Morning Programme is part of our Oral Language programme in the Middle Room.  We try to improve our listening and speaking skills through a variety of interesting tasks.

To enable you to improve your Oral Language skills through morning Programme, you need to be well prepared each week. Ask for help, in advance, if you need it. Try to practice speaking clearly and confidently at home, to keep your presentation interesting.  Remember to think about who, what, where, when, why and how when you are preparing your talk. It might be a good idea to have your talk written down on paper or little cards if you like so that you can refer to this when you are talking. Doing this will help with your confidence.

Over the year everyone in our class will show huge improvement with their oral language skills due to all the practice you are going to be doing with morning programme.

Morning programme begins in week two..

Remember – enjoy and have fun!

Current Events

Present news in your own words from the newspaper, internet, T.V. or radio that has been prepared and discussed at home. Think about who was involved?  What happened?  When did it happen? Where did it happen? Why did it happen? How did it happen?  You need to be able to understand what the news is about so that your audience is kept interested. REMEMBER to use your own words.

My Choice

Bring along anything that you would like to share with the class. For example it could be personal news or a show and tell item.

If I was Prime Minister

What would the country be like if you were Prime Minister? What would you change? What rules would you have?

Art Appreciation

You can choose to tell us about something from any of the arts- Music, Dancing, Painting etc. You could tell us about your favourite song at the moment or maybe you would like to show us a painting or drawing you have done or admired.

My wish for the future

What does your dream life look like? What job would you have? Where would you live?

Animals

Pick an animal and tell us about it. It could be a really unique animal that not many people have heard of. You could tell us what it looks like, where you would find it, what it eats, what it does and any other interesting facts or information. You could make a small presentation like a Pic Collage or google presentation and talk to us about it.

Olden Days

Choose something from the olden days to tell us about. It could be an old item you have found at home or perhaps talk about how something has changed over the years.

My favourite

Tell us about your favourite pet, singer, book or anything you can think of! Why is it your favourite?
