Official Teaser Poster                                                   Official Theatrical Poster

This document will serve as a complete guide to rumors, spoilers, and eventually plot threads for Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Updates will end on December 9, 2017 when the world premiere takes place in Los Angeles (because even we don’t want the whole film to be spoiled for ourselves!). If you want to contribute any information to the project, feel free to leave a comment in the thread on Reddit or send u/JakeWolfe22 or u/ledzepfilm a message.

All information from official Star Wars channels, including footage, interviews, and behind-the-scenes videos, from Vanity Fair and Entertainment Weekly articles, and from MakingStarWars.Net, StarWarsNewsNet.Com (and any websites the two of them may deem reliable), are all fair game for this document.

Contributors have included creator, Redditor u/ledzepfilm, Redditor and occasional SWNN Cantina patron u/JakeWolfe22, and Redditor u/shine_o, who did a roundup of information from MSW’s podcast. Some older pieces were copied and pasted from MSW or Slashfilm for certain descriptions of shareholder screenshots. Special thanks also to Redditor and StarWarsLeaks mod u/JediPaxis for providing screenshots from the teaser. Screenshots from the theatrical trailer and ensuing storm of TV spots were taken and inserted by u/JakeWolfe22, and occasionally by u/ledzepfilm. Some information and analysis also owes credit also to SWNN Cantina users MagnarTheGreat and thehiredgun.

Please keep in mind that “confidence levels” are completely arbitrary percentages based on a combination of how much we think we’re missing, and how accurate we believe available information is. As a very, very rough and arbitrary guess, what you can read here is probably about 80% of the film, leaving roughly 20% open to any surprises that we may see and hear in the film, and, potentially, whole scenes and major revelations that we are completely unaware of at this time. For example, there is a very high chance of seeing at least one Force ghost in this film. We also know time will be spent at the actual First Jedi Temple, but we know nothing else about what may take place there. We also know Rey will encounter some sort of test or revelation about her parents, when she visits the Dark Side cave on Ahch-To. We also lose track of Luke completely, after Ahch-To, and what happens and is said in the last scenes on Ahch-To, most likely with the involvement of Kylo Ren, is largely a mystery, as is the ending of the film. So be aware that this isn’t “it”. We’re betting that Rian Johnson still has some special surprises yet in store.

OPENING CRAWL (And other info.)

• Will contain the word “decimated.” 20

Plot points extremely likely to be mentioned include: The destruction of Starkiller Base and the New Republic fleet (and/or Senate); the present evacuation of D’Qar; and most likely Rey’s arrival on Ahch-To, to bring Luke out of hiding, into the Resistance.

• Following the destruction of the Hosnian System, the New Republic is in shreds. Systems across the galaxy realize that peace is over and they must take a side. General Organa is no longer alone in the stance that the First Order is a legitimate threat to freedom and democracy in the galaxy and that the only choice they have left is to fight.

ACT I

THE EVACUATION OF D’QAR (Confidence Level: 95%) 25

• During the evacuation, Resistance forces include T-70 X-Wings, RZ-2 A-Wings, and at least 7 Resistance bombers (B/SF-17 heavy bombers), against First Order TIE/fo space superiority fighters, Kylo Ren’s TIE Silencer (TIE/vn space superiority fighter), and Resurgent-class Battlecruisers (Star Destroyers).

• u/ArmitageHux: “We pan down from space to a large Resistance cruiser hovering above D'Qar. Other ships are flying past it (or up to join it) for the evacuation of the planet.” 25

• Shots of the Resistance fleet inspace will be intercut with shots of the evacuating Resistance forces on the ground, including a scene with Lieutenant Connix, who tells Resistance personnel to not worry about minitions, and instead to focus on evacuation all personnel. 25

• During the Resistance escape from D’Qar, the key players of the Resistance are aboard the Raddus, a Mon Calamari ship.

• The Resistance now has RZ-2 A-Wing fighters alongside their T-70 X-Wings.

• Poe asks Leia for “permission to blow something up”, and Leia grants permission. 32

• By TLJ, Poe’s X-wing is refitted with new engines making it even better than before. One of Jason’s sources told him offhandedly that in IX, all the X-Wings might be upgraded to the newer engine that Poe has at the end of TLJ.

