . Therefore, new positions will be announced at the end of January.

Just to reiterate, the following appointments are/will be available:

Selections to these positions will likely cause a ripple effect and create vacancies to all other leadership appointments including Flt 2IC. If you are interested in any of these positions, please contact Capt Tardi by email to ryan.tardi@cadets.gc.ca NLT 26 Jan 18.

The Drum Major position--which is a 1 year tem (Feb to Jan)—will be up for transition at the end of January. It is preferred that cadets be members of Hornet Flight, however, this opportunity will be open to any cadet of the squadron. Please contact FSgt C Caldarola for details.

Flag Party positions (except FP Comd) will also be up for transition at the end of January and are also 1 year terms. These positions are open to any cadet in the squadron in levels 1 to 3. For details, please contact WO2 Dhillon.

MARKSMANSHIP TEAM SELECTION

Capt Boxshall would like to thank all the cadets who came out to try out for the 170 Marksmanship Teams.  Only six junior cadets could make the team. She appreciated all the efforts from each cadet during tryouts.  Please make sure you come out again next year and keep practicing.
