Regarding Ray and Zuzu

Hello. This document was created to inform the cosplay community of the actions and behavior of two cosplayers in the Love Live! and Midwest Idol community.

This article is mainly about two individuals:

Ray and Zuzu are also the leaders of a Love Live! dance cover group, Lilly Kiss Idols.

This document was compiled by one individual with multiple accounts from people who were all at some point friends with Ray and Zuzu. All sources are from 2024-2026, with Ray and Zuzu being adults during the events of these accounts.

This document is intended to bring attention to these people’s behavior and prevent further harm towards others. It is NOT intended to cause emotional or physical harm or defamation. We understand that Ray and Zuzu struggle with their mental health, and all contributors to this document do as well. Mental health is no excuse for this kind of behavior over the last three years.

This document is not intended to accuse those involved of anything. All statements are objective recounting of events from each contributor.

All we ask to come out of this is public accountability, an apology, anything pertaining to us removed from Lilly Kiss’ socials, and an agreement to avoid each other in the community. This could have easily been discussed in private between all parties involved, but Ray and Zuzu blocked us right when we made plans to talk.

If you still support or will associate with Ray and Zuzu after reading this, please block and stay far, far away from us.

Sugar Starz

Gaslighting and Emotional Manipulation

During a Sugar Starz meetup at Zuzu’s house, Zuzu hit another members car while driving with other members in the group. Zuzu got their mom involved, who also denied that her child had any responsibility in damaging the car.

Zuzu told the group that Corey lied about a death in their family to get out of practice.

Sexual Harassment

Zuzu has a track record of running up to people and hugging them without consent. They’ve done this to multiple members of Sugar Starz, some of which were minors at the time.
During a photoshoot with Ray and Zuzu, Zuzu took C aside and told them that they wouldn't mind if C took ship photos with Ray, because C and Ray played Nozomi and Eli respectively, who are widely shipped in the community. Zuzu told C, who was freshly 17 at the time, that it was okay because Ray was ‘attractive,’ and told C not to ‘be too handsy’ with Ray.

Lilly Kiss Idols

After they were removed from Sugar Starz in 2024, Ray and Zuzu started their own idol group, Lilly Kiss Idols. All information in this section is from December 2024 to February 2026.

This document is meant to discuss Ray and Zuzu specifically. Do not harass other hand members of Lilly Kiss.

Spreading Rumors about Sugar Starz members

According to Ray and Zuzu, Corey ‘forced’ them to sleep on a dog bed during a Sugar Starz meetup. After speaking with Corey, the dog bed in question was a clean and lightly used toddler mattress that was only used as a last resort due to complications with an air matress.

Ray and Zuzu would tell the group that Corey and A had told their mutual cosplay acquaintance to kill themselves when asked to practice for Sugar Starz, implying that Corey and A caused that acquaintance to take their own life. After speaking with Corey, they were not the person who said this, it was resolved privately between both people, and neither A or Zuzu were involved besides being present.

Observations and AI detection from Hal:

Behavior as group leaders during meetups

Ray and Zuzu would consistently get into personal arguments during meetups that ended up with Zuzu breaking down and Ray isolating, resulting in the group having to derail and comfort Zuzu. When Felix and Hal brought up concerns about their relationship being abusive, they were brushed off by the rest of the group.
Both Ray and Zuzu would interrupt meetups in various ways, such as deciding on a whim to hang out at the nearby Walmart or planning a surprise birthday party for Ray without planning with the group prior to the meetup.
Ray would not practice during meetups whatsoever, claiming they ‘already knew the song’ well enough. While they would do this, they would harp at the rest of the group for taking breaks instead of practicing during meetups.

Demonization of ex-members

Back around June 2025, the original member who was going to play Hanayo for the Anime Iowa 2025 performance silently left Lilly Kiss’ group chat and went cut contact with the group, but remained in the group Life360 circle. Ray and Zuzu stalked this person’s location while they were in the area during a meetup, badmouthing them and threatening to cancel the performance because of the lack of one member.
A friend of Ray and Zuzu and former member of Sugar Starz helped with Lilly Kiss events on multiple occasions, assisting with photoshoots and acting as the announcer for the groups performance at Anime Iowa 2025. Zuzu repeatedly ‘cut contact’ with this person and would talk about them to the group in disgusting ways, such as claiming this person was ‘obsessed with them’ and claiming that they slept with Zuzu and that they were ‘bad at sex.’

