Apple Crisp
Adapted from The Pioneer Woman
Ingredients
For the Filling:
3 cups apples, diced (about 6 medium apples)
½ cup sugar
2 tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
For the Topping
1 cup all-purpose flour
¼ cup granulated sugar
¼ cup brown sugar
¼ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
⅓ cup oats
6 tablespoons butter, cubed
¼ cup chopped pecans or walnuts
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Mix together the apples, ½ cup sugar, 2 tablespoons flour, and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Set aside.
- Mix together the flour, ¼ cup granulated sugar, ¼ cup white sugar, salt, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, and oats.
- Add the butter and rub it into the flour using your hands or a pastry cutter. Mix in the pecans.
- Pour the apple mixture into a greased 8x8 baking pan or pie plate. Sprinkle streusel on top, and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown. Let cool and serve.
