LAZY EIGHT STOCK FARM -  Community Supported Agriculture

TERMS OF AGREEMENT

I commit to membership in Lazy Eight Stock Farm’s Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Program for the 2017 harvest season.

SHARES

As a member of the CSA, I will receive a weekly share of produce for the amount of time agreed upon. The shares will vary by size and weight depending on the time of the season.

Members support Lazy Eight Stock Farm by sharing in the inherent risks of agriculture (poor weather, drought, disease, early frost, crop failure and so on) and reap rewards (the bounty of the season). The farmers at Lazy Eight Stock Farm will purposely plan for such contingencies, and use growing techniques that protect the harvest, minimize the risk to members and optimize the rewards – growing a wide variety of crops that thrive in different types of conditions, cover cropping, crop rotation, and irrigation. On the whole, members will get a wide variety of vegetables in plentiful amounts. Therefore, I agree that while Lazy Eight Stock Farm, LLC will act in good faith to provide fresh produce for the duration of the season, there is no guarantee of quantities or contents of weekly shares.

In the event that severe weather, disease, insect damage, or other natural disaster results in a level of crop destruction that prevents the farm from continuing its weekly distributions, I will be notified immediately via email or phone. Depending on availability of produce and CSA member’s interest, CSA membership could be extended beyond the given share period to balance out the share if weekly distributions are interrupted for any of the above-mentioned reasons.

MEMBER RESPONSIBILITIES

As a CSA member, I agree to pick up my share at the designated pick-up site during the pick-up window. If I will be away or otherwise unable to pick up my share, I will make arrangements for someone else to pick it up for me. Any shares not claimed within 24 hours of delivery will be donated to the Berea Food Bank OR another food charity. Member shares that are not picked up will not be refunded or made up.

I will be responsible for reading the CSA Newsletter every week for important news and information about my weekly CSA share. This Newsletter will come to you through your email.

I agree to be an active participant in the CSA program, and to contact Lazy Eight Stock Farm if I have any questions or concerns. In the event that a member must cancel membership, the member will receive a pro-rated refund for the remaining weeks of unclaimed produce.

REFUNDS AND CANCELLATIONS

Requests for refunds by a member prior to the first day of the CSA harvest season will be issued a full refund less a $50.00 administrative processing fee. Cancellation by the farm during this period will dictate a full refund to the member for the share price paid.
