The House in Fata Morgana is one of the most empathetic and emotionally impactful pieces of media that exists, and it contains a very nuanced and respectful exploration of a variety of human experiences. However, due to the recurring themes of trauma, abuse and recovery, there are a number of scenes in Fatamoru which could be potentially triggering for some people. Despite the ultimately uplifting and cathartic nature of the game, it delves into some dark and emotionally harrowing subjects which may be stressful for some players. This list is to help ensure that new players have an idea of  what to expect upon going into this game and that nobody is confronted by a subject that is upsetting, triggering or otherwise emotionally damaging for them.

This list has been adapted from Mangagamer’s original content warnings (which I recommend reading here) and organised groups for each chapter, or “door”, of the game; so that players may be able to more easily avoid specific sections if necessary. The length of this list might seem daunting, however it is including as much detail as possible, even about elements that are minor in the text, to ensure that players do not accidentally encounter something they are unprepared to handle.

In the end, The House In Fata Morgana is an overwhelmingly positive game which seeks to help people love and accept themselves. It is a story about redemption, recovering and moving past the different types of struggles both its characters and people in our world have faced; and no matter how dark it gets it provides its readers and characters with sincere positivity and hope.
