Bands/artists referenced so far (Summary)

Bands referenced so far (Detailed Version)
**GENERAL RULE IS ONE POST = ONE CHAPTER
- Nirvana — Most referenced band.
- Ch.1: Name mentioned directly, Mitsuki's hoodie, Mitsuki listening to their hit song 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' on the last panel;
- C.2-3: Mitsuki is wearing yet another Nirvana hoodie — this time with the smiley face on the front
- Ch.7: Nirvana poster in Aya's room
- Ch.8: Mitsuki with Nirvana hoodie #3 (NOT ADDING A SCREENSHOT, I AM LAZY)
CH.1: 気になってる人が男じゃなかった

CH.2: 気になってる人が男じゃなかった その2

CH.7: 推し(女)との電話が全然うまくいかない

CH.3: クラスの女子を勢いで口説いてしまった

On Ch.4 ( 気になってる人が女だとまだ気づけないギャル), Aya tries to explain the concept behind the project、 but her friends don't care. They SHOULD care, and watch Studio 666.
CH.8: 気になってる人が男じゃなかった

- Pink Floyd — the CD Mitsuki is holding at Ch.5 (姪っ子がJKに口説かれてます), Aya’s room has the Dark Side of the Moon poster on Ch.7 (推し(女)との電話が全然うまくいかない), a poster in the shop's staffroom on the Ch.10 "EXTRA" (いつしか雨に降られたあとのふたり) which seems to be from their October 22nd 1971 show at Paramount Theatre in Seattle. It later comes back on Chapter.43 (2つの世界) at the live house stairs.
CH.5 and CH.7

CH.10 EXTRA (July 17th) CH.43
- Rolling Stones — Ch.7, Aya's room (kinda hard to spot but it's on page 2, it's a big poster on the top right of the last panel); and Ch.8, Mitsuki’s room

- AC/DC — Ch.8, Mitsuki’s room (see photo).
- Radiohead — Mitsuki’s shirt on Ch.10 (推し(実は女)のためにかわいくありたい)

- The Velvet Underground — the hoodie Mitsuki offers to Aya on Ch.10

- Gorillaz — Mitsuki’s tank top on Ch.11 (熱と一緒に、欲が出る) and a Demon Days era poster in the shop's restroom on Ch.10 EXTRA. The poster seems to be fanmade (source: Reddit)

- Arctic Monkeys — Mitsuki’s room, Ch.11, 1st panel: it’s a gig poster, but not exactly like the poster you find online. Sumiko probably made some changes so the AM initials would be seen. Apparently, this is the gig in question.

Also Mitsuki's tattoo looks like a reference to the AM album cover.

- Blur
- Black Sabbath
- The Strokes
- Pearl Jam
- Bon Jovi
- Beck
- Royal Blood
- KISS — Ch. 10 EXTRA, looks like an edited version of a show the band performed with RUSH

- AEROSMITH: An early song by them is playing, according to Aya. My bet? It's 'Walk This Way' because it sounds like something a principal/school staff would play.
- BTS
- Fujii Kaze

- RHCP and BLINK-182 — Red Hot Chili Peppers album "Red Blood" and a poster of Blink-182 no one in the group of fans could find on Chapter 19 (訊けない同士の新学期)

- Additionally, on Chapter 33 (願ったり叶ったり) Mitsuki gets tickets for a RHCP concert. To avoid spoilers, I will not show the tickets but instead say that the band is indeed performing in Japan in 2023.

- Unavoidable spoiler for Chapter 39 (響いた): Chizuru, one of Aya's friends, goes to said concert and can be seen enjoying — albeit pissed off because she's enjoying — a certain song from RHCP's most recent album, 'Unlimited Love' (2022). It's called These Are The Ways.

- BABY MITSUKI HOLDING THE BEATLES' LET IT BE !!!!!!!! (Chapter 20: 姪っ子にかけるお金は惜しまない)

- THE POLICE — a poster referencing their 1979 album Reggatta de Blanc on Chapter 24 (追いかけるよ) inside the store

- THE CARS — a poster referencing their 1978 self-titled on Chapter 24 (追いかけるよ). Location: at Mitsuki's room

- SOUNDGARDEN — Mitsuki's hoodie on Chapter 25 (ゆめかうつつか) is a 'Superunkown' (1994) print.

