Brrr. Winter comes a’knocking!
It’s already announced itself, but hopefully, you are prepared for it. Unlike me!
We had a pretty eventful October month. It started off with the bi-annual Highway cleanup, followed by a very special Halloween event - JSCNC-style! - and finally, what is becoming an annual event for JSCNC - the Raleigh CROP Hunger walk. We made some great memories and have some nice pictures to share on that.
For more details on all these, please read on,
Please also read on for an important announcement regarding lunch at the November monthly meeting.

NEXT MONTHLY MEETING
JSCNC is blessed to have a very solid volunteer base. If you are interested in serving in the Committee next year, please forward your name to Anand Shah.
Our center participates in Adopt-A-Highway cleanup twice a year. The statewide Adopt-A-Highway program was established in 1988 and is a joint effort between community volunteers and NC Department of Transportation to keep our roads clean. JSCNC adopted a stretch of Highway 54 in Cary between Morrisville Parkway and Airport Boulevard. This stretch is named in honor of Mr. Lalit Banker.
The tradition was continued this October 12th with the leadership of Priteshbhai Shah. A few captured memories for this at the link below:
Thank you to Priteshbhai for leading this event and Harshadbhai for providing the pictures.
JSCNC is one of the proud sponsors of Raleigh CROP Hunger Walk 2014. We had quite a good turnout from both individual sponsors and walkers.
Aside from the Walk itself, there were some other fun things to do prior to the Walk. All these were captured in pictures as well, and can be seen at the link below. I should also note, some lucky individuals actually even made it on the next day’s news! Can you find them in the pictures?
Thank you to Ajaybhai and Jayshreeben Shah for leading this inspiring event. Thanks also, to all who participated, both in monetary terms, and as walkers, to help bring forth the awareness of, and to stop hunger in the world we live in.
Halloween - JSCNC-style!
That’s right! A special JSCNC-styled Halloween! In the “spirit” (yes, pun intended) of Halloween, the Pathshala teachers came up with a plan on having our young come dressed up in various costumes - with a slight twist! To dress up as someone associated to our Jain religion. It was amazing to see all the different costumes. Better still, they came prepared with a description of who they were and what they are known for. The short, 15-minute event, also turned out to be a good learning tool of Jain History. Courtesy of Riddhish & Karishma Shah, we are able to bring to you some highlights of the event …
Panditji’s and Shri Shrutpragyaji’s discourses
Compliments of Kiritbhai Shah, we have received audio MP3s of Panditji’s and Shri Shrutpragyaji’s discourses from a few months ago. If you missed any of them or would like to hear them again, please download from the below link:
