Course Description: This follow-on course to "Mapping Media to the Common Core: Part 1" highlights three additional multimedia products students can create, with teacher supervision and facilitation, to demonstrate mastery of concepts as well as skills included in the Common Core State Standards. (CCSS) . As 21st century educators, we should to provide opportunities for students to demonstrate mastery and understanding of the curriculum not only with text but also with images, audio, and video. In this course Dr. Wesley Fryer will invite and inspire you to become a better multimedia communicator and a pioneer with digital media.  You will learn how to “expand the map” of DIFFERENTIATED assessment options in your classroom to include student products including Quick-Edit Videos, E-Books, and Simulations or Games. You will learn practical ways to overcome the anxiety and fear which often accompanies technology integration proposals by creating personal media products. You will learn how to enhance your digital resume as a professional educator with examples of your own media creations as well as students projects you facilitate. Links to student media examples as well as project storyboards/tools are available on maps.playingwithmedia.com. Part 1 is recommendedl but not required. 

Intended Audience:  Technology coordinators, educators interested in differentiating curriculum, and administrators interested in sharing essential skills with students and staff in collabovative learning environment

Prerequisite Skills: Intro to iPad or basic skills of using an iPad including getting online, setting up email, installing apps, multitasking (switching between apps), copying/pasting, and screen capture.

TIME FOR EACH CONFERENCE:  4:30-6:00 pm (Mountain)

3:30-5:00 pm (Pacific) | 5:30-7:00 pm (Central) | 6:30-8:00 pm (Eastern)

COST:     $175 per person, or $125 for groups of 2 or more;  Includes a copy of Wes’ new interactive e-Book Mapping Media to the Common Core: Part 2.  (Required: Participants need access to iPad2 with built in camera.)

CREDIT:  up to 30 hours OPI renewal credit, 2 semester credits PENDING  ($135 recording fee)