Anime Iowa 2025

On the day of the performance, the announcer for the panel was being harassed by a stalker. The announcer and another member of Lilly Kiss were speaking with the con staff and law enforcement within ten minutes of when the performance was supposed to start, and were not able to be reached during this time. Because of this, Ray threatened to cancel the performance altogether and caused a public scene during panel setup.
During the closing speech of the performance, Ray and Zuzu held a memorial for a cosplay acquaintance of theirs who took their own life. This was not discussed with the group prior, making multiple members confused and uncomfortable.

Mistreatment of underage and POC members

Ray and Zuzu took in three underage members shortly before the Anime Iowa 2025 performance, being Beyonca, Tanizjah, and a third member. Beyonca and Tanizjah were both 17 at the time and actively in high school without jobs, which Ray and Zuzu were aware of and allowed them to join the group anyways.
Despite all of this, Ray and Zuzu held Beyonca and Tanizjah up to the same standards as the rest of the group for budget and time and would get angry at them for not being able to meet their unrealistic expectations. This led to Beyonca and Tanizjah confronting Ray and Zuzu after the performance and leaving the group.

Beyonca and Tanizjah are both people of colour, and were mistreated by Ray and Zuzu for this. Most notably, they didn't want to have Tanizjah wear a wig for the performance, preferring her ‘natural hair’ for the ‘diversity’ without taking into account what Tanizjah wanted to do.

Statement from Beyonca:

Before I joined the idol group I was told about Ray first, having DID? And being very expressive about it and showing clear signs they had it. When I joined the idol group this was completely different, no mention of DID. No switches, nothing, and whilst it's not a problem, i feel like a disorder like that is incredibly hard to mask, that was the first semi-problematic thing i thought about them.

So forth, many people had to sit and watch Ray and Zuzu argue DAILY, it was constant and it was screaming and yelling. And it was constantly blamed on a disorder/illness and while I get that, it’s not everyone else’s fault nor responsibility to have to deal with that EVER especially being a minor at that time/new to the group & dealing with my own mental disorders. The idol group was supposed to be an escape and it wasn’t, it felt like a deeper hole I was digging myself into.

Ray and Zuzu talked about me and my best friend Tanizjah and probably everyone behind their backs! I just feel like if we're going to be a team you shouldn’t say we’re not trying hard enough or not doing good enough, etc, it makes people not wanna be a part of groups or trust people with feelings. Its constant boundaries broken and double standards.

Literally the first day of auditions for my friend Sophia Zuzu immediately spoke about why no door knobs were allowed on the door, about how they tried to commit. This created a very uncomfortable environment for Sophia, whilst it’s not a problem to be open about ur problems, it’s a problem when you’re telling people you don’t even know/trust and they don’t exactly WANT to know or hear.

Zuzu has always had double standards and favorites, it was clear to me since i got there. they have always been sorta rude & heavily privileged.

Before , when (groups previous Hanayo) couldn’t make it to certain things and got scolded for it. I'm pretty sure that’s why they left or no showed, who would wanna be a part of an idol group with so much toxicity and non understanding? it was a terrible way to go about it and constant shit talking.

I’ve never found anything relatable to what they’ve said, and constantly found myself walking on eggshells around them. Especially when they brought up not giving tanizjah a wig because they liked her natural hair and loved the culture shit, weird as FUCK by the way. Constantly talking about how they had so much diversity, grossed me out.

Behavior towards Felix (funnybunniecos) and Hal (lovebugscos)

Ray and Zuzu reached out to Felix and Hal to join Lilly Kiss Idols in February 2025, after which they became close friends until ultimately Ray and Zuzu cut them off in April 2026. All information in this section is during this time, February 2025 to April 2026.

