SmartLab Studio II - Install Steps

1. Connect to the VPN

1. This is required to download the packages as well as run the program
2.  You will use your UCR NetID to log into the VPN but you will also need to have an active ENGR account for the VPN to put you in the right place

2. Download the Smartlab Studio II iso file

3. Mount or extract all the contents onto your computer

4. Click on the Rigaku Install Launcher Icon

5. Select “Install SmartLab Studio II” option

6. Select “For Analysis ONLY” option and click Next >>

7. Click “Auto” to begin installation and click “Next”

8. Select “I accept the terms in the License Agreement” and click “Next”

9. Click “Install” to begin installation

10. Click “Finish” when completed

11. Click “Next” to install CodeMeter when prompted

12. Select “I accept the terms in the License Agreement” and click “Next”

13. Enter in desired “Username” and “Organization”

14. Choose to “Install just for you” or “Install for all users” on PC and click “Next”

15. Click “Next” to install all components

16. Click “Install” to install CodeMeter

17. Click “Finish” when completed

18. Right-click on CodeMeter icon in Taskbar

19. Select WebAdmin

20. Click on Configuration > Server > Server Access

21. Check that “Enable” is selected under Network Server

22. Click on License Access Permissions tab

23. Confirm “Basic” is selected and click on “Add”

24. Enter in “psmartlab.engr.ucr.edu” and Apply

25. Add new Server by entering in “psmartlab.engr.ucr.edu” in the Server Search List and Apply

26. Download the Crystallography Open Database (COD) files

27. Extract and then Copy/drag the files into the following directory:

1. “C:\ProgramData\Rigaku\SLSII\PowderXRDDB\User”
2. Note: Program Data folder may be hidden, so unhide your folders in C drive to locate

28. Double-click on the SmartLab Studio II icon

29. Login with “Administrator” and set a password to use software (recommend “Administrator”)

30. If you get a “No License” error, email Lab Manager as server may be down

31. You may get a pop-up window asking about the database connection, proceed to run without a database.

32. Download the Tutorials and Demo Data iso file

33. Mount or extract all the contents onto your computer
