Work Experience
SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER
Google, New York, NY
September 2016-Present
- Mobile App Release Infrastructure: April 2021-present
- Currently work on the backend tooling team of Google's mobile infrastructure group, enabling easier development and releases for all our app teams at Alphabet, across both iOS and Android. Focus on DevOps components of mobile development, including my role as both tech and product lead for an internal launch service. Work on tooling for shipping iOS Apps to the App Store in a way that conforms to Alphabet policies. I also work on a metric ingestion system that interfaces directly with Apple's APIs. I also led and landed an effort to centralize our Apple system communication channels and increased overall QPS by 50x.
- Google Cloud Build: 2019-2021
- Worked on the backend of Cloud Build. I maintained and developed several internal services for our build triggering, results, and notification platforms. I authored and launched our open source notifications system at github.com/GoogleCloudPlatform/cloud-build-notifiers. Worked closely with our databases, internal frameworks, Search- and Cloud-based infrastructure, designing and deploying APIs, and monitoring and being responsible for production systems, including oncall rotations. Designed and launched a fault-tolerent, low-latency migration off of a pub-sub system onto a distributed queuing system. Promoted from L3 to L4.
- Build-Test-Deploy Infrastructure: 2017-2019
- Promoted from L2 to L3. Worked on the backend for our internal build/test result UI. Helped coordinate and design systems for our internal+Cloud convergence work.
- Golang Tooling Team: 2017
- Engineering Residency rotation: worked on scaling open-source refactoring tool to work on Google's monorepo using distributed system technologies.
- Engineering Residency rotation; worked on full-stack Go and Angular app that visualized results from a machine learning skunkworks project based on Maps data
- Hosted multiple summer interns (with stellar host feedback!)
- Worked on a 20% pro-bono project through Google's Internet org with STAR-TIDES in an effort to close the digital divide in NYC
- Received Superb (2019) and Transformative (2023) ratings, only given to the top < 5% of employees.
- Won Tech award for my effort in Google Photos backend work for the Android 12/Pixel 6 launch.
