This document is meant for the users of this server to compile our thoughts and speculation around the characters and maps that are coming for each of Marvel Rivals’s upcoming seasons. Feel free to replace any “a”s here with actual evidence, as they are merely placeholders for it. Thank you!

Season 10:

Characters:

Character 1:

  • Gorr
  • Soft-confirmed, as per the And Then They Were None gallery card.

Character 2:

  • Nightcrawler
  • Leaked through file numbers previously.
  • In addition, Nightcrawler was re-identified under the 1069 ID slot (the one following The Hood and Gorr) at the start of Season 9, suggesting his addition to the game in the very near future.
  • Directly teased through unreleased interactions he has with the Thing, which occupy the same ID listed above.
  • Mentioned by Berrigan in an outline of possible season storylines (being the hypothetical main protagonist of a Legion of X-inspired season), suggesting that they may be added to the game in the near future.
  • Mentioned in one of Danny Koo’s polls, winning his own (for blue characters, against Mystique, Nebula, and Maggott) by a wide margin.
  • While poll characters have been largely dismissed by Miller as coming this year, the changes that occurred to this season partway through (with Dominic Fortune being scrapped) may have led to his addition being pushed ahead of schedule, lining up with him being a previously-leaked character.
  • Already mentioned in lore as one of the X-Men lost in the multiverse.
  • B-Tier.
  • Could arguably wind up as a Strategist, with Miller saying there is a large amount of them coming this year.
  • Would line up with the release of Avengers: Doomsday and its accompanying PVE mode.
  • Is a popular X-Men rep, with characters from it being something that the devs actively want (as per Miller stating the devs will “never run out of” mutants to add) and is something being actively pushed by Marvel.
  • Would be a fitting character to add in continuation to Season 9’s storyline, given how it heavily involves Apocalypse and his influence.
  • Also would be a fitting character to add for the collapsed timeline, given the dichotomy between him being a staunch Catholic involved in a plot on a cosmic scale.

Settings/Maps:

  • Thebes (Part 2)
  • Has already been recapped in Rivals’ lore, with Season 9’s storyline focusing on it directly.
  • Would resolve an ongoing thread in Rivals’ storylines, given the fact Gorr remains actively killing gods.
  • Would fit the current structure of plotlines introduced in Marvel Rivals, with Seasons 6 and 8 acting as continuations of plotlines started in their immediate predecessor (Seasons 5 and 7).
  • The Black World/Gorr’s Citadel
  • Linked through the storyline of Season 9, with Gorr dragging the critically-wounded Khonshu and the Faith-Harvested Engine with him after the truth surrounding Apocalypse’s death was revealed.
  • Also would be a fitting location to add to properly feature the collapsed timeline, given its nature as a world ravaged by a “war of gods and demons”.
  • Possibly teased through an unreleased voiceline for Hela to another character discussing the God Bomb, with the Black World being the location that the device was constructed.
  • Is a location from the Thor sub-series, with both NetEase and Chinese fans having a noted favoritism towards Asgardian content.
  • Also serves as the location in which Gorr maintained his base of operations in Thor: God of Thunder, with Gorr being all but revealed to be coming in Season 10.
  • Could reasonably tie into the plot point of the Eternity Mask being stolen from Kingpin’s vault, given how Gorr’s MCU depiction wanted to reach Eternity to wish for the deaths of all gods in existence.
  • The Eighth City
  • Would fit Gorr’s character arc as an antagonist, given his direct targeting of divine figures similar to the ones imprisoned within the Heavenly City.
  • Also works as a point of interest given the defeat of Yinglong and the Faith-Harvesting Engine remaining active, with the Eighth City now being at risk of a full-blown assault.
  • Would help represent Asia (and specifically China) as a whole, something NetEase is actively working on providing.

