Get a set of christmas lights and something like a C-Stand to hang them on. We hung a black sheet on the classroom wall and clamped the lights to the sheet.
Play around with different lenses, F-stop settings and the distance between the lights and your subject.
Extension: Create a “product spot” or commercial for something that demonstrates your ability to shoot a background of lights with a beautiful Bokeh and a sharp well lit subject. This would make a great piece for your demo reel. For example, you could make a commercial for some food item for your school cafe or a product from the student store.
