Teresa "Polly" Powell 1930 - 2009 Teresa "Polly" Powell, 79, of Lakewood, CA, passed away Sunday, November 15, 2009, in Merriam, KS. Polly was born November 10, 1930, in Kansas City, KS to John E. and Agnes (Etchingham) Tolin. She was a member of the St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church and the Lakewood YMCA. She worked for Long Beach Unified School District as a cafeteria supervisor at Bancroft Middle School. Polly was preceded in death by her husband, Evan J. Powell in March 2006. Survivors include her son, Mark Powell (Cheri), Henderson, NV; two daughters, Cynthia Triesch (Nicholas), Chula Vista, CA and Jeanne Powell, Long Beach, CA; sister, Lois Moore, Shawnee, KS; brother, Robert Tolin, Overland Park, KS; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and Penny the dog. Funeral services were held on Friday, November 20 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Maria Goretti Church, 3954 Palo Verde Ave., Long Beach, CA 90808. Interment followed at All Souls Cemetery.