Season 11:

Characters:

Character 1:

  • Doctor Doom
  • Mentioned by Betrigan in an outline of possible season storylines (being the hypothetical main antagonist of a Secret Wars-inspired season), suggesting that they may be added to the game in the near future.
  • Before the story for the game was written with him as the main antagonist, Doctor Doom occupied the 1019 ID slot.
  • Alongside the above, the ID spot of 1069 (added at the start of Season 9, and following Gorr and Nightcrawler) has been noted to contain IDs for both duelist and vanguard alongside a free flight ability, which could suggest Doctor Doom may be added as the game's second triple-role character.
  •  In addition, while 1069 was not listed with a strategist role at first, Miller has confirmed that strategist villains can and will happen should the situation call for one, with Doom providing the first, reasonable opportunity for such to happen soon.
  • A-Tier.
  • Would line up with the release of Avengers: Doomsday and its accompanying PVE mode.
  • A very popular and heavily teased character, which would bring attention to this season.
  • A popular villain, with Miller stating we would see some being added soon.
  • Would fit as a character to signify the end/climax of the game's first hypothetical story arc.
  • Captain Marvel
  • Leaked through unreleased interactions.
  • Said interactions were later re-added to the game’s files at the start of Season 9, arguably suggesting that the devs are actively working on Captain Marvel for release in the near future.
  • Directly mentioned in lore as of Season 3, with Rocket Raccoon referencing her lineage and its Nega-Bands in his second hero story.
  • Arguably teased through the Brood appearing in Season 6, alongside mentions of Chandilar (to which the Shi’ar have ties to Captain Marvel) being abandoned due to them.
  • The ID spot of 1069 (added at the start of Season 9, and following Gorr and Nightcrawler) has been noted to contain IDs for both duelist and vanguard alongside a free flight ability, both of which work well for Captain Marvel.
  • The dual role, meanwhile, could suggest the devs are presently uncertain about the role Carol will actually be, especially if paired with Doctor Doom as a vanguard.
  • Mentioned by Betrigan in an outline of possible season storylines (being a possible character to add for a War of the Realms-inspired season), suggesting that they may be added to the game in the near future.
  • A-Tier.
  • Would line up with the teased Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame-themed PVE modes.
  • In addition, Captain Marvel can reasonably have a role in Avengers: Doomsday, with Miller mentioning that a character added in Year 2 will make a surprise appearance in it.
  • A “very” cosmic character was mentioned by Miller to be coming soon.
  • Miller has mentioned characters being released alongside comic events or milestones, to which Ms. Marvel (Vol. 1) #1 (Carol’s superpowered debut) will celebrate its 50th anniversary shortly after Season 10’s release.

Character 2:

  • Dracula
  • Leaked through unreleased interactions with Jubilee and Elsa Bloodstone found in the third week of Season 9.
  • Arguably teased by Miller in a stream he had on August 7th, 2026, in which he distinctly mentioned that certain villains will appear in the game in non-playable roles (such as Dracula) before being promoted into playable characters.
  • Would be a fitting character to add given what we know regarding Season 11’s original lack of characters, as their development would likely be made quite easy given existing assets (well-developed character model, pre-existing move ideas to pull from, and a smaller [and thus, not very busy] VA to pull from).
  • While such could be indicative of another PVE mode being added in its place, the slated discontinuation of Blood Hunt in October would align with Dracula’s addition in S11 as well, helping to make his transition from boss to playable character less jarring.
  • Would also be a fitting character for NetEase to develop in order for them to test out public reception towards them promoting NPCs in the future, considering the fact Dracula’s role as a recurring seasonal antagonist, the fact their status as a smaller character would dissuade biased receptions to their promotion, and said status would help in not overshadowing Doctor Doom.
  • Is a relatively prominent supernatural rep, with NetEase being an active fan of the corner of Marvel in general.
  • Would be a somewhat fitting character to signify the hypothetical end/climax of the game's first story arc, helping to bookend its plot through the recurring presence of Dracula.
  • In turn, Dracula's ascension to a playable role could also be excused in-game as a last resort taken by the heroes in an effort to stop the two Dooms’ reign, resurrecting the once-slain vampire in order to assist them.
  • Should Doctor Doom be a triple-role character, would be a fitting character to add given their natural fit into the vanguard role, helping to end the year with a complete cycle of 1-1-1.
  • Shuri
  • Would be a fitting character to add given what we know regarding Season 11’s original lack of characters, as their development would likely be made quite easy given existing assets (well-developed character model, and a smaller [and thus, not very busy] VA to pull from).
  • This sudden switch, in turn, could have also been inspired by the criticism NetEase faced for Moon Girl’s reduced focus.
  • Is featured prominently in an arc of the infinity comic as a member of the Champions (to which is set to be represented by an in-game spray at some unknown point), which could suggest that NetEase has plans to utilize the team soon.
  • In addition, such would help in helping give Devil Dinosaur a trait they can represent themselves under (as he is the only character in the game to lack a trait entirely), being a member of the team alongside Moon Girl.
  • Would line up with the release of Avengers: Doomsday and its accompanying PVE mode.
  • Would fit as a character to signify the hypothetical end/climax of the game's first story arc, given their role as a major background character in previous seasons.
  • Would serve as a female POC rep, something NetEase is actively working on providing.