• The First Order’s Mandator IV-class Siege Dreadnought, the Fulminatrix, is tasked with laying waste to D’Qar with its orbital bombardment cannons. 24

• There are rusty, steampunk Resistance BB units called BB-2 and BB-4 on set. These Resistance BB units are not evocative of R2-D2 like BB-8 is. They’re almost steampunk in design, very brassy and beat up. 8

• First Order Star Destroyers jump out of hyperspace above D’Qar, as Lieutenant Connix looks upward, to the sky. u/ArmitageHux: “The camera follows her gaze back up to space and we see the dreadnought jump in right toward us. It then follows over to the Finalizer where Hux is issuing orders to destroy them all, and sending out a holoimage of his directive that there will be "no surrender" allowed, and [orders] Captain Canady on the dreadnought [to] power up the [ship’s orbital] cannons. Then, a First Order officer mentions to Hux that a lone fighter has flown up and is hailing them. Hux is pissed, but puts the transmission through, where Poe then calls him "General Hugs" and insults him over and over til Hux finally loses it and yells at everyone to destroy them already. Leia tells Poe to just leave and he cuts off her transmission and disobeys her direct orders. The battle ensues.” 25 32

• Paige Tico, Rose's sister, controls the turret in one of the Resistance bombers. There is a shot in the film where you see her externally in the turret. However, Paige is also killed during the battle. 25

• At some point, Poe’s X-Wing is damaged, and BB-8’s repair abilities are required. 32

• The Resistance manages to take down the Dreadnought class cruiser, either destroying or seriously damaging it. 25

• At some point in the film, an X-wing flies into a hangar, possibly the Resistance’s since it looked like another X-wing was parked there – with the nose of the X-wing flaring/popping upwards as the X-wing brakes quickly in the air.

• The Resistance successfully flee D’Qar, Poe lands his X-Wing on the Raddus, and the fleet goes into hyperspace. 24

• After this first battle, Leia demotes Poe to captain, for defying her direct orders, and acting recklessly. 24 32 Leia also slaps Poe across the face at some point in the film, most likely here, when she demotes him. 1

SNOKE’S ANGER, AND KYLO’S HEALING (Confidence Level: 75%)

• Following The Force Awakens, The First Order is now seen as a threat and no longer a laughable one, now that Starkiller Base has been destroyed. “Starkiller base [was a] big loss, but they did manage to take out the seat of the Republic and that’s thrown the galaxy into chaos. The First Order [is] jumping on that in the beginning of the movie very aggressively, not sitting on their hands, they’re making some big moves at the start of our film. So things are gonna get dire.” 4

• Kylo Ren has a hospital bed on the Mega Destroyer with an FX-7 style droid next to it. We could possibly see Kylo being revitalized after TFA while also seeing Finn getting revitalized. 2

• Snoke sees the destruction of Starkiller Base with as much significance as his victories. The First Order can no longer work in secret and Snoke is a key player on the galactic stage.

• Adam Driver, talking about Kylo, says that “I feel like almost everyone is in that rehabilitation state. You know, I don’t think that patricide is all that it’s cracked up to be. Maybe that’s where Kylo Ren is starting from. His external scar is probably as much an internal one.” 1 Adam also said TLJ would explore Kylo’s "humanity". 5

• Snoke was let down by Kylo when he failed to stop Rey. 3

• Following General Hux’s failure to destroy the Resistance at D’Qar, “Hux gets thrashed by Snoke, like, literally choked, lifted, and thrown to the floor, and chewed out right on the bridge in front of all his men” (u/ArmitageHux). 25

LUKE & REY ON AHCH-TO (Confidence Level: 95%; may intercut with/Resistance/FO scenes) 24 31 35

• Directly following the events of The Force Awakens, there is a close up of Luke’s hands as he grasps the lightsaber, with both hands, and takes it from Rey. Cut to a wider shot of Luke as he looks up towards the camera. “When Rey presents [the lightsaber of Anakin Skywalker] to Luke, he tosses it [over the cliff], hoping to lose it once more.” Luke then walks away. Rey is shocked by all of this, goes down to find the saber again, and spots Luke’s X-Wing, submerged in the water, realizing he neither wishes to leave, nor has any desire to speak to her. 24 31 35

• While Luke refuses to speak to Rey, he does speak to Chewie, who he is surprised to see. Luke asks if Han is there as well, but Rey tells Luke of what First Order warrior Kylo Ren has done. She also explains that Luke’s sister leads the Resistance against the First Order, and needs her brother’s help to defeat Ren and the Order. But Luke refuses to leave the island, or help the Resistance. 35

• Rian Johnson has confirmed that Ahch-To is indeed the location of the first Jedi temple. 1

• R2-D2 accompanies Rey to Ahch-To in hopes that his master will finally return, “and tries to stir Luke’s memories of better days as best he can”. 24

• Luke is reunited with Chewie and Artoo before eventually putting his “own spin” on guiding Rey.

TheLastJedi.mp4.mp4_000042873.png

• Rey is the one that really brings this non-blood family together after Han’s death.

