Patch Released! Unleash the Hounds nerfed!
A small patch was released, fixing several small bugs and nerfing Unleash the Hounds from a cost of 2 mana up to 3 mana. Zeriyah commented on the change:
"...we’ve seen many cards and deck types in the current state of the game rise and fall as players adapt, [and] we did not want to change Unleash the Hounds immediately. However, Hunter decks have become increasingly more dominant and are doing better than we are comfortable across many levels of play.
We do like the idea of decks that have a really big turn and pull off a sweet combo, but when playing against Hunter decks, you may feel punished too much for playing minions. Playing minions is one of the key, fun pieces of the overall Hearthstone puzzle, and feeling like your options are limited by the opponent creates a play experience that may not be particularly enjoyable.
After much consideration we have decided to increase the mana cost of Unleash the Hounds to 3."

PVP Live’s Tavern Takeover
This tournament was pre recorded before the Unleash the Hounds nerf. So there was still a good amount of Hunters played.
8 players competed for part of a $3000 prize pool. American player Realz defeated Savjz 4-1 with his Miracle Rogue deck. Trump came in third place, doing well with Gaara’s Druid deck and KitKatz’ Warrior deck.
Fun Fact: KitKatz’ Warrior deck was the only Warrior deck used by any of the players.

Amaan Malygos/Leeroy Rogue - this isn’t a popular deck but one of my students wants me to pass it along
http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/53485-amaan-leeroy-malygos-rogue
Key to the deck is the auctioneer in both types. With Leeroy you look to get health low enough to burst with Leeroy/shadowstep combo. With Malygos you save preps for Malygos/Prep/Evis/Bladeflurry/Sinister Strike.
Both decks are full of early removal to control the game until the burst is available. Malygos excels against taunt creatures but is slightly less consistent as you need to hold of on the preps which is a huge draw engine with auctioneer.
Leeroy deck has insane burst potential but a single taunt could prevent the damage getting through. Be careful to waste saps early on things like yeti.
How to beat it: You don’t. You just cry everytiem.
Seriously though, you hope they get a bad draw. Otherwise, you play more minions early to prevent them from having all removal spells once auctioneer hits the board. Play fast, you need them to be on the defensive but be careful not to fill the board to much against a bladeflurry. Ooze is great since a lot of them run assassin's blade. Some of the best decks against them are aggro hunter, zoo, watcher druid and handlock is actually pretty decent against the leeroy version.
Make no mistake though, there may not be a deck that beats a miracle rogue that gets the perfect draw.
Crazy Game Stories
Science!
Hey there Chickens, my name is Pete from Canada, and I've got a crazy game story for you.
So I'm playing handlock against a Paladin, it's late game, and I'm down to 9 life. The paladin is down to the last card in his hand which turns out to be a secret, which he plays, followed by his hero power to end the turn. On my turn, I throw down Lord Jaraxxus, which activates the secret, Repentance.
Not thinking the spell had affected Jaraxxus, I promptly attacked his 1/1 minion, only to see my hero explode, ending the game. In that stunned moment, I stopped to think what had happened, and realized repentance had worked it's magic on Jaraxxus, effectively giving me a hero who had a max life of 1, losing me the game with that fatal swing.
I hope you use this story on the show just in case there's other players who aren't aware of this. Love the show guys, keep it up.

Greetings and Salutations Our Fine Feathered Enraged Friends,
Quick question, sorry if you have already discussed this. But I would love to hear you guys talk neutral spells. Will we ever have them? Do we need them? I realize the battlecry mechanic, is basically the same thing plus you get a minion but do you think we will ever see dedicated neutral spell cards?
As always thanks for all the great conversation, information and laughs
Kai
Hello,
I heard you guys mentioned in the last couple of episodes about how many games you need to reach legendary, so I ran a simulation to find expected number of games to reach legendary rank with constant win rate and more realistic win rate.
Note: The realistic win rate scenario is assuming that your win rate decreases linearly from 100% to whatever percent you expected to do at legendary rank.
Interesting observations:
- With constant win rate you need 1385 games (50%), 278 games (60%), 154 games (70%), and 105 games (80%) to reach legendary
- Even with 60% win rate, you will need 122 games to reach legendary from rank 5 (compare to 923 games at 50%)
- Using realistic scenario, if you're expected to have 50% win rate at legendary rank, you will need 267 games to reach it
- You will need the same amount of games or more to go from rank 5 to legendary compare to going from rank 25 to 5
Summary: reaching legendary is a grind, unless you can win 65-70% of your game against high rank players
