The Christ Saves Hearts Scholarship Program was established in 2016 to provide college scholarships to graduating NC Triangle high school seniors who have been directly affected by heart disease. The scholarships available are non-renewable awards of (one) $1,000 scholarship and (two) $500 scholarships. These scholarships will be applied to the cost of undergraduate tuition, fees, room and board, and other college expenses. CRITERIA: To receive consideration, applicants must: • Be African-American, Hispanic, or other minority • Have a minimum cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.25 • Demonstrate financial need, but not restricted to lower family incomes (student’s merit will be considered to a greater degree) • Attend a U.S. accredited college or university beginning in the fall of 2018 in pursuit of a baccalaureate degree • Reside in one of the following counties: Chatham, Durham, Johnston, Orange, or Wake

Ron Brown Scholar Program

The Ron Brown Scholarship is a $40,000 award.  The program seeks to identify African-American high school seniors who will make significant contributions to society. NC Teaching Fellows: The North Carolina Teaching Fellows Program is a competitive, merit-based forgivable loans for service program that provides up to $8,250 a year for up to four years to highly-qualified students committed to teaching special education or a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) field in a North Carolina public school.  The partner schools inclue NCSU, UNC-Chapel Hill, UNC-Charlotte, Elon and Meredith.  Visit to apply.

WACE Cooperative Scholarship Program

Scholarship/Co-op program for students interested in Clarkson University, Drexel University, Merrimack College, Rochester Institute of Technology, Oswego SUNY, Univ of Toledo, Univ of Cincinnati, Wentworth Inst. of Tech, and UMASS Lowell.   Must apply to college by the university deadlines and apply for the scholarship by February 15, 2018.  See for more information.

BigSun Scholarship:

The BigSun Organization is proud to be able to continue to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits. We are offering an annual scholarship to a deserving student. All student athletes are eligible for this award, regardless of which sport they are participating in.The successful applicant will be a high school senior or be attending a post secondary institute and currently involved in some sport at that institution or in the community.  Amount of Award  -            $500.00
