Welcome to Agent of Nothing. At the end of January the Council is going to make their move to reclaim SHIELD from Nick Fury. They will attempt to take Nick Fury into custody to no avail. Instead what will set up is a battle between Fury and SHIELD that will last for several months before they will eventually retake SHIELD.
But the Council hasn't just just come up with this on their own. They have been infiltrated by HYDRA and now are unsuspectingly working towards HYDRA’s own goals.
Agent of nothing will last from three to four months depending on how everything plays out. It will involve mostly SHIELD but will also have interactions with the avengers and others within Stark Tower. We have been working on this plot as an idea nearly as long as I’ve had Fury, so let’s all make this AWESOME!
NOTE: The Network will remain secure cause even though in real life it would be very silly and HYDRACOUNCIL’s first target that would be lame if we took away one of the main points of interaction. Though agents in hiding would have to use filters.
Calendar
January 27th- Agents of the Council arrive at SHIELD with the purpose of taking Nick Fury into custody. After a standoff in his office, Fury disappears and goes into the wind. Sitwell, Coulson, Widow, and Hawkeye contacted specifically.
January 28th- Hill receives a message delivered to her by a child as she’s walking to work. It simply says “Sit tight” She is placed in charge of SHIELD.
Agents to be replaced/escape (happen from 27th-31st)
- Jasper Sitwell- Will receive orders to destroy parts of their research facilities as well as locking out security systems. Relocated to a safe house.
- OKAY SO I NEGOTIATED WITH DAWN.
- Jasper will
- physically delete, damage backups for, and take down personnel information on any agents in deep cover / named by Fury / or just everyone so they can't be like "arrest everyone not in the system," the refugee tracking capabilities, info on HYDRA, key case files, some of science's more dangerous projects completely.
- Backup exists in Kabul Afghanistan, Coulson's team to secure it.
- Locking out password access to certain parts of the network necessary to repair it / all IT user accounts
- Maybe uploading a cryptolocker virus that will delete/change any other data until it's stopped as he leaves? If he did this late at night, it could have 5-8 hours before anyone could even start get to it.
- Sabotaging cooling to the backup server or doing more physical damage.
- Taking the Tesseract weaponry, a few other critical protocols, and lab notebooks for… key scientists? with him as he leaves?
- Add/Subtract anything?
- So pretty much in repairing it. The primary immediate problem will be the physical damage to the backup server. Then it'll be getting into the system. Then it'll be realizing that there's a virus (which lol could infect Caprica if Immora wanted). Then it'll be figuring out what's missing or worse, changed. This is so sexy I can’t even handle it. bb. When you ask Jasper Sitwell to do crime, Jasper Sitwell do crime.
- Clint Barton- Will receive orders to relocate. Aww yeah relocating refugees after stealing the tesseract. WOOOOO
- Immediate removal from SHIELD via Fury (stay in contact with Widow)
- Stealing le Tesseract
- Overseeing the hideout with said tesseract (Relocating refugees to Stark without them spilling the beans.)
- Avengers- Security lock out. Captain America will receive a visit from CLINT BARTON explaining some of the situation.
- Phil Coulson + Team- (includes FitzSimmons, May, and Ward). Given the order to not touch ground. List of countries without extradition agreements with SHIELD provided to continue work.
- Secure SHIELD backup server Kabul Afghanistan. Jasper is going to delete a lot of files with no other back up copy which Fury will probably want back. So, clearly there's an offline backup server in a place Jasper feels comfortable that isn't easy to get to. Phil's team will need to secure it without alerting SHIELD and before SHIELD finds it themselves. You got it buddy. o/)
- Pilot -- they grab Skye, see Mike Peterson,
- mid month-- Head to DC to meet up Jasper, visit Triskelion to talk about Centipede.
- 0-8-4 -- South America. Tesseract tech, perhaps play up a HYDRA relation particularly since we've had similar activity in the area in game. This could reveal information that tips off that HYDRA is calling the shots at SHIELD and help Fury et al take it back.
- Graviton Origin -- new SHIELD arranges transport for Dr. Ian Thomas. A third party (centipede related?) interferes and takes him to Malta. Coulson's team follows up on this. No skye but…. Ward could get in maybe? idk. May could?
- Eye Spy--rescue Akela Amedour in Belarus. Recruit? She's apprehended by actual SHIELD? Fury sends a retrieval team and she chills with them?
- Then start on Centipede arc? Works for me! A thought would be they could try to turn against Fury by hinting what we've seen on the show, that Coulson didn't have a miraculous return like he thinks. It might shake his confidence, or at least he can make a pretty good show of it. I think he'd of course stick with Fury no matter what, that'll always be where his loyalty lies, but the ~mystery~ is a problem. If we get more info on this through the show while this plot is going on I’m up for that. But right now I think we still have too much hanging in the air at this exact moment. Since we still don’t know WHY Fury did what he did. So it basically leaves me in the I’m not sure how Fury would react XD And a lot of that info would be with the stuff that Jasper would take out when he leaves. But I’m all for hinting at least. Well to be fair, we'll be into like Marchish at earliest before we get deep into Centipedes. We'll play it by ear. Whether that happens or not, it wouldn't keep Coulson from being completely loyal to Fury tho. So it's all good. :)
- Nick Fury (616)- Will probably go underground before it they try to make him redundant. Well I imagine he’d be one that Fury would give immediate word to get the hell out of there. Or leave the LMD >.>
- Nick would go underground pretty quickly. I mean, he pretty much lives his life so he could go underground at the drop of a hat. ANYWAY. Since he does have the LMD, he might contact Nat or Jess about arranging a "meet" for "aid" and let her give him up to SHIELD.
