Dear Sirs,

With further reference to the proofs of the reproduction of the portrait of the Crown Princess of Rumania [4221] – I am astonished that you appear to need such a long time before you are able to send me a copy of the proof, as you you have already had the matter in hand for nearly three weeks, and the portrait of Lady Alastair Graham [4535], certainly a month.

I would be very much obliged if you could kindly furnish me with these proofs as soon as you can, and, in any case, I would like to compare the proof of [loss] pictures before the originals are delivered.

As the matter is very urgent I trust that you will do all you can to press the proofs forward.
