2nd June, 1925.

My dear Mr. Winchester,

Many thanks for your letter of the 27th inst.[1] I leave on the 14th inst for a fortnight in Paris, and I would be very glad if you could find time one day, to come in to tea before I go. If you cannot manage this before I leave, I hope you will come later on, after my return on the 27th inst.

Regarding Sir Robert Gresley’s account – I wish to pay for all carriage expenses in connection with his picture [12907], but as far as I can remember, all the pictures of the Exhibition were insured, so I do not feel I should pay for anything else, so will you proceed, as you think necessary in regard to your out of pocket expenses, as it has nothing to do with me.[2]

I wish also to let you know about another matter; my Secretary wrote on April 27th to remind Sir Charles Markham[3] about my Honorarium [4730] and sent also a second Registered Letter on May 15th and there has been no reply whatever to either of them. This is the first experience I have had of this kind, and I just say I find it very unaccountable and discourteous.

As the business side of this matter was discussed with you, I would be very glad if you could write to him on my behalf, sending him a sharp reminder, pointing out that you are taking the matter up under these circumstances.[4]

Believe me,

Yours sincerely,

SMDL
