Thread of Deavan’s Lies and Inconsistencies
Side note: I used to be subscribed to Deavan's youtube channel and I am blocked by both Deavan and Elicia on instagram. I will continue to add to the thread of comments because as I type this now, new information has come up. I apologize in advance that the bullet points are out of order and this will be long but bear with me :)
Be aware that I will be very biased about this and will include my personal opinions on Deavan as well and some of the bulletpoints may not be relevant to the custody battle.
I may miss some details here and there, so if any new information comes up, I will make sure to edit my comments with corrections if I miss anything.

Deavan is being sued for slander, defamation, libel, and false light. Topher is being sued for alienation of affection.
1). She used her daughter’s trauma for clickbait and Clout but never reported it.
She was more concerned about the NDA being broken and having to end her contract with the show than her daughter’s safety. She kept telling us to wait for the tell all so she could tell us about child abuse which makes no sense unless you only care about fame. Then she made a whole documentary exploiting her daughter’s supposed trauma while plugging her boyfriend’s magazine into it while claiming Drascilla “basically has PTSD.” (Not diagnosed, basically). She did ALL of this, and never reported the abuse to the police until January 17, 2021, almost a year after she put the claims out there.

2). She lied about jihoon refusing to sign divorce settlement and purposely waited till the last minute to file so that jihoon could lose his legal rights to his son. She had been saying for months that she had filed for divorce, and the reason why it wasn’t finalized was because “Jihoon is refusing to sign.” In reality, the reason Jihoon didn’t sign was because she didn’t file for divorce until December 2020, and Jihoon did not receive this paperwork until December 8th, giving him FOUR days to respond and get a lawyer, otherwise he would have lost all parental rights to Taeyang by default. This is why he had to scramble to get a lawyer, and that the gofundme was hoping to raise $10,000, because that is approximately the amount of money needed just for Jihoon to be represented in the custody battle. 3). Weaponizes sensitive topics such as child abuse to avoid taking accountability. Whenever people call Deavan out for mistreating Jihoon or being unfair to him during the custody battle, she brings up Drascilla’s abuse. This is a tactic she uses because she knows that if she were to accuse Jihoon of something like abuse without any reliable evidence, people would be forced to believe her because they are afraid of possibly defending a child abuser and risking the child’s safety. There are also actual abuse victims seeing these accusations, so they feel inclined to stand with her as survivors themselves. So when people like us notice her lying and being inconsistent with her story, we’re automatically "disgusting" to her for believing that Jihoon should at least be able to defend himself and say HIS side of the story. She did the same to yourwetsock by falsely accusing him of verbally abusing Drascilla on her social media, knowing that her supporters would attack him. I also want to mention how she tends to victimize herself and say how unfair it is that she’s receiving hate, when she was the one who slandered Jihoon and his family all over social media unprovoked for months getting her supporters to attack him. There were times where Deavan’s supporters would tell Jihoon to kill himself.
What’s insane is that this was said to Jihoon before the abuse allegations even came out. This was when season 2 was just airing. It shows you how crazy some of Deavan’s supporters can be.
4). Deavan is a koreaboo more or less. She insists that TLC purposely made her look like a koreaboo but I don’t buy that. For those who don’t know what a koreaboo is, it’s basically someone who fetishes Korean men and Korean culture. Deavan discovered KPOP (Korean pop music), and unfortunately let that guide her judgement on the entire country itself. She thought South Korea was all Kpop and kdramas completely forgetting that it is a normal first world country, with normal people, and problems just like any other country. In no way am I saying it's wrong to date outside of your race. The issue is when you put your tinder location in Korea for the purpose of finding a Korean man to date them just because they are korean. Then you don’t do any research on the country and move out there without even bothering to learn the damn language, then complaining that you’re not getting along with people. She refused to speak Korean with Jihoon’s family, which is incredibly disrespectful as an American to be living in their country. I can say personally that there is absolutely no excuse for not speaking Korean while living there. She can’t use the excuse that she didn’t know Korean because she could have taken a free Korean course on Coursera (like I have) to learn basic greetings and phrases. It’s actually pretty easy despite being a stay at home mom because you can just do one lesson before you go to bed. It’s not like she had to go to a 9-5 job in the morning. Not to toot my own horn, but I have learned more Korean in a couple months while completing my bachelor’s than Deavan has in a year of living in a predominately Korean-speaking country. She didn’t speak Korean because she had NO respect for Jihoon’s family or his culture. Not only that but Jihoon claims that he saw her phone and she was talking to multiple Korean men while they were in a relationship, confirming that she has a type and was already emotionally cheating. I find it incredibly odd for her to be searching for Korean guys in Korea considering how easy it was for her to find a Korean in the states. I’m from Southern California, and where I went to school, the student body was predominantly asian. It would not be hard to find an Asian man in cities where there are large Asian populations such as Los Angeles, where her current boyfriend is from, so I don't know why she didn’t do this before...My biggest issue about her fetish is how she fetishized her own son on a podcast. She explained how she was upset that Taeyang “didn’t look Asian enough” but it was okay because he’ll “make her lots of money someday”. I found this comment so disgusting because what kind of mother says that about her own child? This is how I came to the conclusion of her having a fetish because there are people that are so obsessed with KPOP that they travel to korea for the purpose of having mixed babies. It’s incredibly weird. It’s wild because plastic surgery is very common in South Korea, so many of the idols you see on screen do not look like that naturally. Deavan was probably upset that she didn’t marry a member of BTS. Forgot to add how Deavan has used the hashtag #mixedbaby when posting pictures of her son (fetishizing/exploiting mixed race child for views/likes/attention). It pretty much screams “I have mixed babies because they are cuter.”
5). She never thanked Jihoon’s parents for taking care of her kids and doing housework for her. Jihoon's mom streamed on youtube and explained how Deavan rarely smiled, never said Korean greetings to Jihoon's family, and expected her in laws to care for the children. She also stated that it was very difficult to care for Drascilla because she misbehaved/was hard to control.

