Messrs. Thomas Agnew & Sons,

42, Old Bond Street, W.1.

31st October, 1932.

Dear Sirs,

I have just received a letter from Mrs. L. de Ridder, Schönberg, bei Frankfurt a/M., Germany,[1] enclosing the photographs which I send you herewith. She and her late husband[2] were once very wealthy people, and I painted them about thirty-four years ago [111072][111071], but have not met them since. He had a famous collection, of which you may have heard, the majority were sold some years ago in Paris. Apparently Mrs. de Riddler is still in possession of a remnant of the collection, which she is now obliged to sell.

She has sent me on the enclosed photographs, descriptions of which you will find on the back of each, and as I am very busy, and do not wish to have any connection with the business side of the matter, I address myself to you. In case you are interested, will you please communicate direct with Mrs. Ridder. You will see on the back of each photograph the price she expects for the pictures, but no doubt if you should make offers she will remember these prices.

Hoping to hear from you,

I am,

Yours faithfully,

SMDL