• Luke lives in the huts of Ahch-To among the planet’s resident bird-like creatures called Porgs. We see hatchlings of them in the film. Chewie has fun and touching moments with these creatures. The Porgs were heavily inspired by Puffins. 2

• Ahch-To is also inhabited by a race of “Caretakers” called the Lanais, the females of which reside on the island, and the males of which are typically at sea, but make occasional visits to the shoes of the island. Flippered marine mammals called Thala-sirens are also present on the island, which are a docile, non-hunted species, and whom produce a “nutritious green milk” which Luke harvests. 24

• Daisy Ridley: “Rey has a certain expectation as to what she might be getting from Luke and what that might entail. And as a lot of people might know, it's difficult when you meet your heroes because it might not be what you expect” 4

• Luke is hesitant to train Rey. His reasoning, unlike Yoda’s, does not seem to be related to Rey’s age, but instead, presumably to his experience failing to train his own nephew Ben.

• Luke at first rejects training Rey, literally slamming a door in her face, beginning a battle of wills. 24

• Jason Ward of MakingStarWars.Net has seen Yoda props built for the film in the creature shop, but not Yoda himself. It is possible that Luke kept Yoda's belongings, but evidence has pointed to Yoda appearing in the film, with rumors existing of Frank Oz being in London for filming. Digital Sputnik, who produce high end lighting used for films, have stated explicitly that they have lit “both Jesus and Yoda” in film. Their lighting has only been used on Rogue One and the Last Jedi. The Facebook post that stated this was later taken down.

• While Luke has severed his connection with the Force, even as he resides in a place where the Force is so strong, news of galactic calamities “shocks him out of isolation”, and “the past will not be buried”, implying that Luke does, indeed (eventually) come out of exile. 24

• Rey follows Luke every day across the island, as he goes about his daily chores, but Luke refuses to acknowledge her presence. 35

KYLO’S TRAINING (Confidence Level: 25%)

• Snoke resides on the Supremacy, a Mega-class Star Destroyer which is the First Order’s version of a Super Star Destroyer. He wears a golden robe, and a ring with a black crystal.

• Snoke’s throne room is opulent and indicates that he cares about wealth. 3

• Snoke is protected by Praetorian Guards, in red armor but with Romanesque helmets. Each have different weapons including a double bladed staff, nunchucks, a sword, and a throwing weapon and knives. 3

justice league

TheLastJedi.mp4.mp4_000024283.png

• First Order Stormtroopers have slight modifications to the helmets from when we last saw them in The Force Awakens.

• There will be First Order TIE Bombers.

• There is a First Order officer named Captain Peavy, who was sort of older looking and snobbish.

• At some point in the film, Kylo Ren will share at least one scene with General Hux, as seen in the behind-the-scenes reel at 1:35.

FINN AWAKENS & THE FIRST ORDER TRACKS THE RESISTANCE (Confidence level: 90%) 25 34

• At this point, Leia’s fleet has mixed with Holdo’s fleet [source?], and the First Order has caught up with them, with a plethora of Resurgent-class Destroyers, and Snoke’s Mega-class Supremacy. 25

• Finn begins the movie in a “bacta suit”, waking up to the First Order fleet catching up with the Resistance 32 34. Finn’s first thought is to Rey, whom he last remembers was in danger from Kylo Ren. Finn needs to find someone he knows. Poe sees Finn, and explains everything that has happened since Finn was incapacitated. Leia then explains to Finn that they are on the run from the First Order and are now in deep space, untrackable after jumping to lightspeed. However, the First Order fleet then jumps out of hyperspace at their location, “with a plethora of Resurgent-class Destroyers, and Snoke’s Mega-class Supremacy”. 25 34

• By this point in the film, Kylo is done training with Snoke aboard the Supremacy, and jumps back into action, flying from the Supremacy in his new (at least to us) ship, the TIE Silencer. “Reminiscent in design of the Empire's TIE interceptor and Darth Vader's TIE advanced, Kylo Ren's TIE silencer is an angular fighter equipped with laser cannons and missile launchers. Ren is an expert pilot -- thanks to skills passed down from his father -- which he puts to use in exploiting his ship's speed and ferocity. There is no other First Order craft like the TIE silencer, and it is an effective tool in Ren's mission to destroy the Resistance” (From the Star Wars Databank).

• In the beginning of the follow shot, two torpedoes can be seen creating the explosions that damage Poe’s X-Wing. This would be immediately after the shot of Kylo flying through the Raddus’s structure, and this event and its placement here fit best with, first, Kylo still wearing a bandage, which he does not wear on Ahch-To, and second, MSW’s report that Poe takes on a more leadership-based role in the Resistance after his X-Wing is destroyed earlier in the film. (Thanks to SWNN Cantina member thehiredgun for analysis image.) This has now been confirmed by the “Rose and Finn's Secret Mission” book. 34

• With the fleet of smaller ships destroyed (Finn and BB-8 make it out safely), the fleet must get out of range of the Star Destroyers. 34

• The bridge of the Mon Calamari cruiser Raddus is destroyed, killing or incapacitating Resistance leadership. Leia is put into a coma, as originally reported by Latino Review, corroborated by a Russian film article 23, and as confirmed by the visual dictionary (also leaked a week prior to the film’s release), when the bridge is exposed to space. Due to the loss of the main bridge, forcing Admiral Holdo and the remaining Resistance leadership to locate to the Raddus’ emergency bridge. Holdo evacuates the Ninka’s remaining crew to the Raddus once its fuel reserves deplete. 24

• According to the original Latino Review report, “In one of the scenes shot in this stage, a ragtag group of Resistance fighters have seen some battle. Cut and bruised, they and Poe Dameron are on this ship when Laura Dern, playing some sort of captain or officer. She tells the fighters that they are the last of the rebellion/resistance (I’m unclear on the exact phrasing of the line, so no capitalizing the Resistance) and that Princess Leia has been gravely injured and is receiving medical attention.”

• Admiral Ackbar will be present in at least one scene, either before, during, or after the evacuation of D’Qar (as seen at 2:45 in the behind-the-scenes reel). 34 However, Admiral Ackbar is most likely either killed or incapacitated when the bridge of the Raddus is destroyed by the First Order, making way for Resistance Vice Admiral Holdo to take over when she arrives with her ship the Ninka. 24

• Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo has two outfits: A grey suit, and a lavish pink gown.

• Holdo, while an old friend of General Organa’s, who is leading another part of the Resistance fleet including the bombers we see in the teaser. 8 She serves as a foil to the Poe Dameron.

• Admiral Holdo and now-Captain Poe Dameron will now lead the remnants of the Resistance fleet through the galaxy as they attempt to outrun the First Order fleet, which is now known to possess the ability to track the Resistance fleet through hyperspace 24. This cat-and-mouse game will be central to the remaining plot of the film. Holdo broadcasts her “taking of the command” to the entire fleet.

REY VISITS THE FORCE TREE (Confidence Level: 90%) 35

• One day, while following Luke, Rey feels called to the Force Tree, and walks away from Luke. Inside the Tree, the Force tells Rey to touch the books, and then Luke appears. Rey tells Luke that both the Resistance and herself need him, and that, with the Force inside her, and not knowing what to do with it, she needs a teacher. But Luke doesn’t want to teach her, and explains that he taught Kylo Ren, and never wishes to teach again. Before leaving the Tree, Luke tells Rey it’s time for the Jedi to end”. But Rey continues to follow Luke around the island. Meanwhile, Chewie interacts with the porgs, who refuse to leave him be.

• The glove touching the Jedi book in the trailer is Luke’s (see 1:56 in the behind-the-scenes reel).

• Luke will tell Rey about her true connection to the Force and what it means.

• Luke asks Rey “Who are you?” in either a cave, the Force Tree, or one of the huts.

LUKE MEETS R2 AGAIN, VISITS THE FALCON (Confidence Level: 95%)

While Chewie makes friends with the porgs, Luke meets R2 again, for the first time in years, at the Millennium Falcon. 35 Luke walks into the cockpit and the lights turn on. To convince Luke of how much the Resistance, and Leia, need him, R2 replays “a message from long ago”. It was the old message from Leia, from 34 years ago, asking for help. “Luke had helped his sister then. And she needed his help again. Luke decided to train Rey. Luke would teach Rey the ways of the Jedi" meaning that, perhaps, he would “not be the last Jedi after all”. 31 35

FINN AND ROSE MEET, DECIDE THEIR MISSION (Confidence Level: 90%)

• Whether Finn is really a part of the Resistance or if he wants to run away is still a theme in the film, according to the panel at Celebration. 4

• Rose Tico is a maintenance worker for the Resistance who ends up going on a mission with Finn behind enemy lines. 1 According to the visual dictionary, Rose also watches the Raddus’ escape pods for potential deserters, “using her electro-shock prod to stun several within hours of the D’Qar evacuation”. 24 When Finn attempts to take an escape pod to leave and find Rey, he is stopped by Rose. When FInn awakens from being stunned, he explains to Rose that the First Order tracked them through hyperspace. Rose, is aware of this technology, and knows they could only have been tracked from a single source. Rose comes up with a plan to disable the technology on the Mega-Star Destroyer. Poe likes this plan, risky as it is. Knowing they would need a Master Codebreaker to get onto the Star Destroyer, Maz Kanata tells them where they can find one: Canto Bight, Cantonica. Leaving for Canto Bight, Finn and Rose don’t realize at first that BB-8 stows away, following them on their mission. 13 32 33

• A possible shot of the scene in which Finn and Rose receive their mission can be seen at 2:30 in the behind-the-scenes reel, with Poe. The scene may take place either at the end of act I, or here, at the beginning of act II. The visual dictionary does confirm that it is Poe, in a move against Admiral Holdo’s authority, who gives this mission to Finn and Rose. Poe also attempts to uncover what Holdo seems to be hiding from him. 24

• Rose looks up to Finn as a “big deal”. Finn and Rose get into an argument, and as she potentially walks away, Finn says “May the Force be with you”. [Source?]