6). She blamed an entire country for her not reporting the alleged abuse. She has put out three stories as to why she never got a police report for Drascilla's abuse. 1: The police didn't speak english, 2: Korea doesn't care about foreign children, 3: She called a friend, not the police, and this person told her that the police would not come because Drascilla was a foreigner. All of these reasons lead to no police report. She claimed that “Korea doesn’t care about foreign children” during I believe John's Yates' broadcast. I think it was an interview with Sharell’s world, I may be wrong. This turned out to be bullshit and the reason she never got a police report was because she didn’t call the police in South Korea until January 17th, 2021 (many months after spreading the allegations through social media).

7). She lied about Jihoon not having a job. On an instagram live she said herself that she did not have a job, and that the only way she was making money was through sponsorships and her clothing line that was shut down (which is just her selling her old clothes, not a real clothing line). She claimed to be only responsible for the grocery bill and Jihoon was responsible for the rest of the bills. In her youtube videos, she makes it clear that Jihoon was working, and even posted a vlog of the two of them going to the hospital because “Jihoon injured his foot at work”. This vlog has since been deleted, and she had been going in her IG comments telling her audience that Jihoon would do nothing but play video games all day, and that she was the one paying all the bills. Jihoon claimed on his IG story that he was working and actually had to quit his job because Deavan was threatening suicide if she couldn’t go back to America.
*Correction: He was fired from his job because he would leave work to tend to Deavan who was threatening to leave with the kids if he didn't tend to her needs when she called.*

8). She lied about the condom incident. On the show, Deavan claimed she had to get extra snug condoms before going back to Korea, implying the reason she got pregnant was because Jihoon is too small. When she was called out for saying this on social media, she posted to her IG story that she was referring to Drascilla’s father. This now contradicts her abuse story that she discussed about Drascilla’s biological father on her youtube channel. She claims that she passed out and did not remember what happened but discovered that she was pregnant, implying that D’s bio dad assaulted her while she was unconscious. She would not know whether or not he used a condom during this if she was not awake to witness it. (I feel horrible for speaking on her sexual assault story but it had to be said).

9). She lied about the restraining order against Drascilla’s biological father. Someone did a background check on D’s dad and found that there is no restraining order against him. Jihoon’s lawyer is aware that there is not existing restraining order. Deavan posted a restraining order to her story for proof, but it was not signed/approved by a judge nor did it have a stamp.
10). She blamed us (the audience) for drascilla’s bio dad’s info getting out, when she’s the one that went on national television for everyone to know who she is and made a whole YouTube video explaining how he abused her (unprovoked, like literally NO ONE told her to make this video).
I am referring to when Deavan went live on instagram and was crying in the bathroom saying how it was "disgusting" that people were speaking on him and his child (not Drascilla but another child). In that same live she continues to add more details about what D's bio dad did to her, which makes no sense if you're complaining about info being leaked about him but okay.

