Making of Miyawaki Forest- Contract based End-to-End Services

  1. GENERAL

  1. SCOPE OF WORK

Work includes, but is not limited to, providing all consulting, project management services, on-site consultant support, software support for Heijunka (平準化)simulation, labour, materials, equipment, tools and facilities required to provide full professional afforestation services to establish a forest using Miyawaki Method:

In general the work includes

Afforestation Project management and Consulting Services:

  1. Soil Survey
  2. Soil Testing
  3. Selection of biomass for soil conditioning based on soil strata.
  4. Calculation of quantified biomass requirement for every 100 Sq Mtrs.
  5. Quality inspection of the biomass ingredient material at source.
  6. Native Species Survey
  7. Native Species Database Development and Management
  8. Assigning the forest type based on client’s requirement.
  9. Selection of Species for forest plantation based on Soil Strata and conditioning.
  10. Making of a quantified species list with fixed ratios for every 100 Sq Mtrs.
  11. Quality, size and age inspection of Saplings to be used for afforestation.
  12. Heijunka (平準化) Simulation for the arrangement of saplings on the afforestation mound for plantation.
  13. Supply of Sapling Tags based on Heijunka Simulation.
  14. On-site quality inspection of biomass mix prepration.
  15. On-Site quality inspection of mound making parameters.
  16. On-Site plantation supervision and project schedule management.
  17. Selection of mulching material.
  18. Quality inspection of mulching material at the source.
  19. Obeya Setup for project management, project progress monitoring and KPI management for the forest growth and maintenance activity.

Afforestation Project Execution Services:

  1. Procurement of biomass ingredients in standard packing.
  2. Loading/Unloading and on-site storage of the biomass ingredients.
  3. Saplings procurement from various sources.
  4. Supply of earthmoving equipment and labour required for mound making.
  5. Biomass mixing.
  6. Mound making using earthmover and manual labour.
  7. Plantation involving volunteers and labour.
  8. Mulch procurement
  9. Mulching and roping for mulch protection.

Forest Maintenance Management and Consulting Services:

  1. Monthly growth monitoring using Height as KPI.
  2. Monthly survival rate monitoring in percentage.
  3. Updating KPIs in Obeya and the AFMS.
  4. Generate monthly maintenance report using AFMS

Forest Maintenance Execution:

  1. Regular watering as per the schedule.
  2. Regular de-weeding as per the schedule.
  3. Re-mulching as and when required.
  4. Organic soil amender/pest protection spray as and when required.
  5. Plant straightening using bamboo sticks as and when required.
