The Benson Memorial Library Scanning Station is a library service offered to anyone who wishes to scan their own personal documents, photographs, and more at a high quality. Any images deemed inappropriate, lewd, offensive, etc., with the exception of graphic images with historical relevance (e.g. Holocaust images, etc.)  will be removed and scanning privileges revoked.

STORAGE

Each patron who uses the Scanning Station has the option of donating a digital copy of their scanned items to the Benson Memorial Library to help the library build a Local History Digital Collection. The Benson Memorial Library will never sell or commercially use any items in the Local History Digital Collection.

USE

Patrons of the Benson Memorial Library will ONLY be able to make copies of items in the Local History Digital Collection that have been given written permission for reproduction by their copyright holders/donors. Since the library does not require that patrons receive its permission before using an image, patrons only need permission of the copyright holder/donor. The items that I am scanning into the Local History Digital Collection may only be used in the following manner:

1. In-library research by staff or patrons with or without reproduction
2. Benson Memorial Library Digital Exhibitions that can be viewed online
3. Reproduction for noncommercial purposes
