I refused the kind invitation to your banquet much to my chagrin and because my excuse is a very real one, and I have a Housefull [sic] for shooting, and my guests arrive that very day. I assure you I am very sorry, and I wish so much that I could have accepted.

Will you please let me have a photo of your picture of Mrs van der Byl [3100].

[1] Stephen Philip de Laszlo (1904-1939) [4375], second son of Philip and Lucy de László, and (Edith Alexandra) Diana von Versen (1906-1938) [11084], elder daughter of Baroness Versen of Lancaster Gate, announced their engagement in the autumn of 1930; the couple married on 14 January 1931.
