IV.PROCEDURES

A.Reviewing previous lesson or presenting the new lesson

Pupils sing “MgaAlaga Kong Hayop” using the appropriate

speed for each animal movement.

Ask the pupils about what they learned about finger

puppets.

What skills were developed in the activity?

1. Check the assignments by asking at least 3 pupils to read their answers

aloud.

2. Sing the action song that you learned from Lesson 1.

A. Routinary Activity:

1. The teacher checks the attendance by counting off.

2. Warm up Excercise

Refer to Quarter 1 TG Lesson 1

3. Review

Show flash cards with different combined movements and ask the

pupils to perform the following:

WALKING WITH

ARMS SIDEWARD

RUN WITH ARMS

UPWARD

SLIDE LEFT/RIGHT

WITH A TWIST

1.Awit

2.Pag-uulat ngliderngbawatpangkat

Wastongpaggamit at pangangalagasamgakagamitangpampubliko.

B.Establishing a purpose for the lesson

Prepare the pupils for another fun activity by making

another kind of puppet. Recall materials they used for their finger

puppet. Draw out from the pupils possible materials they can use

if they are to make hand puppets

Activate prior knowledge by asking the following questions:

a. Who is a pedestrian?

b. What road signals and signs do you see on your way to school?

The teacher holds a ball and shows it to the class

Ask : What do you call this object that i hold? (ball)

What do you expect i can do with the ball? (dribble, kick, pass and

catch)

Can you do it? (Yes)

Ano-anoanginyongdapatgawinupangmakatulongsawastongpaggamit at pangangalagasamgakagamitangpampubliko?

C.Presenting examples/instances of the new lesson

Look at the picture below.

Tell something about the picture.

Have you experienced riding on a train?

What is the sound of the train?

Discarded and recyclable materials are found anywhere.

These materials are potential materials in puppet making.

Different colors, shapes, and textures of the recyclable and

discarded materials can create variation and can affect the

quality of the puppet.

Present real puppets or pictures of puppets to evoke the

interest and imagination of the pupils.

Say:

Today we will make another puppet made of a paper

bag and other recyclable materials. (Show undecorated paper

bag.)

Ask the pupils to study the picture on Let’s Do This on p ____.

Ask:

a. Based on the picture, how will you cross the street?

b. How can a pedestrian be safe while on the street?

Note: The procedure should be delivered in MTB

Activity 1: Double Dribble

(Note: The teacher demonstrate the proper way of double dribble)

(Note: The procedures should be delivered in MTB.)

Directions:

Mark a distance of at least ten meters between the starting line and

turning point.

The players must stand in the column behind the starting line.

Each player kicks the ball until the turning point and dribbles up to

the starting line.

The starting player will pass the ball to the does next player.

The second player catches the ball and the same activity as fast as

possible.

The first team to finish wins.

D.Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills #1

Guide the pupils in this activity.

Tell them to share their experiences in making a paper bag

puppet. Encourage them to discuss with their classmates the

materials, structure,

2. Make instructional materials on road safety practices for pedestrians

and explain its use. (Refer to background information)

3. Instruct the pupils do Let’s Do This-Activity 2 on p. _____.

What movements did you perform? (standing, running)

What did you use in performing the activity? (ball)

How did you use the ball? (kick, dribble, throw & catch)

Did you enjoy playing with each other? Yes

a.Bakitdapatnatingpangalagaanangmgakagamitangpampubliko?

b.Bakit may mgataonghindimarunongmangalagangmgakagamitangpampubliko?

E.Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills #2

Activity 2: Game “Hit It”Directions:

Form three big cirlcles.

Choose a leader to stay at the center.

The leader dribbles the ball three times.

Pass the ball to the chosen player.

The chosen player catches and dribbles the ball three times.

The first player throws the ball back to the leader.

The Leader chooses again another player to do the same until all

members have played.

The member who does not catch and dribble the ball properly will be

asked to step out

.

F.Developing mastery

(Leads to formative assessment)

G.Finding practical/applications of concepts and skills in daily living

Let the pupils do the Activity 1 BE CREATIVE (see LM p.___)

“Pass it Please”

Directions:

Form three big circles with the pupils with standing side by side.

When the music starts, pass the ball clockwise.

When the music stops, the pupil who holds the ball stopsout of the

game.

Play the music again and start passing the ball until all the players

are done .

What did you do with the ball? (passed it clockwise)

What direction did you go?

Did you enjoy playing the game with your group? (yes)

H. Making generalizations and abstractions about the lesson

Why is using recyclable materials important in relation to

our environment?

(By reusing materials that can be recycled we help protect

our environment.)

How can variations of materials, colors , structure, texture,

and shapes affect the quality of your puppet?

(Variations of materials, colors, shapes, structure, texture,

and shape of the puppets makes the puppet attractive and

interesting.)

1. Create a scenario wherein the pupils will play pedestrians and apply the

different road safety practices.

2. Ask some pupils to act out some roles in road safety situations.

Example:

- Pedestrians

- Traffic enforcer

- Vehicles

- Stop light

3. Guide and ask the pupils to recite individually the different road safety

practices while crossing and walking on the streets.

Manipulative skills are done with the use of light implements. These skills can

also be a combination of locomotor and non-locomotor movements.

For fun and excitement it is also important to interact with people while playing .