11). Lied about jihoon not wanting to be in his son’s life. Deavan confirmed on her IG that the reason Jihoon can’t see Taehyung is because she doesn’t want him near the child due to her abuse claims. Whenever Jihoon sends things to his son in Utah, Deavan sends them back. Basically she blocks every attempt of him being in his son’s life then calls him a deadbeat to slander him in front of her audience.
12). Lied about Jihoon blocking her on everything. He only blocked Deavan on IG because she keeps posting her new man holding his son to spite him. I would block her too, I don’t blame him. She however, blocked him on Kaokao talk after trying blackmail him, which was their only means of communication.
13). She exposed her kids to a new man increasing the risk of child abuse despite Drascilla supposedly having PTSD. Also the fact that she has her son thinking this new guy is his dad is gross on so many levels.
14). Topher matching clothes with Taeyang (petty and immature to do) then threw out abuse claims when called out for it.
15). Her mom harassing Jihoon’s legal team after "doxxing" her high school classmate. Basically Elicia found out a member of Jihoon’s legal team has a daughter that went to high school with Deavan, so she pulled up to her house to harass her and demand information. When this happened, Deavan posted to her story “I found you, A.” There was a police report filed on the incident in Utah county, so Elicia can’t deny things like she usually does.
16). She publicly embarrassed Jihoon on national television multiple times. First, she brought up Jihoon’s criminal history to his boss after all that complaining about him not working. She asked his friends behind his back if they had nude photos in their phones. The infamous condom remark (implying Jihoon was small as mentioned before). She speaks to him as if he’s a child (He’s not dumb Deavan, there’s just a language barrier, maybe you could try learning Korean?)
17). She claimed the show wasn’t scripted on a podcast and then claims it’s scripted when it makes her look bad. When someone called her out on IG for bringing up Jihoon’s history to his boss, she replied “you know the show is scripted right?” She said the complete opposite on a podcast. She said that she made sure that her and Jihoon’s story was accurately depicted on the show and that what you see on screen is what happens in real life. Now she’s switching up because she can’t handle the heat.

Another example was when she ranted on IG live about Drascilla running into the street when the episode aired, saying it was Jihoon's fault (only because she got backlash).

At the time stamp 12:50, she says to “keep watching the show” (implying we don’t know the full context because it hasn’t aired yet), but then when the seasons ends and she’s still portrayed as a horrible person, she claims the show is scripted. This is one of many examples of Deavan being incapable of taking accountability for her actions.
Personally, I get the feeling that Deavan thinks she is exempt from criticism and can act any type of way on screen because she has children. The majority of the criticism she was getting was about her bad parenting when the second season aired, but she used her kids as a shield saying that we as the audience are “putting her kids in danger,” when she is the one that exploited them on national television and refused to discipline them. Frankly, if Drascilla doesn’t know how to listen to adults repeatedly yelling at her to “STOP”, what Deavan should be doing is teaching her child how to behave and nurture her development instead of chasing Korean men.
18). Claiming she’s not going to post her kids on social media anymore due to bullying but continues to do so and makes them the focal point of her YouTube videos for money. She continues posting Drascilla on her IG to defend her abuse claims.
19). Falsely accusing Yourwetsock of verbally abusing her daughter and threatening him with legal action.
20). Faking a cease and desist letter towards Amanda (creator of Jihoon’s gofundme)
21). Lying about her relationship timeline with Topher. The timeline changes every time they do a video together it's laughable. She also changed the story of where he’s from. She said he’s from her hometown when he’s really from LA. She claims that they met on a plane when she was flying back to Korea to see Jihoon while she was pregnant which was in 2018. Then she said they exchanged contacts at the time of their meeting, and 2 years later they found out they had mutual friends, and that’s how they rekindled their friendship. Her official relationship was made public around September of 2020, however it is very likely that she started dating him a lot sooner. Regardless of when they started dating, it is still a fact that she is currently having an affair with Topher because she is still legally married.

25). Lying about why the dog was given away and claiming Jihoon was jealous that BamBam had more attention than his poodle (they gave the dog away
because Drascilla was mistreating it, like I said, it’s on camera).
26). Called out jihoon for looking at photos of women and accused him of cheating but is currently cheating on him and has an onlyfans.
Also side note: she claimed it was Jihoon’s idea to start an onlyfans as if he pressured her into it which didn’t make sense to me because she’s still doing (and promoting) her onlyfans now with her new boyfriend.

