TRIO program has moved their location to the cafeteria on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:00-4:30.
There will be a wrestling meeting, Tuesday 10/3 at 8:30 am in the East gym for anyone interested in wrestling this school year.
The penny war will start Wednesday 9/27. The freshmen bucket will be in Miss Taylor’s room, Sophomores in Mrs. St Ledger’s room, Juniors in Mr. Musgrave’s room and Seniors will be in Mr. Lyons’ room. Remember pennies count as positive and anything else will be a negative for the class.
Sorry!!! The voting for homecoming King and Queen will be Wednesday, October 4th, not today. Voting will be from 7:45 am to 3 pm.
There are still a number of limited homecoming tickets available for sale. However you must see Mrs. Lyons or Mrs. Reever to purchase one of these. NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AFTER NEXT WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 4TH. Tickets purchased the night of the dance will be $15.00. You cannot purchase a ticket for anyone that does not attend FCHS on Saturday, so get the forms completed to bring a guest. Remember no dropouts, no one 21, and no one that has been convicted of a felon will be admitted to the dance.

It's given to five top applicants each year and starts at $10,000, growing to a total of $43,000 over four years. Students with a 3.9 high school GPA with no ACT or SAT score or a 3.75 high school GPA with a 31 ACT/1390 SAT are eligible to apply.
Seniors that are interested in attending SIUE and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 (4.0 scale) are encouraged to apply to the SIUE Meridian Scholarship. To be considered, students must submit an SIUE application, official high school transcripts, Meridian application and a 2-page essay by Wed. November 15.

Requirements:
- Your family household income is $55,000 or less
- You mostly earn As in math and science at your school, maintain a 3.5 GPA or above
- Are highly motivated and demonstrate a passion for STEM studies.
- A 500 words or more essay on the following:
> Why you have chosen to pursue a degree in STEM; or
> Lessons you have learned from your part-time jobs

Seventeen $2,000 scholarships are awarded each year.
Requirements:
- Illinois High School Senior planning to enroll full-time at a two-year or a four-year college, university, or vocational/technical school next year.
- Parents receive service from Wayne White Counties Electric Cooperative.
Scholarships are awarded based on grade point average, college entrance test scores, work and volunteer experience, participation in school and community activities, biographical statement and knowledge of electric cooperatives, as demonstrated by a short essay.
