These rules are for the Pacific Northwest American Microcar Association (PNW AMCA) and are not superseded by any other rules.

“All involved  in the sport of slot car racing should use common sense.”

RACING RULES

  1. Profanity or abusive language will not be tolerated. The race director will enforce this rule. See Penalties
  2. Repair on cars is allowed during the race except when running in a round robin race where a driver is occupying a sit-out position.
  3. Fluids of any kind are not allowed over the track surface
  4. Track calls:
  1. Track Braid up
  2. Power failure (one or all lanes)
  3. Debris in slot
  4. Unmarshallable car (a car on the floor is not considered unmarshallable, a car in the infield, under a track, or de-slotted in front of the drivers panel  is considered unmarshallable.
  5. Lap counter or track equipment failure
  6. Rider (Car in other than assigned lane)
  1. Braid may be reset and bodies straightened to raceable condition (if possible) during track calls. Track calls are NOT work breaks
  2. If you race, you must turn marshal! Turn marshals may be assigned to corners by the Race Director
  3. Lane Change Cards will be required for all racers
    * Cars which are not removed from track while work is being done e.g. during lane changes will not require a lane change card.

PENALTIES

The Race director has final discretion and authority over penalties.


RACING PROCEDURES

  1. Registration
  1. All cars shall be inspected and impounded prior to qualification
  1. Impound
  1. No work may be performed on cars at any time while cars are impounded with the exception of flattening braid prior to qualification and warm up.
  1. Qualification
  1. Order
  1. All Classes: determined randomly -OR- At the discretion of raceway Last to pass technical inspection is first to qualify. Amateur classes do not qualify and lane choices will be selected by random draw.
  1. Format
  1. Time - a one minute run is allowed to establish the fastest single timed lap. Back up times will be used to break ties. Amateur classes do not qualify and lane choices are selected by random draw.
  2. Each racer will be given a specified amount of time (not to exceed 15 seconds) to get hooked up and begin his/her qualifying round. Any registered racer not present to qualify when called will be placed in the last position
  1. Lane Rotation
  1. Rotation will follow European Lane Rotation
  2. Mains will be seeded by evenly distributing entrants by order of qualification. In the event of an uneven number of racers the faster mains will have the extra racers. e.g. with 15 entrants, the 7 slowest will be in the “B” Main, the fastest 8 will be in the “A” Main.
  3. Round Robin Option - In instances where it would be prudent for time constraints A round robin format may be run when there are 13 or less entrants.
  1. Lane Change
  1. Following each lane change, all cars must be returned to the track in the position they stopped. Putting the car on the track forward of its original position will result in a 5 lap penalty. At the conclusion of the race all cars are impounded and fall under control of the tech director and remain impounded at his/her discretion. Cars will be left on the track until the order of finish is positively determined.
  1. Black Flag
  1. The race director is obliged to black flag any car which is interfering with other cars, or continuously de-slotting due to mechanical problems. Upon being black-flagged, the driver must bring the car in for repairs immediately.
  1. Post Race Inspection
  1. Cars must pass a post race technical inspection, Cars that fail are disqualified. Entrant will forfeit any awards.

4" Production/Stock Car

Motors:

  1. Only ProSlot PS4002FK Motor is allowed
  2. Motor may be notched for axle clearance
  3. Brushes and Springs may be changed
  4. Shaft may be shortened on either end
  5. Motor may be soldered into chassis.
  6. No other modifications are allowed.

Chassis:

  1. Must be a commercially-available in RTR form. (no Cheetah 11, 24 or 25).
  2. May use 2 piece replacement pans.
  3. Stock Motor Bracket may be removed.
  4. Pin tubes may be added and chassis may be braced.
  5. Only bushings allowed - no ball bearings.
  6. Pan movement may be increased or restricted.
  7. Front wheel towers may be trimmed for lead wire clearance.
  8. A front axle is not required.
  9. Front wheels must be at least 1/2 inch (.500") diameter.
  10. lightweight pans allowed.
  11. Rear tire width may not exceed .810".
  12. No other modifications allowed.

