HURRICANE MICHAEL 2018

PET FOOD/SUPPLIES COLLECTION/DISTRIBUTION SITES

FOR FLORIDA

***Please note that these are temporary collection and distribution sites.

Contact each before going to confirm current inventory

and whether they are still operational.***

File created for SOUTHEASTERN US ANIMAL RESCUE DISASTER HELP

If you know of any sites that should be included

please pm Dawn Algieri via facebook or post to our page.

These sites are for dog/cat and other small animal supplies.

For equine, livestock and farm animal assistance:

In #HurricaneMichael zone? Need supply, meals, tarps, shelter, pet help? Have stuff+want to know where to go? See public supply tab.

ZRR-Hurricane Michael-PUblic

For parrots, some exotics, sugargliders, guinea pigs etc

Contact Christine Wood Christineschopshop@gmail.com

We suggest the following for those sites distributing directly to the public:

  1. Ration the amount of dry food distributed to individuals, providing 3-5 days worth.
  2. Repacking large bags of dry pet food into gallon ziplock bags allows for rationing and protects the food from the elements and insects.
  3. Rationing also prevents certain individuals from seeking to make a profit by reselling those supplies.

• Donate Pet Food and Supplies

LCHS is currently a main staging organization in Tallahassee for pet food and supply donations headed for the affected areas. We will be accepting pet food donations for the next several weeks. This includes food/feed for cats, dogs, horses and other livestock, birds, reptiles, etc.

We are also accepting gallon Ziploc bags to save the receiving locations the time-consuming task of rationing the food brought in. If you want to help with transport, we would welcome gas cards, but we are currently fully outfitted with delivery drivers.

Donations can be dropped off around the clock. If you bring supplies outside of our regular hours, please leave them on our covered front porch.
