Position:  School Psychologist (Full-Time)


The School Psychologist at SkyView Academy (SVA) is responsible for providing expertise and direct services in the area of student mental health and educational psychology.  The School Psychologist will be seen as a resource for administrators and teachers with regard to mental health and social emotional interventions and strategies.  He or she works with the Executive Director and other members of the Administrative Team to assess school-wide adherence to the SVA vision and mission and to set short- and long-term goals for the school.

  • Participate in weekly team meetings
  • Conduct and/or lead IEP initial, annual and triennial meetings
  • Administer comprehensive learning evaluations and report results in IEPs and verbally in meetings
  • Assist in the identification and programming for students with disabilities.
  • Manage and implement Behavior Plans, assessments, and reinforcements
  • Communicate regularly with Learning Specialists and School Leadership about caseload
  • Maintain proper documentation regarding IEPs, CSAP accommodations, and parent/teacher communications
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and ISS staff regarding IEP students
  • Establish conditions under which students exercise self-discipline, integrity, leadership and citizenship.
  • Establish clear expectations for student behavior.
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience and Knowledge:

  • A minimum of a Master’s Degree in School Psychology or Related Field; hold a current Colorado Department of Education Special Services License as a School Psychologist
  • Good diagnostic skills
  • Excellent recording skills including report writing and record keeping
  • Proficient in the use of technology
  • Demonstrates skill in crisis assessment and intervention.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of Response To Intervention
  • Demonstrates knowledge of developmental needs of students PreK - 12.
  • Demonstrates understanding and empathy necessary for working with students.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills in regards to student progress to student, parent/guardian and staff.

  • Dedication to being a respectable leader and role model at the school and within the community
