Dear Mr. Lászlò,

Her Royal Highness[1] has instructed me

to return the newspaper cutting with thanks. It has been [illegible words] of much interest. I am also taking the opportunity to thank you very much for your kind letter which has brought me much joy as it came with only good news about you. I am still upset that I failed to meet your dear wife[2] way back in Toelz – particularly as Her Royal Highness had told me so many likeable and charming things about her. And, as you know, Her Royal Highness is a very strict critic. You should have received a letter from said Highness in the meantime which should put your mind at rest that nobody is angry with you.

[Page 3]

Did Her Royal Highness tell you that she had been sick and in bed for three weeks in [illegible]? It was a pretty miserable time and very boring because one could not see anybody. It would really be a great joy if you were to come to Berlin in June but please don’t make it too late because we are leaving there on the 1st July.

How nice it would be to sit together downstairs in the studio and reminisce about old times. With warm greetings [loss]

[In the top right margin of page 1]  Please have the painting [4448] sent to this address.
