Healthy Active Living, Girls

This course encourages students to participate in a wide variety of enjoyable sports and activities. Students will improve their personal fitness and take part in a series of health related topics to provide them with the skills necessary to live a healthy active lifestyle. This course is strongly recommended.  Prerequisite:  None

Healthy Active Living, Boys

This course encourages students to participate in a wide variety of enjoyable sports and activities.  Students will improve their personal fitness and take part in a series of health related topics to provide them with the skills necessary to live a healthy active lifestyle.  This course is strongly recommended.  Prerequisite:  None

GRADE 10

PAF 2OX

Live Fit, Girls

A  participation  course  with  an  increased emphasis on personal fitness (aerobics, circuit training, power walking, strength training, yoga, Pilates and core training). Guest speaker/instructors  and  field  trips  to  various  fitness  facilities  will enhance this course.   Highly recommended for athletes.  Enhancement fee $10.  Prerequisite:  None

Power Fit, Boys

An introductory course focusing on individual fitness activities including; weight training, circuit training, nutrition and conditioning.

Highly recommended for athletes.   Prerequisite:  None

PPL 2OX

Healthy Active Living, Girls

A continued focus on team and individual activities. This course includes badminton, basketball, volleyball, outdoor games (touch football, rugby, lacrosse), dance, fitness, low organizational games and a variety of health topics.  Prerequisite:  None

PAD 3OI

Outdoor Education, Co-ed

Take part in the only course that teaches you how to be a skilled wilderness survivor.  Some skills offered will be skiing, canoeing wilderness survival, camping, tracking, rock climbing and more.  Course enhancement fee:  $185.  Prerequisite:  None

Live Fit, Girls

Do you want to learn how to get fit, stay fit, and feel good? Experience Zumba, yoga, cardio and more. This course will deliver.  Enhancement: $10.  Prerequisite:  None

GRADE 12

PLF 4MI

Sports Leadership. Co-Ed

This course enables students to develop the leadership and coordinating skills needed to plan, organize and safely implement recreational events and other activities related to healthy, active living.  Students will also learn how to promote the benefits of healthy, active living to others.  The course will prepare students for university and college programs in recreation and leisure management, fitness and health promotion, and fitness leadership.  Prerequisite:  Any Physical Education course

PPL 4OI

Healthy Active LIving, Co-Ed

In  this  course, students choose from a variety of physical activities including: biking, hiking, badminton, CPR, Sports Medicine, and rock climbing. The enhancement fee depends on choices made.  Prerequisite:  None

PSK 4UI

Introductory Kinesiology

The focus is on the academic study of human movement and development. The course prepares students for university programs in Physical Education, Kinesiology, Recreation and Sports Administration.

Prerequisite:  Any Grade 11 U or M course in Science or any Grade 11 or 12 course in Physical Education
