Mach 30 #EngineerSpeak Hangout July 30, 2015
Discussion Topic: Sprint 2 Stand Up 1
Attending: J, Jeremy, Chris, Aaron, Ethan, Juli, Greg
Start: 22:05
End: 2315
Executive Summary:
Sprint 2 is underway. This past week the #EngineerSpeak team started work on a document summarizing key data for 3D printer filaments and they started work on upgrading MTK to use IPython based on the lessons learned during the last sprint. Both of these tasks will continue this week.
Minutes:
- Did - Completed YVN-09 (add abstract to report) including drafting the abstract, typesetting updated report, and posting updated report to forums.
- Will do - MTK-09 with Chris, and resolve the “how are we getting IPython onto systems?” question
- Blocks? - on a business trip through Sat, Sunday is my next available day to work and I will probably be resting up from my business trip
- Did - took on working on materials list PBI (YVN-15), set up a spreadsheet for this report, started porting content into the spreadsheet (~15% done)
- Will do - continue working on YVN-15
- Blocks? - has a presentation at NASA Ames on Monday, with draft due tomorrow; so should be freed up after presentation is given Monday morning
- Did - worked on MTK-07 (reproducing the MTK test 3, units with Pint); was able to use Pint, and was able to implement all of the individual parts, but has not integrated all of the parts because the markdown formatting in IPython notebooks does not really have high levels of formatting (might need our own custom stylesheet to manage the markdown rendering); should add a PBI for MTK presentation (there may be some plugins that will address some or all of our rendering issues)
- Will do - MTK-09 with J
- Blocks? - not sure how much free time will be available to work on this
- Did - supposed to work on CQ-01 (curves in CQ) and supported install script; got the curve working correctly, found two more PBIs
- Will do - working on the MTK installer
- Blocks? - none on CQ, but will on the new PBIs; blocked on installer because there is no consensus on how we should be installing IPython
- <added three CQ PBIs and an MTK PBI - MTK PBI was added to the sprint to support the rest of the sprint>
- J & Chris - <discussed MTK-09 background work (forum post on Notebook Plugins, Slack comment on getting Notebook plugins>
- Jeremy - posting the Slack comment to the installer forum thread
- <looked at getting Notebook plugins working; Chris needs to get with J about what his environment has and Jeremy needs to look at what is required in the installer to get PDF export working>