27). Deavan blaming a physician for Drascilla’s bottle rot (no physician will ever tell you to keep your child on a bottle for this very reason). She mentions this in the IG live where she blames jihoon for Drascilla running into the street.
28). Drascilla running into the street incident and blaming Jihoon for it. Deavan never disciplined that kid, it is in no way Jihoon’s fault. We saw how badly behaved she was in the previous season. She was also hurting her classmates at school and Jihoon was always the one that had to come to the school to deal with it, rather than Deavan. Jihoon also claims to have school documents proving that Drascilla misbehaved often. Deavan has no concern for Drascilla being physically aggressive with her teachers and other people’s children, but has a problem when someone steps into discipline her.
29). The fact that Deavan can’t even vaccinate her kids let alone report child abuse in a timely manner but wants us to believe Jihoon is the bad parent.
30). Forcing Jihoon to be a father to a child that isn’t his and blaming him for the child misbehaving.
31). Claiming that Drascilla wasn’t going to school in Korea when there was literally a vlog of Drascilla at school that she has deleted.
32). Claiming that Jihoon physically abused Drascilla in March/April but then posted a vlog to YouTube after that occurrence where Drascilla spent the day with Jihoon and his friend alone (you witnessed the abuse and then let her spend an entire day with her abuser?) The video is also deleted.
33). Constantly slandering Jihoon and his family while Jihoon DEFENDED Deavan, asking his supporters not to blame her for anything and send her hate. Then she freaks out when Jihoon defends himself from serious accusations.
34). Is completely silent about the hate crimes in the Asian community (I may be wrong since I’m blocked now ) You’d think that someone who is so in love with Asians, has an Asian son, has a large platform, and is a huge fan of BTS who are global ambassadors to end violence around the world, would be a LITTLE vocal about the violent hate crimes happening in the Asian community due to Covid. I went to school with many Asians and have Asian friends, so I’ve been using my social media to spread awareness about how racism is negatively affecting people. Deavan hasn’t said a word when she could be more obligated to speak on it than I am. I guess promoting her only fans is more of a priority for her. Of course I could be wrong and she may have posted something but I wouldn’t know because I’m blocked.
35). She waited 3 days to finally get Drascialla medical attention when she had bell’s palsy. Bell’s palsy is commonly caused by a viral infection, and we know she’s not vaccinated so that may have contributed to it. *Edit: I've been told that Deavan self-diagnosed Drascilla with Bell's Palsy. There's also an article where Deavan claims she studied medicine for 2 years which we know is not true, we don't need to do a background check to know this.* Drascilla's facial droop is a symptom of a stroke, so if you really studied medicine, it would not take you that long to get medical attention.