Settings/Maps:

  • Latveria
  • Would fit in a season seeking to bring Doctor Doom as a playable character, given his rule over the country.
  • If Dracula comes in this season, could also fit then due to it being an Eastern European country like Romania (i.e., Transylvania) and Ukraine (with Dracula setting up a nation-state in the ruins of Chernobyl and Pripyat, Vampyrsk, in the comics).
  • The Timestream
  • Would fit as a climactic “final boss” arena to close out the game's first hypothetical story arc.
  • Chandilar
  • Named directly in the title of Magik’s second hero story, alongside being directly stated to have been overrun by the Brood in Deadpool’s first.
  • The Brood have since made their first appearance in Season 6, being one of the creatures Deadpool had to liberate.
  • Could potentially fit with its rumored characters through direct ties (them being a major cosmic power for Captain Marvel and Shuri; holding major political/scientific power for Doctor Doom).

Season 12:

  • Web-Warrior rep:
  • Mentioned by Doof's insider as coming soon.
  • Directly teased by MultiverSusie when directly asked about Spider-Man reps, stating that Peter and Peni will “reunite with a couple of friends” in the near future.
  • Miles Morales
  • Arguably teased through the “Bloody Expectations” graffiti in the Clobberin’ Club.
  • A-Tier.
  • If released in 2027, would be considered movie synergy, with Beyond the Spider-Verse releasing later that year.
  • Easily the most popular Web-Warrior after Peter, and can be easily made distinct through his unique abilities.
  • Explicitly confirmed by developers to be too significant to merely be a costume for Peter.
  • Seen by both the devs and Miller as a matter of when, not if.
  • Would serve as a POC and specifically Latin rep, something NetEase is actively working on providing.
  • Spider-Gwen/Ghost-Spider
  • Arguably teased through her drum set appearing in Tokyo 2099: Spider-Islands and Times Square’s Dance Hall.
  • B-Tier.
  • If released in 2027, would be considered movie synergy, with Beyond the Spider-Verse releasing later that year.
  • Is the third most-used Web-Warrior in media following the main two, and the one most associated with the Spider-Verse as a concept.
  • Explicitly confirmed by developers to be too significant to merely be a costume for Peter.
  • Spider-Man 2099
  • Teased through appearing in mural art for Gwen’s band in Tokyo 2099: Spider-Islands and on a computer terminal in Alchemax Headquarters (the latter of which explicitly stating that he is lost in the multiverse).
  • If released in 2027, would be considered movie synergy, with Beyond the Spider-Verse releasing later that year.
  • Would serve as a natural addition due to the 2099 timeline’s role as a major chronoverse, alongside adding an interesting dichotomy between himself/Nueva York and Peni/Tokyo 2099.
  • Would serve as a POC and specifically Latin rep, something NetEase is actively working on providing.

Character 2:

  • Dazzler
  • Leaked through unreleased interactions with Jubilee revealed within the second week of Season 9.
  • Seemingly teased by MultiverSusie when directly asked about her chances in the future, suggesting that she will be added to Marvel Rivals in the near future.
  • Additionally confirmed by MatFacio in the wake of Susie’s Misty Knight tweet, stating that she was slated to be the first hero released for Year 3 as of June-July 2026.
  • Is referenced in-game via a poster for one of her shows appearing in Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown.
  • Is a semi-popular X-Men rep, with characters from it being something that the devs actively want (as per Miller stating the devs will “never run out of” mutants to add) and is something being actively pushed by Marvel.
  • Would line up with a possible second wave of Disco Revolution costumes, with Dazzler both inspiring the variant comics the theme is inspired from in the first place and providing a secondary reason for more costumes to be made (outside of celebrating Luna Snow’s birthday, which could grow tiresome if it’s the only reason for more costumes to be made).
  • Could be reasonably considered “cunty”, with Miller stating that several female characters of that description are set to be added soon.
  • If coming alongside Doctor Doom, would provide a suitable character to pair with a release of his caliber, both in terms of their actual presence (being a much-less known character guaranteed to not steal his thunder, while being likely to draw attention due to her looks) and their past history with Doom as a character (facing off against Doctor Doom in their solo comic’s third-ever issue).

