Some of this is a “to do” list, other parts are more like a “to see” list. The more research I’ve done or time I’ve spent thinking about a place, the more specific the details are likely to be.  Some bullet points are vague (Japan??) and can use more details as time goes on, others are pretty specific and focused already (sleep on a beach in Hawaii).

In No Particular Order

USA

• Visit all 50 states

• Missing: Alaska

• Trek out of Fairbanks, AK, to see the northern lights and stay outside of the city. Polar bears, too.
• Lake Havasu, AZ
• Lake Tahoe (CA and/or NV)
• Sleep on a beach (in a hammock?) in Hawaii

Europe

• Train from Paris (or even London) to Athens
• Petra, Jordan
• Moscow, St. Petersburg
  Because Russia
• Kiev, Ukraine
  Also, Pripyat, where you’ll find Chernobyl
• Lapland, Finland
  More wint’ry travel plans!  Maybe California is getting to me...

Asia

• Japan
  This one will take some time and some trips, and will have to include

• Tokyo (as a tourist)
• Okinawa (birthplace of Kempo)
• The world’s oldest hotel (Nishiyama Onsen Keiunkan)

• Bali, Indonesia
• Angkor Wat, Cambodia
• Vietnam
• Mt. Everest
  At least Advanced Base Camp, even if I don’t climb (at first?)
• Bhutan
  Paro Taktsang monastery

Australia

• Train across the continent
• Darwin, NT
  For the crazies!

Africa

• Climb Mt. Kilimanjaro

• Okavango Delta
• Some sort of Safari thing
• Aswan High Dam
• Marrakesh, Morocco
• Madagascar

Central & South America

• Hike in Patagonia
• Hike the Incan trail to Machu Picchu
  And get over to Lake Titicaca “while I’m there”
• Guadalajara, Mexico (going back to my roots!)
• Motorcycle over the Andes from Santiago, Chile to Mendoza, Argentina
• Sea Turtles in the Galapagos Islands
• Easter Island

Antarctica

• Just Damn Get There (cruise-style?!)

Places I’ve Already Been

I’d happily do most, if not all, of these things again.

• Paris, London, Rome, Sydney, Tokyo, Cape Town and too many more to list
• Swimming with sharks off the coast of South Africa
• Reykjavik, Iceland
  For thermal baths, long nights and treks out onto glaciers, maybe we can even see the Northern Lights & drive the “golden circle”
• Running with the bulls in Pamplona
• Wine tasting in Napa, in Bordeaux, in Champagne, in Mendoza, in Barossa Valley, in South Africa
• Visited Buddy Christ in Rio
• The Pyramids at Giza
• Great Barrier Reef (from Cairns)