- Natasha Romanova (616) -- I'm not worried about Natasha. She pretty much lives her life without telling anyone where she is. However, as a refugee, they're all bugged. This might be a good time to out some of that to the people who are refugees in this group. Bucky and Nat would understand, btw, but likely not be too thrilled about it and want it out thing. Or at least clone the signal and fake a trail with it. I had been thinking Jasper would just take down the tracking system. But… it is likely that for people who don't go underground immediately, SHIELD might bring in all refugees and set up some new system. Rescan the tracking devices or something. So anyone who goes underground in like February or March or whenever would need to have theirs disabled. Also now that I'm here. What about chipping new refugees? HYDRA!SHIELD would totally chip them, yo. RIGHT? Right. But I mean after the Tesseract is stolen. Would Fury's tiny apartment of SHIELD still chip them? It could be some of the tech that Jasper takes with him? Or something stolen with the Tesseract. I’m okay with them not doing it while this is going on!
- Natasha Romanoff (MCU) -- ATM leaning towards having Natasha join the rest of Fury’s girls in remaining within SHIELD. Could perhaps function as the main liaison between Hill and Fury? Natasha specifically was less positive about Fury than she really is specifically for reasons like this. She would certainly stay unless forced out. She likely has means set up for staying in contact both with Hawkeye and Fury that she has failed to bring to SHIELD’s attention.
- Remaining at SHIELD (Stay in contact with Hawkeye)
- Stealing le Tesseract She was involved, in the comics, in facing Hawkeye in his infiltrate the helicarrier mission. “Failed” attempt to stop him?
- Liaison between Fury and Hill.
- Main contact for anticipating agent arrests.
- Asgardians (?) -- So the Asgardians are sworn to protect the Tesseract and could prove useful based on their potential "knowledge" of the Tesseract.
- Remain as guardians pending cooperation with SHIELD work on the Tesseract.
- Attempt to steal the tesseract either alongside/interfering with Widow and Clint?
- Conversely, I could see Thor siding with SHIELD/against Fury's team to keep Jane safe.
- HTF (MCU Stark, Carter, Rogers, Barnes, Barton, Romanoff, Coulson; 616 Fury, Romanova, Barnes, Rogers, Carter, Drew) seem suspect. Obviously Peggy Carter is Foxtrot so might be able to spare one or two?
- Obvs Coulson, 616 Fury, and Barton have been discussed
- Howard Stark could be interesting. I think we should talk to Anna about how to swing him. I mean either he could be very dangerous. Or they could possibly appeal to him in a more "returning SHIELD to your vision. Bone china on every Helicarrier!" type way. He could potentially take a pretty significant role in R&D with Jasper gone. (INTERESTING. Tell me more.) Well I'd been thinking a modern take on a continental setting. Navy trim, silver embossed SHIELD insignia at the top. You should see the matching silverwa--you mean in R&D? Well so. I think based on the comics Project PEGASUS (the Tesseract weapons/energy source) is a major priority of the WSC. Also, since this is the Council as influenced by HYDRA. Weapons development is going to be a big push and that's the random weapons project Jasper put forth to R&D a few months back if you can recall :D. But I think with the way he's leaving, he's going to try to sabotage that as much as he can. They'll need someone in the know to rebuild. And what better weapons developer has the 20th century had? You know. besides arguably Howard's son.
- Jessica Drew, and Sharon Carter I could see going either way I'd say leave Sharon up to Rebecca? But J. Drew's probably who Fury would want as his double agent :D
- 616 Bucky and Nat are largely consultants so could be sidelined unless they actively tried to woo SHIELD?
- MCU Bucky?
- People who rated absolute confidence in Fury on the evaluation: 616!Fury (Haha. It's okay. Fury just answered five because fuck them for asking), Mordecai, Clint Barton (who was trying to not get either of them fired) Oops?, MCU Rogers (which is funny cuz he lied), Dorcas Meadowes, Christine Chapel, Walter Blythe, Buffy Summers
- Christine Chapel just turned in a 30 day notice. They could just dismiss her early.
Email to Selected Agents
Congrats! (Or maybe not congrats >.>). The council has deemed Agent ____ to be dangerously loyal to Nick Fury, to the point of security risk. They will be taking action against them to detain them for the foreseeable future to prevent security leaks. Their arrest will happen ______ when they arrive at SHIELD.