Emotional dependency, manipulation, and gaslighting

Zuzu was constantly overbearing with Felix during the entire friendship under the guise of simply ‘caring about their friend.’ Zuzu would message them every few minutes if Felix didn’t respond immediately, and often acted as if they were a partner to him. Felix would not be able to be away from his phone or Zuzu would say he was ‘at risk’ and push even more, even after being told by Felix that he wanted to be left alone. This behavior would often trigger Felix to actually have episodes and breakdowns, like Zuzu claimed they wanted to help with.

Zuzu would constantly, purposefully trigger Felix’s eating disorder under the guise of Zuzu simply struggling with their own.
Zuzu confided in both Felix and Hal that they and Ray were in contact with and making personal sexual content for a well known convicted sex offender in the Love Live! community throughout 2025 in exchange for money and cosplays. They stated that they would make sexual content for this person in Love Live! cosplays, acting as the characters who are high schoolers in their source. This person would go on to attend Anime Iowa 2025 to harass one of Ray and Zuzu’s friends that they had introduced the sex offender to, who was also the announcer for Lilly Kiss’ performance at the con.
Felix and Monty started planning their own idol group, Sweetheart Idols, in February 2025. This was made public and was not hidden from Lilly Kiss whatsoever. Felix briefly left Lilly Kiss in November 2025 due to growing uncomfortable with Ray and Zuzu, mostly Ray at the time, and Felix began to work on Sweetheart now that he had the time. Zuzu messaged Felix and accused him of leaving Lilly Kiss just to start his own group. Felix explained that the group was already in production long before he decided to leave, but Zuzu doubled down and insisted that Felix screwed over their plans for Lilly Kiss on purpose. Zuzu also went after Felix for joining another idol group, Nyanwan Idols, which was founded by another member of Lilly Kiss. This conversation ended up with Felix expressing his reason for leaving the group, to which Zuzu responded by claiming that they only lashed out because Ray was abusing them and that they wanted to disband Lilly Kiss as a whole.

Felix was convinced to join Lilly Kiss again at the December 2025 Davenport Quadcon, and Ray and Zuzu joined Sweetheart Idols. While the group wasn't working on any big projects, Hal needed information from every member to make introduction posts. Ray and Zuzu had a week to give this information, to which Zuzu didn't follow the clear instructions listed and Ray fully never did it. When Felix asked Zuzu about getting the information, Zuzu excused their disregard for being suicidal.

Zuzu called Hal a ‘moocher’ and said that he was ‘taking Felix from his friends’ because he spoke out about how Ray and Zuzu were treating Felix, who is Hal’s partner.

Ray and Zuzu’s treatment of Hal led to Hal having a psychotic break in April 2026, this break ending up being a direct cause of Hal discovering he had a dissociative disorder.

ACEN 2025

Zuzu pushed Felix to pull out from the AirBnB due to capacity limits in private instead of discussing the limit with the whole group.

After arriving at the AirBnB Thursday before the con, Ray was complaining about forgetting some kind of ziploc bag for something. Hal suggested they go out and stop at a Walmart for bags, to which Ray responded by snapping that ‘there's no Walmarts in Chicago.’ Felix called Ray out for snapping, causing Ray to lock themselves in their room and cry until Zuzu went to check on them.
Both Ray and Zuzu criticized Felix for wanting to meet an online mutual at the convention, calling it ‘weird’.
On the morning of the last day of the convention, everyone was rushed out the door to get ready by Ray and Zuzu due to check out time. When asked if we should do dishes or put towels in the washer before leaving, they said it wasn't important and to hurry getting ready. Later, after the convention, Ray and Zuzu sent out messages to the group chat and individually that they received a bad review on AirBnB, criticizing everyone for ‘leaving things’ and claiming that only they tried to clean anything. They asked for money from everyone for ‘extra payment,’ but never followed up on this after the first messages.

During the last day of the convention, Hal had lost his wallet in the artists alley, causing him and Felix stress. After it was found and the group met up while the convention was closing, Zuzu saw Felix upset and proceeded to say something along the lines of ‘Great, I guess everyone's just upset with me.’

