A Laszlo Portrait.
IN MRS. ASHLEY, who was a Spencer of Fownhope, and is a sister of Lady (Hamar) Greenwood, the Government has a delightful political hostess. She has all the charm and the beauty that Laszlo’s portrait [2234] gives her, and is as familiar with the age in which her husband’s ancestors lived as she is at home with the politicians of her own time.
After the wedding of Col. Ashley’s daughter Mary (Lady Louis Mountbatten’s sister) to Capt. Cunningham-Reid, M. P., Mrs. Ashley may be induced to write a history of Broadlands and its contents.
