Tournament Notes:

Game One:

Harold Enslin hit a double to bring in 2 runs. Howard Gehring hit a 3 run home run. Ken Zollner RF, Stan Rath LC, and Jim Black LF, all made terrific catches. Jim Christman came from 3rd to almost home plate to make a catch on a fly ball. Stan Rath caught a ball in the face and had to leave the game.

Game Two:

Jim Black, Emerson Davies, and Harold Enslen all came out swinging and hit 2 doubles and a triple to score a 5 run inning with Harvey Moch Bringing in the 5th. Gord Deibert hit a triple in the third to score a run. Team 70 also scored 5 runs in the last inning. Emerson Davies, playing rover, caught a low line drive and everyone is thinking that was the play of the game. 2 Batters later Gord Deibert makes a great catch of his own to match Emerson’s. Gord Deibert and Terry Pederson  pulled off 2 double plays to keep up the strong defense.

Game Three:

We came out of the dug out and fell flat on our face after the other team had scored 5 runs. We did manage to pull out 2 runs, though they followed that up with 4 of their own. Thinking we had them where we wanted them, we were unable to come up with any runs.

Game Four:

The team came out swinging this game and scored 5 runs without recording an out in the first inning. The Patriots got men on both 1st and 2nd, but a double play ended any threat as the game away with 0. The second inning had Team 70 scoring 4 runs, and then followed that up by catching 3 fly balls to once again hold them to 0 runs. We came up with 1 more run in the 3rd, but then the Patriots got things going and scored 5 runs with no outs. Team 70 answered back with 5 of their own. The patriots then scored 4 before recording the first out. Scoring 8 runs in the open end, Team 70 walked away with their 6th win in a week.

Game Five:

The boys came to play, but things did not work out for them. .

Game Six:

We started with 3 on base, but could not get them in. The only shine in the game was a Great triple by Jim Christmann.

Team 70 would like to give a big thank you to both Jim Christmann and Terry Pederson who have retired with this last game.

The team won 6 out of 10 games on the road.