36). Don’t even get me started on her mom, she’s a psychopath too and like I said earlier, she harassed a member of Jihoon’s legal team. A police report was made against her in Utah county so she can’t deny it. She has me blocked on IG as well.
37). The "say no" incident. Deavan did a Q and A video with her new boyfriend Topher and one of the questions asked if he had ever watched the show 90 day fiance. You can clearly hear her whisper to Topher "Say no". For SOME reason she didn't think to edit that out. When people called her out on it, she disabled the comments and ratings. I'm not going to plug her video because I don't want to give her views and the video itself was honestly so cringy and awkward to watch (they're the most boring couple ever) but here is a link to a couple reacting to the video and they go over the part where she lies on camera. Jihoon wrote first about this affarin on his insta stories: Deavan threathened suicide, he ditched work to tend to her and got fired, he bought tickets for her and children for the next day. Also a return flight ticket, which never have been used (from his newest insta live).
Deavan told, short after, how she "escaped" Korea after she begged producers to help her escape the abuser. She told how Jihoon would come home drunk from work, constantly, only for few hours, not contacting her at all. She also claimed they broke up in March because of "abuse" and she booked flight tickets which got cancelled. She also claimed that TLC was moved by her plea, fired Jihoon, transferred her wage earlier so that she could buy the tickets as well as they're paying for Drascilla´s therapy. She also claimed that even if Jihoon was fired, she wasn´t. Because TLC wanted to keep her "safe", she wasn´t obliged to attend Tell All, but was paid for the attendance.
In the episode considering return, Deavan tells yet another version: Jihoon was playing computer games all day, nothing about him working or coming back drunk from work for a few hours. Because she felt like he didn’t spend time with her, she goes back to "fix the marriage". This was told behind Jihoon´s back, as Deavan packed and Jihoon went out with Drascilla, only two of them. Yepp, with the hair ripping abuser they were fleeing from.
38). In Deavan's youtube video "Back in America and why," that was uploaded in March (now deleted), she states clearly that she was only going to be in the US temporarily due to COVID. Her mother Elicia stated that Deavan came back for Jury duty and would return in a few weeks. Now the reason she came back was because she was scared for her life of Jihoon and because of the child abuse. Her story constantly changes.
39). She used Leida as a scapegoat blaming her for the abuse allegations being "leaked." She and Leida are not friends anymore because of this. Leida denies leaking any of that information. John Yates, however, brought up the child abuse allegations in an instagram comment while arguing with someone and then deleted it. Maybe he was the one who leaked it? He is also buddy buddy with Deavan conveniently, and he has been doing interviews with her so that she can discuss the abuse.
40). Deavan complains about being body shamed, which doesn't make sense because she photoshops her body. Part of me also wants to think that she is claiming to have an eating disorder for sympathy, although I also hope that is not the case. Most of the comments criticizing her appearance were referring to her ginormous lips, and she must've been upset about that and pulled the eating disorder card to make herself exempt from criticism.
41). It's now been confirmed that Deavan recorded Jihoon's facetime call with Taehyung in September of 2020 (debunking the claim that he never tried to reach out), and used the footage for her abuse documentary, exploiting her small child. 42). Deavan blackmailed Jihoon through kaokaotalk. She told him that in order to facetime his son, he would have to talk to her first or she would press charges against him for child abuse. She blackmailed him saying that she had a video of Drascilla claiming he abused her (not actual evidence). Please notice how she’s used the language barrier to her advantage. I find it incredibly weird that a person would dangle child abuse charges over someone’s head like that. It seems that if Jihoon played her game, she would have never reported child abuse to the police. But as a mother, if this man really abused your daughter, wouldn’t you have to report it anyway? Why would you be vindictive about something like that? It is very likely that the only reason Deavan finally reported her claims to the police almost a year later is because Jihoon got a legal team and started fighting for his parental rights.
Jihoon also mentioned on his story how Deavan suddenly accused him of abuse and wanted a divorce. We know he’s telling the truth because it’s in the screenshots of their kaokao talk conversation. He denies abusing Drascilla in the conversation.
It is also said that Jihoon is not on Taeyang's birth certificate. I heard it was because Deavan didn't want the baby to have dual citizenship, which would require him to serve in the Korean military when he's older. If that is not the reason please correct me if I'm wrong.
43). Now I can plug myself lol. I want to point out that when she says she is “legally separated” that is a lie. There was no legal agreement for Jihoon and Deavan to live separately because she was supposed to return to Korea and she never filed for divorce until December of 2020. She lied to Jihoon and left the country under false pretenses, so Jihoon didn’t even know that they were “separating” at the time. As of today (February 20, 2021) their divorce is not finalized and they are still legally married, therefore Topher will be sued for alienation of affection. Deavan created her own definition of alienation of affection and thinks that cheating can only occur when you’re living with your spouse, which is so ignorant on her part. She also brings up Drascilla (as she always does) even though she has nothing to do with Deavan cheating. She constantly deflects.
44). On the podcast she did with Big Mood in June 2020 (the same one where she made the comment about Taeyang’s skin color) she made no mention of her returning to Utah because of abuse, Jihoon supposedly cheating, lack of finances, or any other conflict. She even mentioned a funny moment that happened when Jihoon took her to a club (she explained all this in a joking manner). She wasn’t speaking very hostile of him. Her demeanor on this podcast is different in comparison to how it is when she speaks of Jihoon on her social media after putting out the abuse allegations. When speaking of Jihoon she seemed happy.
45). This bullet point I want to use just to discuss how I feel about Deavan’s parenting and her treatment towards Jihoon in general. As we saw on the show, Deavan has no control over her daughter, hence Drascilla running into the street. She has no knowledge on what beverages small children should avoid at their age (Drascilla suffered bottle rot before even moving to Korea and Deavan stated in an instagram live that Taeyang has already had dental work done for the same issue when he is not even 2 years old). In this photo, you can see Drascilla already has silver caps.
This next photo is a photo of Drascilla before they even moved to Korea, making her to be around 3 years old.
It says a lot for Deavan to pay thousands of dollars on veneers for herself, all while the teeth of her own children are rotting as we speak.
In Deavan’s evening routine as a stay at home mom video on youtube, she puts Taeyang to bed with a bottle of milk in his mouth. As someone specializing in healthcare, I have learned that parents must NEVER let their kids sleep with a milk bottle as it leads to bottle rot.