But all is not lost! By demonstrating themselves as a threat to the council, Nick Fury is hardly going to let his best agents waste away in whatever secret prison that the council has selected for them. While in transport your agent will be rescued by an elite group of Fury’s loyal agents and relocated to one of his safe houses in the area to continue working to help restore SHIELD.
Your rescue team will include:
(list of agents)
If you have any questions, email us back.

Agents to stay
- Maria Hill -- Appointed new Interim Director;
I assume this is "director" since really the council is going to be bearing down and pushing everyone around? I think Hill's primary concern is making sure SHIELD/treatment of its agents doesn't go to hell first (i.e. the opposite of what HYDRA wants) and then figuring out wtf is going on/getting Fury back where he belongs second. To what extent is she able to protect 'her' refugees (pet project, vtf, mages, snape, etc.)? She of course doesn't want Fury gone, bc she is loyal to him, but she's v. by the book and is going to get what she wants as within the rules as possible (or find someone to do it out of the rules off the record). Haha. yeah "Director" I mean. Fury still answers to the Council whether or not he actually listens to them, so she'll probably have a lot of those similar teleconferences where demands are made/priorities are shifted/etc and like some new people in Internal Affairs to make sure orders are being followed. - Victoria Hand -- Appointed as Hill’s Second.
- Foxtrot --
- Peggy Carter --
- Spock -- Supervising medical
- Jenny --
- Finesse -- Supervising Restoration of Systems: Jeanne's job will be working to restore the systems, but mostly get things up and operational. Christine and I have decided that all the data on the servers is going to be heavily encrypted, and working off the Cryptolocker virus that has gone around recently (Encrypts all your documents with a 1024-bit key that means testing to find the right key would take 1000 years, no joke. Better to pay the ransom for that one). So essentially, once the systems are back up and running, and the data that Jasper might let them keep is online, Finesse's job is going to be constantly trying to test different keys. We'll figure a date later, but at some point, Finesse is going to find some of Sitwell's documents that have the key, and then her moral quandary can begin. Does she: unlock the files for HYDRA/SHIELD, blackmail Jasper, or keep the information all to herself. DUN DUN DUUUUN.
Council/Hydra rule instituted fully in February.
Foxtrot for January
Agent Cross, head of internal affairs.
-Order given to go over several cases Cross has overviewed
-Discrepancies are found in several, leading to the deaths of agents.
-Upon interrogation Cross ‘opens fire’. Taken into custody on the 29th.
-HYDRA puts their dude in this position. AND NOW HE HAS OVERSIGHT OF ALL.
-Audits in February?
Agent interaction during AoN
Refugee agents will be downgraded in security clearance, outside of those within Foxtrot cell and any who over the course are deemed ‘worthy’. There will be an enforced hierarchy and HYDRA will want to cause infighting (the more refugees and agents fight each other the more damage they can do within SHIELD with its resources.
-’Punishments’ will be more serious than under Fury. There will be a heavy emphasis on ‘re-education’.
-There will be agents that ‘disappear’, these agents will be ones that Fury removes over the course of the plot. Other agents will be contacted to stay within SHIELD to help with the eventual take back.
Ideas for AoN
-Retrieval of the tesseract (either by AoN or Asgardians)
-Disruption of the Avengers
-Disruption of vigilante activity
-disparity in assigned tasks for refugee agents
-Disappearances of agents
-Recruitment to Fury’s aid
-Take back of SHIELD
Week of 2/22:
21st: A 2 person team in detroit goes dark. When extraction shows up, there's an explosion from below the factory destroying any evidence they might be able to get from the biochemical manufacturing plant below the factory. Evidence of specialized arrows like those used by Clint Barton are found.
23rd: Phil Coulson's team finds an 084 in South America, a tesseract based weapon similar to HYDRA's designs in the 1930s. :O But also similar to SHIELD's Phase 2 stuff. Which.. okay most of that was conveniently stolen by Jasper a month ago. Phil has schematics for Phase 2 on the table on the Bus. Wonder how that happened?
24th: SHIELD continues
25th: Tesseract is stolen. Clint Barton beats Natasha Romanoff. Thor is off realm.
26th: Refugees show up at the doorstep to Stark Industries. Weird.
26th: The Rising Tide posts an expose on SHIELD. Finesse and Sitwell meet on an anonymous IRC chat attempting to DDoS the site from existence. She reveals she has part of his key? :| not cool
27th: Nick Fury infiltrates the Triskelion to speak to Alexander Pierce. PIerce reveals that something's wrong with the WSC, and that he's doing all he can, but powerless to stop the agents who have infiltrated it. He then shoots Fury and provides an out for him to escape so it looks like this wasn't a civil meeting.
28th: Agt Leasa Andrews, from Detroit, walks into the Hub. She explains that Furyco rescued her and that the team that took out her partner and made their mission appeared to be SHIELD agents. (or WSC?). She also mentions teams led by Agents
March:
Homebrew villain escapes from Medical
Hill arrested on Helicarrier. Goes for a dive. Cassandra Samar comes in as new Head of SHIELD
2nd: Jasper brings up that he might have an ally in washington who could help them
