Waukesha County Green Team launches new website

Waukesha, Wis. - August 1, 2017 - Waukesha County Green Team (WCGT), a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization focused on promoting sustainability in Waukesha County, Wis. communities, is proud to introduce it’s updated website, www.waukeshacountygreenteam.org.

The relaunched WCGT website provides a more intuitive navigation, a refreshed design and additional resources.

“We were at the tipping of point of usefulness with our original website.  As our services and offerings grow, so does the amount of information to communicate through our website,” Stacey Balsley, board member and Waukesha County Green Team president said.

The updated website was made possible with a grant issued by Waukesha County Community Foundation (WCCF). Funds provided by the WCCF grant allowed the Waukesha County Green Team the ability to implement new features on the website for more community engagement.

This new  “Community Outreach” section includes access to resources and materials for community members to use to promote sustainable practices, including WCGT-developed One Simple Act EcoAction Challenge cards, Community Outreach educational displays and  materials for organizing community discussion circles .

The One Simple Act EcoAction Challenge cards will also be made available for digital download.

“Our community outreach initiative, Changing Habits for a Greener Community, really drove the need to update,” Balsley said. “Through this initiative, we have developed interactive resources for easy access to anyone.  Part of the ease is being able to order resources through our website. Our grant request to WCCF had multiple layers to enhance Changing Habits for a Greener Community and we are extremely grateful they chose to support updating our website.”

In addition, individual pages for each of WCGT’s focus groups -- including the Permaculture & Gardening group, Sussex Green Team, and Wales Green Team -- were developed to provide members of these groups with a platform to share information and events.

The updated website also features links to additional educational resources, a calendar of upcoming community events, and more details about ongoing WCGT-organized projects.