In other videos Taeyang is seen either drinking soda or undiluted juices, and eating junk food for breakfast. This could be considered child neglect on Deavan’s part. Elicia is also known for swearing in front of the children as seen on season 2 of 90 day fiance the other way. Deavan refused to send Drascilla to daycare due to risk of child abuse, but was still comfortable with having Drascilla sleep next to a complete stranger (Jihoon) when they were just getting to know each other (in reference to season 1 of the show when they stayed in Las Vegas). She is now exposing Drascilla to another man when she supposedly has PTSD from child abuse from another man which can lead to emotional stress and separation anxiety (if she ends her relationsip with Topher). Not to mention that she also waited almost a year to report child abuse that she claimed to have witnessed, then exploited her daughter’s trauma for a documentary that she is planning to charge people money to watch, and continues to post her children on social media after she said she would stop because she was worried for her children’s safety. Deavan’s neglectful actions may endanger the children. Not only this, but she may be damaging Taeyang by implanting in his mind that his biological father does not want him when she is purposely keeping the father away, and having her son believe that her new boyfriend is his real father. Doing all of this damage to your son simply because you don’t like his father romantically anymore is beyond childish in my opinion.
In addition to the abuse claims towards Jihoon, it is important to know that Deavan never took Drascilla to the hospital to receive medical attention. Deavan made the claim that Jihoon sat on top of her and hit/punched her, then used both hands to rip out hair. As well, claims on another occasion kicked her in the stomach so hard she fell and hurt her knees and that they were bleeding. We know that Deavan is a social media influencer, is constantly uploading photos, and is always using her phone. There is absolutely no reason for her to not take photos of the injuries. We could have been shown photos of bruising on the stomach, scraped knees, injuries to the face, trauma to the scalp, etc, yet the only photo evidence we have is a blurry, dimly lit picture of Drascilla’s head. Deavan has also mentioned Drascilla having a condition called trichotillomania, so it is difficult to decide whether Drascilla’s hair loss is a result of her pulling her hair out on her own, or someone else. But in order to pull out a “chunk” of hair at once as Deavan claims, it would require great force that would result in trauma to the scalp (swelling, bleeding) requiring immediate medical attention. If Deavan had actually gone to a hospital, the case would cause hospital staff to suspect possible child abuse and require them to contact child protective services as mandated reporters. And yes, Korea has a law for mandated reporting just like the United States. If these abuse accusations are true, then Deavan contributed to endangering Drascilla as well.

