This app allows kids to easily create their own iBook by importing images, multimedia, text, and audio. Its simplicity makes it good for kids of all ages. Even though it has been around for quite some time, some educators still call it their number-one tool. One downside is that the output can only be viewed on iOS devices.

Similar to Facetime, but you can have 12 others on-screen with you! You can chat with or without video, text chat, and view previously recorded Hangouts. Record yourself teaching and post the link for others to view later!

Don’t give out your personal cell/home number to parents/students. Sign up for a Google Voice number and you can have it forwarded to any number in the world to ring, or have it go directly to your Google Voice mail box. A must for teacher who want parents/students to be able to contact them!

This is a great tool to send important information to parents and students. You can send text messages to anyone who signs up for your messages. They will not see your cell number, but will get a message from your classroom account. It is easy to setup and use from the web based system. Sent updates, field trip reminders, assignment reminders, or anything that can be written in text style format instantly. Parents and students can unsubscribe at any time.

A great list/task manager. Use Any.DO every day to remember all the things you want to do and make sure to get done. Create a collaborative bulletin board for groups or whole class. It can be used for exit slips, quick formative assessments, etc. It can be private of shared with a link for your whole class to work on together. Great for brainstorming, organizing, or collaborative planning.
