Assignment: Grading Workflow and Allocated Grader Moodle ISU


Introduction

Enabling Grading Workflow in an assignment allows an instructor to have multiple rounds of grading and control when grades will be released to all students. When Allocated Grader is combined with Grading Workflow, graders (student or teacher) can be allocated to particular students to support homogeneity of the scoring process.

This guide will help you to:

Turn on Grading Workflow and Allocated Grader

  1. Click on the assignment with which you would like to implement Grading Workflow and/or Allocated Grader.
  2. In the Settings Gear Menu, Click Edit settings.

  1. Scroll down to the Grade section.

  1. From the dropdown menu next to Use grading workflow, Select Yes.
  2. From the dropdown menu next to Use grading allocation, Select Yes.

To save:

  1. Scroll to the bottom of the page.
  2. Click Save and return to course to be taken to the course homepage.
  3. Click Save and display to be taken to the assignment.
  4. Click Cancel to delete any settings changes.

Use Quick Grading

Quick grading allows you to assign grades and outcomes directly in the submissions table for assignments. Quick grading is not compatible with Advanced grading. ITRC does not recommend using Quick grading with multiple graders.

  1. Return to the desired assignment page.
  2. Click View all submissions.

  1. In the Options section at the bottom of the page, Check the box corresponding to Quick grading.

  1. Scroll back to the top of the page.
  2. In the Grade column of the submissions table, there will be a text box to enter grades out of 100.

Note: After entering in grades, you will want to change the status of the students’ assignments.

  1. Find the student(s) whose assignment status you wish to change.
  2. Click the dropdown menu in the Status column.
  3. Select the status you want displayed.

Note: You can use filters at the bottom of the page to view certain statuses or markers.

  1. Scroll down to the bottom of the section.
  2. Click Save all quick grading changes.

Using the Allocated Grader Tool

Grading allocation is used in conjunction with grading workflow and allows graders to be assigned to particular students.

Note: To use the allocated grader tool you need to have selected Yes for Use grading workflow and Yes for Use grading allocation under the Grade tab in the Assignment settings.

  1. Find the student(s) whom you wish to assign a grader.

  1. Click the dropdown menu in the Grader column.

  1. Select the grader you want assigned.
  2. Scroll down to the bottom of the page.
  3. Click Save all quick grading changes.