KYLO REN AFTER THE RADDUS ASSAULT (Confidence Level: 50%)

• The following shots seem to occur after the above space battle, showing Kylo Ren’s frustration after he fails to open fire on his mother. His wingman fires instead. Kylo may believe his mother is dead or could die. 24

SPECULATION: This scene will most likely take place after the Assault on D’Qar, but could also take place after the Duel on Ahch-To, or after the Battle of Crait.

justice league

MISSION TO CANTO BIGHT (Confidence Level: 95%)

• Finn, Rose, and BB-8 must go to the city of Canto Bight on Cantonica, a city described by Rian Johnson as a “playground for rich assholes”. They are here to meet a Master Codebreaker, who should be able to get them aboard the Supremacy to disable their hyperspace tracking technology. 32 33

• Finn and Rose’s scenes at Canto Bight take place around Scene #132. 14

• According to Pablo Hidalgo, Canto Bight has “some people who have managed to carve out a life for themselves where they can live apart from the galactic struggle. They found a way to live above it or beyond it. There’s a class of wealthy that have helped build all sorts of loopholes in society that will always ensure that they’ll survive or even thrive no matter what else is happening out there.”

• There is no evidence that there is a funeral on Canto Bight, as very early rumors had claimed. 2

• Once at the casino, Finn and Rose attempt to find the Master Codebreaker, but are arrested once they find him and attempt to approach him. The two are then arrested for “crashing on a private beach” in their Resistance ship. In jail, they meet “DJ”, who claims he can break them out and get them onto the First Order Star Destroyer. DJ breaks them out of jail, easily, and the group find them BB-8, who had not been captured, has also tied up the three guards who were outside the cell door. DJ applauds the droid’s heroics. (The jailbreak scene is most likely the shot seen at 2:08 in the behind-the-scenes reel.) 33 34

• DJ goes unnamed in the film, and is so nicknamed because he wears a hat with Aurebesh that translates to “Don’t Join”, representing his philosophy of staying out of galactic affairs.

• “Finn fast-talks the stable keeper while Rose gets the Fathier (space horse). Finn climbs on and they race out.” This leak, typed from an MSW podcast, was disproved by the “5-minute Stories Strike Back: Captured in Canto Bight” book leak.

• After escaping jail, Finn and Rose get separated from BB-8 and DJ, and find themselves in the Fathier stables. The two take pity on the Fathiers, who are treated poorly when they’re not being used for sport. The two also befriend the stable boy, who wishes to aid the Resistance. As the Canto Bight Police finally catch up the them at the stables, the stableboy presses a button, letting all the Fathiers loose. Finn and Rose ride a Fathier out of the stables, pursued by the police all the way to a cliff at the edge of the sea. The police surround the pair, but are rescued by BB-8 and DJ, who had stolen a ship called the Libertine, to escape the planet. This ship is said to look like a cross between the Falcon, Amidala’s Nubian ship, and Star Trek, with a singular red pilot’s seat, a communal section and a table with a blue booth. 24 33

REY’S TRAINING (Placement unknown)

• Rey begins her training with the staff, before seeing the lightsaber in her bag and swinging it around. Luke watches from afar.

TheLastJedi.mp4.mp4_000054121.png

REY’S FORCE VISION (Confidence Level: 30%)

• Rey will likely have another Force-back in the movie, appearing to be a bystander to another scene of Luke and Artoo at the burning temple as seen in the trailer.

• These shots show shadows at an angle from the sun which seem more horizontal to Rey’s face than the the sun was in the previous shots in Rey’s lightsaber training scene. These shots are from slightly later in the day than the previous shots. See the shadow on Rey’s back in the second shot, the shadow of Rey’s nose in the third shot, and all of Rey’s shadows in the final shot where she awakens from her meditation.

TheLastJedi.mp4.mp4_000064583.png

• The following shot appears to take place after the previous shots, considering the longer length of the shadows, revealing a horizontal relationship between the sun and the rocks.

• Luke has a walking stick, a compass, an orange backpack, and a cattle prod. The walking stick could possibly be a training saber. 9

• Ahch-To has a culture, and there is a nun that is a reptilian pudgy looking creature. Luke and Rey run into a monastery, where the occupants know some kind of history. 9

• There is a scene in concept art where Luke meditates on a rock, and Ahch-To suddenly has two suns. It has since been revealed that Ahch-To already has at least two suns.

• It has been said that Rey has a sequence on Ahch-To where she fights a rather large sea monster. It has been suggested but not confirmed that Rey’s besting of the sea monster grants her permission to be at the sacred location by the Porgs. However, the sequences could be totally unrelated. 6 It is also worth stating at this point (just days prior to release) that no further confirmation of this sequence yet exists, and the closest thing to any “sea monster” we know of is a completely docile creature which Luke milks for a “tasty green milk” that he drinks.

