MULTIPLE SCHOLARSHIPS, list can be found below.        Only one application needs completed to compete for

Troopers Patterson & Richey Memorial Scholarship: This scholarship is for any graduating senior from any Venango County School who has plans to pursue a career in law enforcement or criminal justice. Financial need, academic achievement, and community involvement will be considered when awarding the scholarship. Here is a link to a website with more details: www.pattersonrichey.org

Applied Technology Scholarship: This Fund was established by Venango County in order to provide a permanent endowment to provide financial assistance to select students enrolled in the Applied Technology at Venango Campus of Clarion University of Pennsylvania; and therefore, to support economic growth in Venango County by helping grow a technology trained workforce. The eligibility requirements for this scholarship include: residency in Venango County, PA for at least two years prior to application, graduation from high school, applicant must be pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree in the Venango Campus of Clarion University of Pennsylvania Applied Technology Program, and have completed at least six (6) credits or two courses of the AT Program with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0, completion of any required internship or relevant work experience with a company located in Venango County, PA, begin employment in Venango County within six (6) months after completion of studies and remain employed in Venango County one year for each year that the scholarship was awarded, and finally, apply for a Federal Pell grant and Pennsylvania State Grant.

Jeremy Coast Memorial Scholarship-519Strong: Established in memory of Jeremy Coast, this fund is to provide scholarships for students that have graduated from Venango, Clarion, Forest, and Mercer counties who are attending an accredited university, college, community college or technical school. The Scholarship Committee considers the following when awarding a scholarship: the student has overcome adversity in their life and has sustained a positive attitude throughout the adversity and general worthiness as a student.

Janet L. Henc Scholarship: This scholarship is for high school graduates who are consistent attendees of the Galloway United Methodist Church and who will be continuing their secular education at a four (4) year college or university.

Margery L. Himes Memorial Scholarship: Applicants must be a graduating senior of any Venango County or Clarion County High School. Career path preference, financial need, likelihood of success as a college or university or trade school, and participation in community and extracurricular activities are considered.

John R. Loeffler Memorial Golf Scholarship: This scholarship is for any Venango County, Titusville High School, AC Valley High School, or Clarion Area High School graduate who is proficient in the sport of golf and has plans to attend a college or university with a golf team.

Oil City Lodge #78 Loyal Order of Moose Scholarship: This scholarship is for any natural, adopted, or step-children of a member of Oil City Lodge #78 Loyal Order of Moose Club. All scholarships will be awarded based on need.

Steven B. Rood Scholarships: These scholarships will be awarded to one (1) female and one (1) male senior at any Venango County high school who demonstrate leadership and academic achievement and have plans to attend an accredited technical, vocational or trade school, certification program, or college that is less than a four (4) year program.

Young Wood Scholarship: This scholarship is for students whose high school grades were in the upper twenty (20%) percent of their high school class for at least two years prior to their graduation from high school. The Scholarship Committee will also consider financial need when selecting applicants.

Remember Roy E. Sanner Memorial Scholarship: This scholarship is for any graduating senior at Rocky Grove High School or Cranberry High School who has been enrolled at either for at least three (3) years and has plans to attend an accredited 2 or 4 year college or university. The Scholarship Committee will consider demonstration leadership, work ethic, commitment, and sportsmanship in the RGHS or CHS athletic programs, school environment, and community when awarding the scholarship.

Susan L. Daniels Memorial Scholarship: This scholarship is for any current senior at Rocky Grove or Franklin High School who has done the most to better both the music department and themselves during their high school career. Applicants must plan to attend a college, university, or school of music.

Franklin Rotary – Jay French Miller Scholarship: This scholarship is for any graduating senior at Franklin or Rocky Grove High Schools who has plans to attend a college, university, or technical school and has demonstrated outstanding community service and high academic achievement during their high school career.

Pennsylvania Association of Medical Suppliers (PAMS) Scholarship                        April 7, 2017

A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a deserving student who has overcome physical challenges with the help of home medical equipment such as wheelchairs, respiratory, diabetes or asthma devices, etc.  The applicant must be a resident of PA or Delaware, a high school student and all monies must be used toward post-high school education.

                        

Pennsylvania Land Surveyor’s Foundation Scholarship                                        April 10, 2017

Applicant must be enrolled in or accepted in either a 2-year Surveying Technology Program or a 4-year ABET Accredited Program in Land Surveying.  Applications can be found in the Guidance Office.

AADE (American Association of Drilling Engineers)        Scholarship                                April 15, 2017

There are twenty (20), $1,000 scholarships available to outstanding students in the Tri-State area (PA, OH, WV).  The candidate must have a GPA of 3.5 or above, minimum ACT score of 27 OR SAT score of 600 in Math and 600 in critical reading/writing, enrolled in a college in PA, OH or WV.  Visit the following website to apply:  http://www.aade.org/chapters/appalachian-basic/

*All three of the above listed scholarships can be applied for by completing a single application.  Student must be from Rocky Grove, Franklin or VC high schools and in the top 1/3 of their graduating class.

Northwest PA National Tooling and Machining Association Scholarships                        April 20, 2017

There are several scholarships available through the NWPA NTMA Education Foundation ranging from $500-$4,000 per scholarship.  Students may apply for more than one scholarship with one Application.  Obtain more information and apply online at  http://nwpa-ntma.com/scholarships.

Marine Corps League – Captain R.L. Green Detachment Scholarship                         April 21, 2017

Offered through Titusville HS for RGHS students. Son, daughter or grandchild of a R.L. Green Detachment member OR son or daughter of any Marine who has earned honorable discharge.  Passing grades required – no minimum GPA.

Student View Scholarship                                                                        April 22, 2017

One $4,000, Two $1,000 and Ten $500 scholarships awarded.  No minimum SAT/ACT score or GPA, no essay required, no application form, no application fee.  Complete a 15-20 minute survey about colleges in your area at www.student-view.com.  Scholarships will be randomly drawn for award.  Winners will be announced in May.  More information can be found at www.studentsinsight.com

Electralloy Essay Contest                                                                        April 26, 2017

There will be four (4), $500 awards available to seniors in Venango County Schools.  All entries should be submitted to Mrs. Beightol by the deadline.  Essays should be typed or handwritten (typed is preferred) and between 400-500 words.  Essay topic: If you had the chance to have a 30-minute conversation with a person in human history (either living or deceased), who would be the person you choose and why?  What topics would you discuss with this person?

Kirtland Cancer Foundation                                                                        May 1, 2017

Up to seven college scholarships in the amount of $1000 each will be available to area schools to a student who is a cancer patient, cancer survivor and/or have an immediate family member (mother, father, daughter, son, or siblings) with cancer. In addition, the applicant must be a US citizen and currently attending or scheduled to attend an accredited university, junior college, trade school, and/or graduate school. Mechanical Contractors Association                                                                May 1, 2017

  1. Meet all deadlines.
  2. If you need a transcript for a scholarship let Mrs. Beightol know ASAP.
  3. Check into the schools you are applying to.  Many of them offer their own scholarships.
  4. Please ask teachers/counselors/etc…for recommendation letters at least one week ahead of time.  If you do not hear from them keep asking them to complete the letter.  YOU MUST MEET DEADLINES.