- MUSE — On Ch.28 (目が潰れそうです) Mitsuki mentions she went to a festival where they played when she was little. Could or could not be FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL '15 since the dates match.
- THE SMITHS — 'The Queen Is Dead' (1986) shows up at the 29th chapter (彼女だけは同担拒否)

- WILLOW — Album <COPINGMECHANISM> (2022) on Chapter 30 (ふたりなら) and one of her friends FINALLY listening to some alt rock

- MARIAH CAREY — 'All I Want For Christmas is You' is sung by Aya and her friends at the karaoke on Chapter 32 (以心伝心). Credits to finding this one for the person who translates the series to English, they cracked the code and found out they are singing "オール・アイ・ウォント・フォー・クリスマス"

- WEEZER — Mitsuki listens to Weezer. She'll never get the girl like this. (Chapter 32)

- DEFTONES — On Chapter 37 (世界で1番きれいな音) Mitsuki is listening, and probably playing, their 1998 song "Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away)". The guitar riff on this song is amazing.

- BAD NERVES — On the same chapter, she listens to Bad Nerves' "Don't Stop".

- FEEDER — On Chapter 38 (推し(女)の部屋に来てしまった), a Feeder based on the arts of their 'Comfort in Sound' (2002) album and its single 'Just The Way I'm Feeling' (2003) covers. I only found this poster on Ebay.

- YVES TUMOR — Right next to it, there is an Yves Tumor poster, which announces the dates of his 2022 tour. A big thanks to the twitter user that helped me find it.

- TURNSTILE — On Chapter 40 (無自覚さんの春) Mitsuki is listening to Turnstile's BLACKOUT, the second track of their 2021 album, 'Glow On'. The album cover is just the pink clouded sky, but I decided to add an image of the CD (not mine) since it has the album's name.

The actual colour on the cover is a very light pink, and given the chapter's theme of Spring and Cherry Blossoms, the choice is fitting in my opinion. Although for us readers this might not be obvious because of the green.

- METALLICA — On Chapter 41 (姪っ子が高3になりました), Joe-san can be seen wearing a Metallica t-shirt in one of the photos. It is from their Black Album (1991) 'Wherever I May Roam Tour'. Shirts with this print are available on their official site but vintage ones can be found online.

- FLEETWOOD MAC — On Chapter.43 (2つの世界) , the cover of their 1977 album 'Rumours' can be seen. Thank you, Sumiko, that's my favourite band.

- IRON MAIDEN — On Chapter.43 (2つの世界) , the cover of their 1981 album '’Killers' shows up near the live house's exit.

- SEX PISTOLS — Chapter.43 (2つの世界) shows what seems to be the cover of a fanzine that circulated back in 1976. I have gathered some sources for the ones curious about it.

- TV GIRL— Also on Chapter.43 (2つの世界) we can see the promotion material for the band's 2014 album 'French Exit'.

- VAN HALEN— Promotion material for their Hot For Teacher single can be found on Chapter.43 (2つの世界). They had mini posters for each member and this one is Eddie Van Halen's (more here).

- MISFITS— The band's logo can be spotted at the ceiling on Chapter.43 (2つの世界).

- BLONDIE— A poster featuring frontwoman Debbie Harry can be seen on Chapter 44 (
What song was performed at the party? (no way it was creep)
Radiohead is mentioned again on Chapter 26 (好きな人は、女友達だった) when Aya is watching the performance. Turns out that two chapters prior (追いかけるよ), the last line said is probably a quote from a Radiohead song called "I Promise".

もう逃げない = I won't run away no more.
This song was released in 2017 on the reissue of their 'OK Computer' (1997) album, titled 'OK Computer OKNOTOK 1997 2017', so it was recorded in '96 and released 21 years later. It makes a lot of sense to say it's a lesser known song by them.
Music easter eggs on Sumiko's instagram (@agu_knzm)
- Mitsuki's Yearbook (?) photo: Spotify Code to beabadoobee's cover of SImple Mind's 1985 Don't You (Forget About Me). This song was part of the OST of The Breakfast Club.

- Narita's Yearbook (?) photo: A sticker of the American band DIIV logo can be seen in Jerkface Narita-kun's photo. Only found the oval logo in their merch, not in any album, but it could be my flawed research.

There is also this art that was posted on Twitter on Oct 2nd, 2022 where Sumiko imagines what it'd be like if the girls moved in together (because the author themself was in the middle of moving) where I am pretty sure Arai-san sneaked in a The Beatles t-shirt.

Another art posted on Twitter on February 26th, 2023 under the theme of "10 years later" (2013▶︎2023) shows a ~7 years-old Mitsuki wearing an Oasis. Present-day Mitsuki has a Deftones hoodie on.

Sumiko if you are reading this please mention Queen, Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden and… dare I say, Green Day? PLEASE MAKE A REFERENCE TO GREEN DAY.
Some people say that is a reference to 'American Idiot' but I need a direct reference to put them here.

There is a fanmade playlist with the artists/songs/albums mentioned

It was created by my friend and it is regularly updated. Please feel free to scan the Code.