AHCH-TO AT DUSK (Confidence Level: 25%)

• The following shot is of Rey at the mouth of a cave on Ahch-To which is strong with the Dark Side of the Force. She is drawn here without any introduction or instruction from Luke, and inside, she will face her fears about her parents, and the reasons why she was abandoned on Jakku “manifest themselves”. 24

At some point, Rey has a scene with Luke, and possibly Chewbacca, around a campfire or other light source. Chewbacca is seen at a campfire near the Falcon in the behind-the-scenes reel and “Set & Story” reel (at 1:05-1:11).

• In MSW’s trailer breakdown podcast, Jason mentions that he received on-set footage of Rey and Luke training in the rain, which is likely where the shot of Luke in the rain from the trailer goes.

THE RESISTANCE IS FORCED TO LAND ON CRAIT (Confidence Level: 25%; exact placement unknown)

• After attempting to flee the First Order at sublight speeds, the Resistance is finally forced to give up running, and land on Crait, where they will attempt to fend off the First Order on the ground, in order to buy time while Leia’s distress call hopefully reaches help. 24

SPECULATION: General Organa’s distress signal may be answered by any number of possible sources, including another Resistance fleet, leftovers from the New Republic’s fleet, Maz Kanata and a pirate fleet (least likely), or even by Luke Skywalker himself. The former two options are, of course, the most likely, though Luke’s role in the final act of the film is still a complete mystery, aside from Oscar Isaac’s comment that Mark Hamill’s performance “towards the end of the film” was amazing to behold.

KYLO REN ON AHCH-TO (Confidence Level: 10%)

• Kylo Ren’s TIE Silencer arrives and crashes on Ahch-To, possibly in the later half of the film.

• The set with the burnt ship and Kylo and Knights of Ren in Ireland could be Kylo's ship crashing and the Knights of Ren joining him in attacking Luke and Rey.

• Old rumors indicated that Luke battles the Knights of Ren with his green lightsaber and the Force, and Rey and Kylo fight near a cliff. 19 Rey fights either (or both) the Knights of Ren (or whoever the attackers on Ahch-To are) and/or the Praetorian Guards at some point[s] in the film (see 2:04 in behind-the-scenes reel).

• According to confirmed leaker u/Bothan-Spy, at some point before or after the Duel on Ahch-To, Kylo and Rey engage in a conversation which Luke “disapproves of”, leading to Luke (or possibly Rey) either purposely or accidentally “exploding a hut”.11

• Jason currently doesn't think the enemies who arrive on Ahch-To are the Knights of Ren, because the Praetorian Guards are so similar to them and none of his sources know anything about the KoR.

• SPECULATION: The stated similarities between the Knights of Ren and the Praetorian Guards could suggest the two are one and the same, but this seems unlikely, with the role of the Praetorian Guards being to protect Snoke, and the Knights of Ren fitting more of an “attack force” role. To fit the original description of the attackers on Ahch-To wearing black with medieval helmets, it is possible, if these are not the Knights of Ren, that the Praetorian Guards also have black armor, which they wear when they are not protecting Snoke.

• The Force Tree seen in leaked set photos on Ahch-To will catch fire. It is possible that Kylo could have caused this. Considering the falling debris behind Kylo in the last two shots of the trailer, it seems likely that a TIE or Star Destroyer strike is what destroys the Force Tree, as this is the only way debris would go into the air. Post-release note: The falling debris was actually from an entirely different scene, on the Supremacy. It’s funny to note how, based on the false report of Kylo setting the Tree ablaze, shots are interpreted in such different (but visually passable) ways, to fit available information.

• The following shots of Kylo take place after he sets the Force Tree ablaze (the shape of the Force Tree can be seen in the upper right corner of the first shot, and water can be seen glistening on the left side of the shot in the teaser). Post-release note: What looked like the Tree from Ahch-To was actually walker legs. It’s interesting to note how similar the two shapes looked in the red lighting of the shot.

• According to MSW, it doesn’t seem that Luke uses a lightsaber in the movie (or at least most of it) (source). However, there have been hints that the last act of the film may be a pleasant surprise to the contrary.

• Kylo is possibly what gets Luke and Rey off of Ahch-To and onto Crait. POST-RELEASE NOTE: From a certain point of view, this was correct. But ultimately, the idea was that Kylo would have actually transported them off of Ahch-To. However, Kylo never physically went to Ahch-To in the first place.

