[1] In June 1925, de László received a letter from Lord Elibank commissioning a “small portrait” of his wife for ₤300. Lord Elibank requested that he may be allowed to make payment in installments, the first in October and the second in March of the following year due to “a good many financial responsibilities which I cannot evade!” (see DLA067-0035, letter from Lord Murray of Elibank to de László, 15 June 1925).
[2] De László was in America from October 1925 to April 1926.