Bodies:

  1. Must have Front and Rear Bumper
  2. Interior must cover entire cockpit area. No part of chassis should be visible in through any window

Motors:

  1. Only ProSlot PS4002FK Motor is allowed
  2. Motor may be notched for axle clearance

  1. Only mass-produced 4” "Flexi" style chassis allowed:
  1. JK: X25, Cheetah-21, Cheetah-7
  2. Champion: Turbo-Flex, Astro
  3. Parma: Flexi-2, Flexi-5
  1. Pin tubes may be added and chassis may be braced.
  2. Only bushings allowed - no ball bearings.
  3. Pan movement may be increased or restricted.
  4. Front wheel towers may be trimmed for lead wire clearance.  Front axle is not required.
  5. Front wheels must be at least 1/2 inch (.500") diameter.
  6. lightweight pans allowed.
  7. Rear tire width may not exceed .810".
  8. No other modifications allowed.

Motors: 

  1. Any production Group 10 C-Can motor is allowed.
  2. Armature must be a tagged Challenger, Contender, S16C, SWasp or Sportsman.
  3. All armatures must have a minimum stack length of .440”.
  4. Armature must have a minimum diameter of .510”.Armature may be reconditioned.
  5. Any manufacturer's armatures or magnets may be interchanged with any manufacturer's set-ups.
  6. Magnet clips are not required.
  7. Shunt wires and spring insulation is allowed.
  8. Magnets may be glued and honed.
  9. Can bushing may be replaced with a ball bearing.
  10. Motor may be soldered into the chassis.

Chassis: 

  1. Only mass-produced 4” "Flexi" style chassis allowed:

1/24 JRL Indy

Motors: 

  1. Any C-can based motor with any single piece, full height and length ceramic C-Can magnet.
  2. Any commercially available Superwasp, Stinger, Hornet, Sportsman, Contender, Challenger, or Competitor armature
  3. Superwasp, Stinger and Hornet armatures must have a minimum diameter of .510”, have a stack length of .350” and be wound with 60 turns of 30 gauge wire.
  4. There is no limit to maximum armature diameter.
  5. Sportsman, Contender, Challenger and Competitor armatures must have a minimum diameter of .510”, have a stack length of .440” and be wound with 55 turns of 30 gauge wire.
  6. Aftermarket aluminum end bells are legal.
  7. Can and endbell ball bearings are legal.
  8. May epoxy or super glue magnets in place.
  9. May interchange manufacturer parts.
  10. May notch cans and/or magnet for axle clearance.
  1. Armature may be reconditioned.
  2. Magnet clips are not required.
  3. Shunt wires and insulation is allowed.
  4. Magnets may be glued and honed.
  5. Motor may be soldered into the chassis.

Chassis:

  1. Mossetti, FX, Clark, Mack F1, HNR, JK JRL Indy car (Spring Steel Only)
  2. JRL top suspension piece may be bent or omitted.
  3. Pin tubes may be added.
  4. Axle ball bearings are legal
  5. Pan movement may be increased or restricted.
  6. Chassis may be braced with no more than 3" of up to .062" diameter piano wire.
  7. Front wheels must be at least .600 inches in diameter and at least .300 inches wide.
  8. Rear axle vertical location may be changed.
  9. Rear tire width may not exceed .810".
  1. No other modifications allowed.

GT-12

Motors:

  1. Any C-Can Group 12 motor is allowed.
  2. Armature must be tagged as a G-12 and have a minimum diameter of .510".
  3. Any manufacturer's armatures or magnets may be interchanged with any manufacturer's set-ups.             
  4. No International 15 magnets allowed.
  5. Magnet clips are not required.
  6. Shunt wires and insulation allowed.
  7. Can bushing may be replaced with a ball bearing.
  8. Magnets may be glued and honed.
  9. Motors may be soldered into chassis.

Chassis:

  1. Any chassis retailing for no more than $71.48 US is allowed.
  2. Chassis may be re soldered.
  3. Axle ball bearings are allowed
  4. No part of chassis may be removed except front uprights.
  5. Front axle is not required.
  6. Pan movement may be increased or restricted.
  7. Chassis may be braced.
  8. Front wheels must be at least 1/2 inch (.500") diameter.
  9. Rear axle vertical location may be changed.
  10. Rear tire width may not exceed .810".
