FW Johnson Student Announcements
From the VP’s Desk
ATTENDANCE: A reminder regarding parent/guardian phone calls to the office to excuse absences: we can only go back 5 school days to make changes. Phone calls for excusals after 5 days will be noted, but the official attendance data will not be changed.
When Marked Absent: Students marked absent from class, but were in attendance - it is the student’s responsibility to speak with that teacher to have attendance updated. The teacher will then notify the office via email. This includes when a sub teacher marks a student absent to speak with the teacher of that class.
If you are staying after school to wait for a ride, or waiting for team practice, you must wait in the homework room (218) only. If you choose not to be in the homework room, you will then need to leave/go home right after school. Question or concerns - please speak with Mr. Antonini

LOST and not found
There is a fair amount of lost items in the office that can be found under the counter
UPDATE: make sure you come and check for any lost items. Unclaimed items will be packed up AT THE END OF TODAY.
Smoking is not permitted in the building or on the school property.
Using electronic cigarettes at school is a direct violation of F.W. Johnson’s smoking policy and the City of Regina Smoking bylaw.
On July 15th, the City of Regina’s new smoking bylaw came into effect. It is illegal to smoke or vape (any type of product) on all city owned property. At Johnson, this includes the walkway paths in and out of the park that is adjacent to the school. For instance, the walkway on the west side of the building connecting to Fleet is a city owned path. It is now illegal to smoke in the pathway. The maximum fine for smoking on city property is $2000.
In short, the only place near the school where students may smoke or vape is on the sidewalk in front of the school (along Fines).
Parking/Drop Off/Pick Up
Parking: Students and parents are to park in the Student Lot on the east side.
Student Drop Off/Pick Up: Students getting dropped off at school are to be dropped off on the east side/Student Lot and NOT staff parking.