FINN AND ROSE INFILTRATE FIRST ORDER STAR DESTROYER (Confidence Level: 50%)

• Finn, Rose, and DJ (0:33 in “Set & Story” reel) go undercover as First Order officers to infiltrate the Supremacy, successfully planting and detonating explosives there. This is around sequence 213.15

Tom Hardy cameos as a First Order Stormtrooper who walks up to Finn, slaps him on the ass, and reunites with his old friend. He congratulates him for being promoted to a Resistance infiltrator and spy and lets Finn go.

• There is a shot of Finn and Rose, in uniform, on a First Order bridge (glimpsed in the shareholder footage, and possibly the shot visible at 2:11 in the behind-the-scenes reel).

REY WITH SNOKE (Confidence Level: 50%)

Based on the trailer, as well as the packaging of a toy set which includes Rey, Finn, Rose, Snoke, and the Praetorian Guards on Snoke’s Mega-Star Destroyer 16, we can naturally conclude that all will be present on the Supremacy at once. Aside from this much, all we can do is speculate as to when Rey arrives (before or after Finn and Rose). Rey is also seen in Snoke’s throne room in the trailer, and at 1:33 in the “Set & Story” reel. A fuller view of Snoke’s throne room can also be seen at 1:37 in the S&S reel.

• It should also be noted that Rey’s facial wound, which is present on Crait later (see: behind-the-scenes image of Daisy Ridley and John Boyega on Crait set), is not yet present, in her scene with Snoke.

At some point, Rey uses the Force to take Kylo Ren’s lightsaber!

FINN AND ROSE SUCCEED IN THEIR MISSION (Confidence Level: 50%)

• The following shots take place as the First Order Star Destroyer is blowing up, after Finn and Rose have succeeded in their mission.15

• The probable sequence of the Supremacy section of the film (with exact wording courtesy u/GregThePrettyGoodGuy) appears to be:

  1. Finn and Rose arrive on Supremacy. At least Finn is captured
  2. Rey arrives on Supremacy with Kylo Ren
  3. Confrontation between Rey, Kylo, Snoke, and the Guards occurs. Ending unknown, but the room is in flames, and Kylo and Rey are still around and apparently in no present danger. Kylo reaches out. Outcome unknown
  4. Roughly concurrently, Finn and Phasma fight as at least part of Supremacy begins to blow up. Outcome unknown, but likely results in Finn’s victory
  5. Rey, Finn, and Rose reunite, and head to Crait together
  6. Kylo reunited with the First Order, and they prepare to assault the Resistance Base on Crait

Finn, Rey, and Rose appear to escape the Star Destroyer at what seems to be the same time, as all are known to be on Crait at the end of the film. However, it originally seemed likely that Rose would die on the Mega Star Destroyer, as a leak from the proven leaker known as u/Bothan-Spy reveals Finn, in an act of revenge, severs Phasma’s arm. This is also apparently “not the worst that happens to [Phasma]”. Regardless of this implication, Rose is later seen in a ski speeder on Crait, in a November TV spot. 17, 18

SPECULATION: Options now appear to be that Finn, Rose, BB-8, and possibly DJ (who very well could die on the Supremacy) may escape on the Libertine, and that Rey (and possibly Chewie?) may escape on the Falcon, or all involved (all involved who survive, anyway) could escape on the Falcon at once.

• At some point, Rose shares a night scene with the Millennium Falcon, per 1:47 in the behind-the-scenes reel. With the Falcon not entering the Resistance story until after Rey leaves Ahch-To, at the earliest, and the Falcon being present with the Resistance on Crait, Rose’s scene likely takes place after the Battle of Crait.

SPECULATION: A shot of a Star Destroyer bridge mid-explosion can be seen at 2:29 in the behind-the-scenes reel. This shot may take place either at the Assault on D’Qar, or when Finn and Rose succeed in their mission.

CRAIT (Confidence Level: 50%)

• As seen at 1:38 in the behind-the-scenes reel, there will be a shot of C-3PO standing in a Resistance base with blown-out windows behind him. (SPECULATION: This scene most likely take place on Crait, as it makes sense for a Resistance base to have blown-out windows if it were either under attack, or were an abandoned Rebel base.)

• The First Order assaults the Resistance base on Crait, an uncharted salt flat planet, home to what was previously an abandoned Rebel base. Crait’s red minerals, once mined by use of Ski Speeders, used to provide funds for the Rebellion.

• The Resistance somehow uses the base’s abandoned ski speeders against the First Order. This strategy appears to be unsuccessful, judging by the close proximity to the base which the First Order AT-ATs and AT-M6s (“Gorilla Walkers”) gain.

• Along with their walkers, the First Order brings a superlaser weapon, pulled by many-legged haulers. 24

• Prior to the battle, the base’s blast doors are closed, as Leia stands by. Crait’s native animal life retreats into the base, fleeing from the battle that is soon-to-come.

• The follow shot is of Poe Dameron walking onto the salt flat of Crait. These boots match the images of Poe’s boots which we have available already. POST-RELEASE NOTE: The boots are apparently standard issue for the Resistance. This was General Caluan Ematt. This is also where Gareth Edwards had his cameo.

