Preface:

The Ohio Republican Party recognizes the fundamental right of workers to unionize acknowledging a union’s pivotal role in safeguarding the interests of workers against the excesses of corporate exploitation. A union, when operating in its true spirit, stands as a vital check against rampant corporate greed that often seeks self-serving legislative favors which detrimentally diverge from the public good.

Unionization historically has been a cornerstone of protecting the rights, welfare, and fair treatment of laborers ensuring that their voices are heard and that their interests upheld. It is through unions that workers collectively advocate for better wages, improved working conditions, and fair labor practices.

However, it is with a heavy heart that the Republican Party recognizes instances where public sector unions, like any institution, have deviated from their noble purpose. Political corruption, power-interest (socialism), and the departure from representing the genuine will of their members can transform unions from defenders of workers' rights into entities as harmful as the corporate greed they were intended to counteract.

The Ohio Republican Party reaffirms its commitment to the noble principles of unionization that stand as a bulwark against exploitation and unfair labor practices. Simultaneously, it is incumbent upon us to address and rectify instances where unions lose sight of their founding principles, veer away from serving the genuine interests of their members and become political animals that work against America first principles.

America's Founding Fathers envisioned an educational system that nurtured civic virtues and moral principles preparing our youth to become responsible citizens who contribute to the greater good of our nation. Regrettably, the academic community through their various unions have deviated from this vision and championed ideologies such as Socialism, Wokeism, and others detrimental to the American spirit.

This deviation has not only compromised the quality of education but also endangered the moral fabric of our society. The influx of anti-American sentiments, coupled with divisive ideologies and a disregard for traditional values, has led to increased violence, a mental health crises, and moral decay among our youth.

The Republican Party of Ohio, echoing the sentiments of our nation's founding ideals, affirms the urgency of re-establishing educational institutions and their unions as guardians of American values and principles. It is our duty to protect our children from ideologies that sow division, hatred, and moral degradation.

Resolution:

Whereas, the Republican Party of Ohio has a steadfast commitment to upholding traditional American values, fostering educational excellence, and preserving the integrity of our academic institutions; and

Whereas, the academic community, regrettably, has increasingly aligned with ideologies that undermine the fundamental principles of our nation and seek to erode the fabric of our society; and

Whereas, it is imperative to safeguard the educational system from ideologies detrimental to the well-being and moral development of our children; and

Whereas, it is the duty of the Republican Party to ensure that Republican candidates seeking endorsement align with principles that uphold traditional American values and prioritize the best interests of our children:

Be it resolved by the Ohio Republican State Central Committee, as follows:

Republican candidates seeking endorsement must not accept campaign funds from the Ohio School Board Association, the Ohio Federation of Teachers, Ohio Education Association, National Education Association, AFSME Library Workers Unions, or any organizations aligned with ideologies antithetical to American values until they:

  1. Advocate for Automatic Referendums on all Collective Bargaining agreements.
  2. Limit the negotiation of Collective Bargaining agreements to occur every four years during presidential election years.
  3. Restrict the seeking of school levies to every four years during the presidential general election.
  4. Support partisan school board elections, scheduled exclusively during presidential election years.
  5. Establish performance-based educational voucher systems, ensuring equitable reimbursement for home school educators akin to public school educators.
  6. Mandate rigorous public review of all educational materials.
  7. Decline accommodations that reinforce or exacerbate mental disorders such as Gender Dysphoria Disorder.
  8. Support the prohibition of biological men/boys from playing in women’s/girls’ sports.
  9. Support the prohibition of biological men/boys using women’s/girl’s locker rooms and or dressing rooms.
  10. Support the prohibition of political activism in classes among teachers.
  11. Support the prohibition of minors' access to obscene material in libraries.
  12. Support the prohibition of events that glamorize or glorify abnormal or deviant lifestyles in libraries.
  13. Support the prohibition of the dissemination of pornography in libraries.
  14. Support the rejection of Social Emotional Learning (SEL), Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI), Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (PBIS), Comprehensive Sex Education (CSE), and Critical Race Theory (CRT) from academic curriculum.
  15. Support of political diversity among academia.

Be it further resolved, that Republican candidates seeking endorsement may return funds to these organizations to be considered for endorsement.

Be it further resolved, that the Ohio Republican Party hereby recognizes the Ohio School Board Association as an association to promulgate woke ideologies putting Ohio children at risk.

Be it further resolved, that the Ohio Republican Party absolutely supports its Republican School Board members that oppose their school board’s membership with the Ohio School Board Association.

Be it further resolved, that the Ohio Republican Party hereby challenges Republican County Central Committees in Ohio to adopt similar resolutions.

Be it further resolved, that this resolution is transmitted to all known Republican candidates for Ohio offices and is transmitted as a press release to Ohio’s major media outlets and is placed on the Ohio Republican Party’s website.