Just my personal opinion, I think it’s narcissistic to be doing your hair while discussing how your current husband brutally beat your daughter, I don’t know why that was off putting for me.
Another inconsistency: she claimed Jihoon ripped out the chunk of hair at 3 am because Drascilla got up to get water, but in screenshots of a conversation she had with a fan, she claimed that he pulled Drascilla’s hair out at Taeyang’s birthday party. The birthday party was filmed for a vlog on their YouTube channel which has since been deleted. The screenshots are on bullet point 48.
There is also a concern regarding possible emotional abuse towards Jihoon from both Deavan and Elicia. Jihoon appeared to be working hard to make Deavan happy, but no matter what he did, she would continue to complain and blame him for things. I’ve already stated how she publicly embarrassed Jihoon on the show. You could see on the show how visibly upset Jihoon was, and he constantly beat himself up because of it affecting his self-esteem. Elicia did not help the situation by blaming him for Drascilla for running away, cursing him out, and threatening to kill him on national television. She also implied that she doesn’t fully accept Taeyang as her grandchild with the way she compared Drascilla running into the street to Taeyang doing the same thing hypothetically. The fact that Elicia also went out of her way to harass someone at their house simply for helping Jihoon for legal matters shows that she is actually insane and shouldn’t be trusted to care for children. Personally, I think that as long as Jihoon is financially stable, he is a more suitable guardian for Taeyang. Taeyang would be exposed to a beautiful culture, proper education, a healthy diet, could learn two languages, and would be cared for by a loving father who is fighting to be connected with him and two loving grandparents that enjoyed taking care of him when Deavan wouldn’t.
46). In addition to Deavan lying about her escape from Korea, Jihoon has stated that he and his mother paid for the round trip ticket for Deavan to go back home to Utah on May 18th, 2020 and return to Korea on June 15th, 2020. If Jihoon is able to retrieve a receipt confirming the ticket purchase, it will prove Deavan’s claim that she begged TLC to pay for her trip home to be false.
47). Deavan also made a claim that Jihoon abused her, Taeyang, AND Drascilla, however, she has never been as vocal about any physical abuse towards her or Taeyang. Whenever she goes on podcasts, she never mentions it and only talks about Drascilla’s abuse (this I will discuss more in detail in bullet point 49). In fact, whenever people challenge her abuse claims, she usually posts on social media, using her daughter as the focal point of her reasoning for starting an investigation (which again was not started for almost a year). Take this instagram post for example: She never mentions herself enduring abuse or Taeyang, but only uses Drascilla as the face of posts regarding abuse. Also notice how Elicia doesn’t mention the abuse at all on her social media.
48). The infamous miscarriage/abortion
Deavan has been very vocal on social media about her miscarriage. On the show, she says she had a miscarriage during her second pregnancy with Jihoon in 2019. She is very upset that people are accusing her of having an abortion. I don’t want to act like I know whether or not she had an abortion, because I don’t. I wasn’t there. However, I do want to explain why people are finding her story sketchy. This whole rumor of the miscarriage being an abortion is not new. This accusation didn’t just pop up recently in 2021. This has been vaguely talked about in late 2020, but it didn’t blow up until just recently (in February). When I was watching an IG live from yourwetsock in December 2020 where he was talking about Deavan, someone made a comment mentioning the miscarriage. Luckily I took a screenshot. I’ve covered her name to protect her identity.
Like I said, this was brought up in December so this is not new information. This same person actually did release screenshots of the conversation she had with Deavan. Here they are:

Now back to the miscarriage...I’ll attach a link explaining the situation in regards to a nurse that allegedly came forward about the miscarriage being an abortion as well as Jihoon’s statement.

Here is a screenshot of the nurse’s DM saying she allegedly participated in Deavan’s procedure. Also in the screenshot is when the nurse commented under Deavan’s post saying it was an abortion and to “be honest.” Deavan deleted the comment.
Before she blocked me, Deavan told me that she couldn’t have had an abortion because it is illegal in Korea and that their laws are “way stricter.” What she doesn’t realize is that despite the procedure being illegal, it’s still very common to have the procedure done. Many physicians do it for side money. Just because something is illegal doesn’t mean it’s inaccessible. For example, when I was in high school, it was illegal in my state to smoke marijuana, but half of my classmates were smoking weed before it was legalized. Going back to the abortion, the procedure was just decriminalized in South Korea in 2021. This may be why the nurse is coming forward now making this claim.
Overall, if it turns out that Deavan did not have an abortion, I will wholeheartedly apologize for speaking on this situation. However, if she did have an abortion, it is likely that she accused Jihoon of abuse because she was afraid that he would expose her during the tell all.
49). Not that this has anything do with Deavan lying, but I wanted to address the whole translator incident. I just don’t understand why the two insisted on using the translator knowing that it was really crappy at translating. They could have used Google translate instead (even thought it’s not perfectly accurate but it’s definitely not as bad as the device they were using. Since Deavan was living in Korea, Jihoon and his family are not fluent in English, Deavan should’ve felt obligated to learn Korean as I mentioned before. When I was watching the episode where she and her mom go to a restaurant near the marketplace, I thought it was weird that Deavan couldn’t read the menu. The reason why is because she could have easily learned Hangul (the Korean alphabet) and could have written the Korean symbols into Google translate using the writing feature, she could have just typed the English word to translate it that way, or she could use the camera feature and scan the words with her phone to translate the menu that way. There are many ways she could have learned (Coursera as I mentioned before, language courses at a Korean university online through a scholarship program, or she could also use Papago, which I’ve been told is more accurate than Google translate). My point is there was no excuse for miscommunication and it was so frustrating how the translator made issues worse.
I just think it’s mind boggling that she’s a KPOP stan and was married to a man that speaks Korean around her but doesn’t know how to say beef and rice in Korean.
I don’t know if TLC made them use a translator since Paul and Karine used a smartphone.