• At some point in the battle, Poe skids across the surface of Crait, into a trench, in order to avoid a ski speeder that hits/skims the ground (as seen in the “Set and Story” reel, at 1:35-1:36).

• Meanwhile, Chewie and a porg evade TIE Fighters on Crait, both in the air and in the mines. Artoo could also be present on Crait (1:37 in the BTS reel). Rey mans the Falcon’s turret. 24

• While in the mines, the Falcon’s radar dish is, once again, lost due to scraping against the structure of the body it is flying within. She can be seen sans-dish in the shot in which she escapes the mines.

SPECULATION: The shot of Chewbacca standing on the bridge of a Resistance ship, as seen in the behind-the-scenes reel at 1:17, most likely takes place either before the Battle of Crait (after Rey leaves Ahch-To), or after the possible evacuation of Crait.

• Rey and Finn reunite either on Crait, or on the Supremacy just before Crait (per the Lego Gorilla Walker leak, the D23 BTS reel, and an interview with John Boyega). It is unknown at this time if Luke will join them.

• Early rumors concerning Crait included rumor of a “First Order Snowtrooper General”.

• Will Luke make a comeback, and use his lightsaber, or could he die? 1) Mark Hamill has said, in response to the question “how does it feel to pick up a lightsaber again?”, that it was “terrifying” 10. 2) Mark Hamill has stated that he and others were presently taking lightsaber classes for The Last Jedi, where they all did a lot of the “lightsaber twirl” move 30. 3) Oscar Isaac has made comments to Vanity Fair stating that Luke may in fact wield his lightsaber “towards the end of the film”, where “it was amazing to behold” Hamill’s performance (at least on Crait, where Isaac and Hamill would have most likely shared a set, and where Rey is known to be at the end of the film as well, per D23’s behind-the-scenes reel). 1 4) The third-to-final track on the soundtrack is called “The Last Jedi”, which could suggest that Luke will make a comeback when the Resistance is at their most desperate 26. Judging by Colin Trevorrow’s previous comments to ET, that Luke and Leia were both meant for larger roles in his Episode IX, we can safely assume that Luke at least survives Episode VIII 29. POST-RELEASE NOTE: Whether or not Luke has died and will return as a Force Ghost, or has somehow transcended and will return in a more usual human form, is currently unknown. The last shot of Luke seems open to some interpretation, given the way he has been discussed in relation to the size and importance of his role in IX, particularly with Carrie Fisher’s death. 5) Rian Johnson has gone so far as to suggest that we may see a “new hue” in The Last Jedi, which may be in reference to Luke’s green lightsaber making a surprise appearance for the first time in the trilogy 27. 6) Mark Hamill has repeatedly teased the question of whether or not he will use his lightsaber in the film 28.

THE ENDING (Confidence: 5%)

• “[The Vulpteces] live within the burrows and within the tunnels beneath the planet,” Scanlan says. “So there is a time where their ability to shine within the darkness, should provide a guiding light to our heroes.” 21

SPECULATION: The Vulpteces may be helpful in a (purely) theoretical Resistance escape from Crait. Their role in the film, and the result of the Battle of Crait, remain unknown.

• The proper placement of the following shot of Kylo Ren is unknown. However, judging by his lack of bandage, and the healing of his scar, it does appear to take place closer to the end of the film. POST-RELEASE NOTE: Kylo lost his bandage earlier in the film than previously realized. This shot takes place after his shot standing in front of the Supremacy hanger, during his scene with Rey from Ahch-To.

Speculation: As glimpsed in the USA Today BTS video (at 0:13-0:14), Poe, Rey, Artoo, and Threepio will all share a scene aboard the Falcon at some point by the end of the film. Given Poe and Rey’s outfits (and the bruise on Rey’s face), they may be leaving from Crait on the Falcon.

• One rumor from a source ‘that usually got things right, but not all the time’, claimed “Luke goes for Snoke and Rey goes for Kylo”, parting ways shortly before the film ends. The source stated this happens in the form of a brief ‘you go after Kylo, I go after Snoke, meet back at this place’ conversation. 9

• Based on a statement made by Rian Johnson, Luke and Leia may indeed share a scene on the Falcon together at some point in the film, reuniting most likely towards the end of the film. 22 An article by Entertainment Weekly has also teased that a Luke and Leia reunion in the film is still possible.

OTHER

• There's a rusty black looking shipping container that BB-8 gets shipped in, possibly to sneak him into somewhere, like the Supremacy.

• According to Star Wars News Net, Tatooine, Endor, and Mustafar were set to appear in either or both Episodes VIII and/or IX (at least prior to IX’s script changes).12 This information has since been revealed to us by SWNN to have come from a source whose information was not trustworthy.
