Week 1 September 12, 2016

In class we watched this video about Guy Fawkes

We made straw rockets to represent fireworks they set off on November 5, Guy Fawkes Day.

We also played a game about The Gunpowder plot to help them understand it better.

Below is the notebook work.

Table of Contents (please always fill in your table of contents so you don’t lose points)

Please print out 4 of these for each semester.(you can do spring semester later but please leave a page for this)

Here is a pic. Cut them and staple them together then glue in. You will have to do them for next semester on the next page but those can wait. So make sure you save two pages for this.

Page 1. Mary Queen of Scots

Page 2. John Knox & Why did James get the crown?

See notebook picture below for placement.

Please print these pages at these links

Mary Queen of Scots

John Knox

Cut the top and bottom of the notebooking pages to fit you only need the lined part and picture (about half the page). Glue Mary Queen of Scots on the top of page 1 and John Knox at the top of page 2

For Mary Queen of Scots list 3 (or more) important facts from her life.

For John Knox answer these questions.

Who was he?

How did he feel about Mary?
Do you think his views made a difference or influenced others?

Print the page at this link but you only need the why did James get the crown mini book. Cut it out fold in half and glue to the bottom of page 2.

Please tell how James got to be king of England as well as Scotland.

Please add color to your pages. Remember not adding color will lower your points for your notebook.  Also it is much easier to write and color on the pages before you glue them in. Elmers glue All is the best but any glue will work. Please use glue sparingly as the pages start to stick together and all when you use too much.

Here is a picture of my notebook so you can see the placement. 1st-2nd grade will not have the map at the bottom of page one. Your pages may take up more space since they are bigger lines.

For at home enrichment if you want more. Please remember I may have not viewed the full video.
