Dear Mrs de Laszlo,
Thank you very much for your note. I was very sorry not to be able to wait for you last Monday, but was obliged to go out before 4,30. I shall take great care of Alice’s[1] portrait [possibly 6615] until she is able to return to her home at Corfu & enjoy it there.
Unfortunately the Crown Prince of Sweden[2] leaves on Saturday & Louise[3] then goes to her sister at Paris for a few days & they are

very busy to-day & to-morrow so that they cannot have the pleasure of visiting Mr de Laszlo’s studio at present. I too am going away on a visit next week until the 4th or 5th of October, but will communicate with you on my return, so as to arrange about the sittings. Nothing could have given my good child so much pleasure as your husband’s generous proposal of doing a sketch of me as a wedding-gift for her [3498][4] & his kind thought has touched me too –
Always yours sincerely
