 It is time to celebrate

For Antonia and her daughter Ela's joint 100th birthday - and AlmaOhana’s 2nd year of existence! - we want to invite you for a long weekend of joy, dance, co-creation and delicious food and life.

Come join us from the 26th till 29th of May for celebrating what was, what is and what is yet to come.

Together with you we want to co-create a sweet program of workshops, music, art making, body moving, joy being, learning and unlearning. If you have a special skill, some funky knowledge or a heartfelt passion to share, please get in touch!

Friday 26.5.

Arrival from noon onwards

Opening circle & introduction to the collaborative program

Saturday & Sunday 27. & 28. 5.

2 full days of shared joy, skill sharing, love explosion, delicious, delicious food and nights of dancing. Get ready for some tree caring, clay building, body painting, vegan treats making and some juicy shows!

Some workshops and classes will be fixed already beforehand and others will be scheduled right then and there. As this is a co-creative event, we will get to do and learn whatever you and you and I offer to share!

Monday 29. 5.

Morning with movement, maybe singing - workshops being offered as they will!

Closing with a picnic and fire on the beach.

Theme

Bring your most colorful, extravaganza, silly, misfit outfits! Dare to dress up or dress down, this is our time to enjoy! Nothing is too wild or too boring! You do you!

Program and offerings

Please get in touch if you want to offer something (and please offer something :) Again: the festival is what you and I make of it!)

Everyone will have to sign up for some karmic clean-up and cooking shifts so that we all get to spend a nourishing time together ♥

 If you'd like to sell some beautiful things or services (hand made things, tattooing….) please let us know!

Getting there and sleeping

There will be tents and camping space available. Bring your own tent or van if you have, or let us know if you will need a bed in one of our Lotus Belle tents or dorm. An other option is to rent an Airbnb/room in Odemira or Sao Luis.

Parking space is limited - we will organize a few pick ups from Odemira if you come by public transport (which we highly support!).

Please let us know in the registration form which kind of accomodation you will choose.

Our land is located between Odemira and São Luís, very close to the beautiful Pego das Pias. There are 4 daily busses from Lisbon to Odemira where we can pick you up. The closest train station is Funcheira from where you can book a taxi.

You will receive the exact location at booking!

Food

There will be dinner on Friday, brunch and dinner on Saturday and Sunday and breakfast and late lunch pick-nick on Monday. Snacks will be available throughout the day.

All meals will be plant-based, made with best ingredients from the region and organic as much as possible. Gluten-free, sugar-free options will always be available.

Contribution and gifts 

Participation in the festival incl food:

Normal: 110€

If you need support: 80€

If you can support: 140€

Camping:

In your own tent/van 5€/person/day

In AlmaOhanas tent/dorm 12€/person/day

All profit goes directly to our regenerative project! At the moment this means financing the process of getting our building permits so our project can become the ecovillage we dream for it to be. We need to pay architects, topographers and municipality taxes with a total cost of approx 15 000€. The earnings of the festival will help pay some of these costs.

Obviously we prefer you come for the whole festival to create a beautiful mood and bond between the group. We also understand that life is life and if you can make it only for a day or two, that is possible also. Normal 40€, need of support 30€, giving support 50€ per person and day incl. meals and snacks.

For our birthdays, we wish for an easeful continuation of our lives and dreams. So if you want to gift us something please bring delicious cakes and some extra cash to donate to AlmaOhana :)

If you want to donate time please come early and stay longer to help build and take down this adventure! We will need to build a couple of extra dry toilets and a shower, make spots for the big tents and put them up. Please bring your helping hands some days before the festival starts! And/or wind down with us after and help clean up and take down some tents :)

Kids

Kids are most welcome! :) As with everything else, there will be a kids program if someone offers that :)

Please keep your beloved pets at home for this one. Thank you!

Connection to the earth & Conscious consumption

As many of you know, part of our dreaming is to live in a regenerative culture. For us this includes a reciprocal and loving relationship to the earth that gives us life. We invite you to take time to connect with the land and all living beings that will surround you here. As much as we ask to respect one another we ask to respect the magnificent nature we are part of. Please do your best to minimize trash (avoid excessive packaging, no glitter,...) and please use only biodegradable soaps/shampoo when you come.

We do not forbid alcohol and co  but we’d like to point out one of our core values: conscious consumption. We apply this to the way we buy and also to what we use and how. Our home and land is a kids friendly environment and everyone needs to be able to safe 💕
