Dear friend,
Thank you for your kind remembrance, which I was very pleased to receive before my departure for Valencia, where I am going to spend a few days with my eldest brother, José,[1] who I have not seen for a long time, and who is imperiously asking for me on the occasion of his feast day.
I can foresee that once I am with him, for so little time, it will be only very difficult for me to come and shake hands with you in Barcelona, but be assured that if I can, I will take this opportunity to see you, be it only for a day.
I will be back in Madrid towards 20th-22nd, and as you may go and visit the Prado again, I might have the infinite pleasure of seeing you here.
In any case, I wish you and Madam[2] a pleasant stay in Barcelona, where our beautiful exhibition will be of the utmost interest to you, I am certain of it, and I keep hoping, if I can avail myself, to see you in Barcelona, or perhaps in Madrid if you go there.
In the hope I will be able to shake hands with you, my kindest regards to you and Madam.
Mariano Benlliure
My address in Valencia: Calle Blanquerias, 55.
