I was sorry to be unable to attend the Debate in the Lords yesterday, I was asked  but  had to go Oxford on my husbands[1] behalf – From what I gather this morning. The result goes well for your husband so I hope the end of all these

difficulties is in sight. It would be merciful. I wish you would let me know when your case is coming on in the courts – should I be able to go & hear – or not!

 

You must be enjoying the beauty of the country now – for truly it looked a Paradise of loveliness yesterday – here – it is hot! I envy your [sons?] peace and repose. [illegible] so glad
