PERSONAL COACHING STATEMENT

BASED ON WHAT I BELIEVE...

My current VISION of an instructional technology coach is a person who supports  teachers and can enhance the  use of technology so that education and learning can become better  and he/she has good relationships with teachers who can trust him/her in what is being done.

My STRENGTHS as an instructional technology coach are meeting the different  needs of the teachers and how they would like to implement their teaching and the learning process in different  situations and also in special needs.

Unit 1 Reflection | What's one goal you would like to set for yourself the next time you coach (communicate and/or collaborate)

                               with a colleague?

First of all listening to what the teachers want to achieve and a second step would be  to communicate with the other teachers so that the community can share  objects.  Sharing is caring for me.

3 | Exploring Frameworks | Guiding Educators to Enhance and Transform Digital Learning and Teaching

How will TPACK /SAMR shape the kinds of questions you ask those you coach? or co-plan?

What methods will you use to gather this information?

What strategies might you use during coaching to help grow other’s TPACK?

1)Assess ability and level as regards technology

2) Start working on the new tools

3) Observe and help teachers who are starting using the new tools

4) Provide feedback and support in my blog

- Padlet

 TPACK/SAMR activity

- Teacher Channel coaching videos

“It’s About the Questions” article

-ISTE resources

 Group and 1-1 discussions

Formal and informal meeting with the staff and discuss about what needs improving or what did not work

Teachers’ self-assessment

Google-forms collected during the school year

Unit 3 Reflection | What did you learn about yourself as you explored the TPACK and SAMR models?

Technology is important but  learning  requires  the work carried out by educators who work on a pedagogical level and are aware that  learning can vary and we do need to copy with different  needs.  TPACK and  SAMR models were really useful.

4 | Coaching Digital Learning Assessments

What strategies, frameworks, or rubrics will you use as guidance in selecting digital tools/resources to use in your work?

Rubrics are useful but they need to be organized and we do need to know what the aim of a test/ oral control is. Thus  we can choose the right tool if we have agreed about what we want to achieve by the end of a module/ activity ( which skill? Which competence?)

Rubistar

Google Forms

Socrative

I liked  Kathy

Shrock’s rubric

List  and  I will try to learn more about them

You need to be able to assess tools and resources  so that your progress will continue and have a development.

Unit 4 | Deep Reflection | What insights have you gained upon completing the Transformational Coaching Rubric?

I am not a coach, I am a teacher who interested in digital literacy. I am aware that the coach plays an important role in education and needs to be able to reflect and think about the best ways for working with teachers and support them.

Collaborate and share ideas with teachers about what they want

the students to do  and what they want them not to

Teach about “ digital footprints “, about  private life and professional life

Incorporate digital citizenship lessons in the content of the different  school subjects teachers are teaching

 Teach about Creative Commons

Teach about Digital Footprint and  Safety online

Watch videos on the youtube about safety online for any kind of student

 Coaching teachers

Supporting the use of technology to help them integrate the content with digital citizenships

Promote Common Sense Media

Share resources about safety online and  create  materials for the school blog/website

Unit 5 Deep Reflection | What was the most challenging part of coaching Digital Citizenship for you ?

It is important to know about  safety online and the new skills our students need to acquire.   Coaching  Digital Citizenship can be challenging and  I wish I could share more materials with my friends and teachers who have not learnt about it. The role of the coach is crucial to  start a new learning process among teachers who will start working in class in a different way.

6 | Accelerating Innovation Studio

Consider the notes you have taken in Units 1-5.

Prioritize your goals for instruction and practice.

How do you plan to share your learning with others?

  1. Begin discussing about  the importance of a coach in my school
  2.  Share ideas with other  teachers about the tools which we can use and how they can help our students
  3. Work online and develop best practices among teachers

 Padlet

 Lino.it

These tools will help us in discussing and sharing ideas

I would also use COMMON MEDIA videos and lots of the TWITTER hashtags as they involved  CPD and TECHNOLOGY

 Surveys

 Interviews with students and teachers

Website and blogs where teachers  share their ideas and experiences

Feedback from the students who have been involved in  projects

Unit 6  Deep Reflection | How do you plan to share what you have learned in this course, and what you have synthesized above

with those you work with, with those you support?

I will write about this experience in my blog and will share part of the materials and links as I feel that I have learnt a lot.

I will suggest some tools to my  friends who are teaching in Italy.

PERSONAL Coaching Statement REVISITED | How has your personal coaching vision evolved from your initial thoughts in Week/Unit One?

My vision has not changed much  but  now  I am aware of the important role of  coach  in most schools in my country.  I am looking forward to starting sharing ideas and maybe becoming  a coach in Italy.