Settings/Maps:

  • Latveria
  • Would fit in a season seeking to bring Doctor Doom as a playable character, given his rule over the country.
  • The Timestream
  • Would fit as a climactic “final boss” arena to close out the game's first hypothetical story arc.
  • Web of Life and Destiny
  • Would make sense as the next place for the Tokyo 2099 subplot to go (as the power struggle between Spider-Zero and the Master-Weaver is still ongoing), being the former domain of the Inhibitors and the current headquarters of the Web-Warriors.
  • Loomworld
  • Leaked in the files previously.

Misc./Undetermined:

Characters:

  • Misty Knight
  • Directly teased by MultiverSusie in a Twitter post about Overwatch/Marvel Rivals character similarities, comparing her hypothetical moveset to Doomfist’s.
  • Was additionally confirmed by MatFacio as being slated for a September release next year, as of June-July 2026.
  • Would serve as a female POC rep, something NetEase is actively working on providing.
  • Would also serve as the first black vanguard should their role remain the same
  • Could be reasonably considered “cunty”, with Miller stating that several female characters of that description are set to be added soon.
  • Valkyrie
  • Leaked through unreleased interactions.
  • Arguably teased through Throg’s appearance in Season 6’s trailer and key art, alongside being one of the Museum of Contemplation’s many “exhibits”.
  • Throg is mentioned by Miller as having escaped to parts unknown, possibly teasing further involvement from the Asgardians.
  • Mentioned by Betrigan in an outline of possible season storylines (being a possible character to add for a War of the Realms-inspired season), suggesting that they may be added to the game in the near future.
  • C-Tier.
  • Is a character from the Thor sub-series, with both NetEase and Chinese fans having a noted favoritism towards Asgardian content.
  • Jane Foster
  • Directly mentioned in interactions presently in-game.
  • Is the best known out of the holders of the mantle, with such helping her stand out compared to her time as Thor.
  • Might fit the “brooding” atmosphere Season 9 will have, as per Miller.
  • Rūna
  • Is modeled after the MCU’s Valkyrie, which could prioritize her due to casual recognizability.
  • Would serve as both a female POC and LGBT+ (lesbian) rep, something NetEase is actively working on providing.
  • Hive
  • Leaked through file numbers previously.
  • Has made their first full appearance in Rivals canon in January via Marvel Rivals: Infinity Comic #37, suggesting that NetEase has plans to utilize them soon.
  • Would resolve an ongoing thread in Rivals’ storylines, with 2099’s HYDRA still trying to reach Maveth through contact with him.
  • Said storyline has also been mentioned as having been “put on ice” by Miller when discussing it, suggesting that the developers may one day return to the plotline in an effort to continue it.
  • Armor
  • Leaked through file numbers previously.
  • Mentioned by Doof's insider as coming soon.
  • D-Tier.
  • Would serve as a female POC rep, something NetEase is actively working on providing.
  • May also serve as an LGBT+ (lesbian) rep, should NetEase primarily pull from her modern Ultimate counterpart.

Settings/Maps:

  • HYDRA
  • Would resolve an ongoing thread in Rivals’ storylines, with 2099’s HYDRA still trying to reach Maveth through contact with Hive.
  • Said storyline has also been mentioned as having been “put on ice” by Miller when discussing it, suggesting that the developers may one day return to the plotline in an effort to continue it.
  • Arnim Zola and Hive have made their first full appearance in Rivals canon in January via Marvel Rivals: Infinity Comic #37, suggesting that NetEase has plans to utilize the storyline soon.
  • Maveth
  • Leaked in the files previously.
  • Makes its full appearance in Rivals canon in January via Marvel Rivals: Infinity Comic #37, suggesting that NetEase has plans to utilize the storyline soon.
  • Seemingly was planned for Marvel Rivals’s launch at some point (being shown off in the first artbook), suggesting the devs have an active interest in exploring the location.
  • HYDRA Charteris Base (Part 2)
  • Leaked in the files previously.
  • Yggsgard
  • Arguably teased through Throg’s appearance in Season 6’s trailer and key art, alongside being one of the Museum of Contemplation’s many “exhibits”.
  • Throg is mentioned by Miller as having escaped to parts unknown, possibly teasing further involvement from the Asgardians.
  • Would resolve an ongoing thread in Rivals’ storylines, with Loki still holding power in Asgard illegitimately.