Mistreatment in Lilly Kiss

Ray and Zuzu pushed Hal to join Lilly Kiss as an idol the first day the first day they formally met, continuing to push despite Hal declining the offer until he agreed to be the group’s backup Maki. When the group found a full-time performer for Maki, Hal was demoted to being a ‘helper,’ but wasn't given any tasks to fit this role, having to beg to do things such as helping with panel setup and making graphics for the group. Felix was later told that Hal was only allowed at group meetups because Felix wanted him there.
Felix wasn’t given his own Umi wig for the Anime Iowa 2025 performance, having to use Zuzu’s wig while the rest of the group had their own wigs made for the performance.
Zuzu outed Felix as a transgender man on stage during the closing speech of the performance at Anime Iowa 2025. Zuzu was aware that some of Felix’s family was in the audience, and that he was not out to them yet.
During the audience photoshoot after the Anime Iowa 2025 performance, Hal was snapped at and rushed along for wanting to kiss his partner, Felix, in the photo after waiting in line like the rest of the audience.
Felix was continuously harassed for not ordering the costume for the Anime Iowa 2026 performance despite Ray and Zuzu being told repeatedly that he didn't have the money because he had rent and bills due. He eventually went into debt (Ray and Zuzu were told about this) to purchase the costume in January, after which he was still singled out for not ordering the costume sooner when the performance was in August.
Hal volunteered to create a poster for the group’s Anime Iowa 2026 performance. After months of silence from the group’s leaders, Ray texted asking about the piece and completely forgetting that it was a full size poster. After being told additional work would have to be paid for, Ray immediately backtracked.

Ray also got upset over the piece because they ‘weren't drawn first.’

Financial and material manipulation

Ray would repeatedly make poor quality, rushed wigs for Felix both as favours and commissions, despite making high quality wigs for others. This is extremely apparent with the Spamton wig they made Felix for Anime Iowa 2025, which was rushed on the night before the con despite Ray saying they were working on it throughout the whole week.

Both Ray and Zuzu would hold onto materials that were commissioned, such as a case where two wigs that were commissioned and paid for in May 2025 were held onto until September 2025.

While Hal and Felix were trying to get their wigs from ACEN25 back, Zuzu told Felix that maybe they would get their wigs if they actually paid for them in time. Felix’s wig was done as a favor between friends, and Hal’s was paid half because Ray said not to worry about it.

Felix loaned Ray a costume for a photoshoot, after which Ray ignored all attempts by Felix to retrieve the costume until he finally gave up and told them to keep it.
Zuzu offered to purchase Hal a ticket to Anime Iowa as a birthday gift without mentioning that he would still have to pay $15 for gas until friday morning of the convention, while knowing he was unemployed and didn't have money for the weekend. They stared at Hal until he gave them the only cash he had on him.
Zuzu would pressure Felix and Hal into going out for food after being repeatedly told that they did not have the money for it. On one occasion Zuzu pressured Hal into ordering food that Zuzu offered to pay for, despite Hal declining the offer.

Repeated sexual harassment

Zuzu would show off their chest during Lilly Kiss meetups as well as hangouts.
Zuzu would repeatedly ask Felix for a threesome despite him being in a relationship and declining the offer every time they asked.
Zuzu pressured Hal into flashing his breasts to them during a hangout, taking advantage of Felix being in a dissociative state to egg it on. Both Ray and Zuzu knew that Felix was in this state at the time, and they have both said they have a dissociative disorder as well.
Zuzu asked Hal for NSFW fetish artwork of The Amazing Digital Circus characters while Zuzu was in the hospital after an attempt. They kept asking for months after being told that such work would have to be a paid commission.

Spreading rumors and serious allegations

Ray and Zuzu have told at least one person repeatedly that Hal is a ‘proshipper,’ implying that he is a predator. When confronted about this, Ray denied saying this whatsoever. This is an extremely serious allegation and it is insanely irresponsible to throw around without any proof or context.

Statement from Hal:

I am incredibly angry and disgusted with Ray and Zuzu for this. Implying that someone is a predator based on what kind of fiction they engage with is dangerous and takes away the severity of real people who have gone through those experiences. I have always kept my NSFW content in adult spaces online, and have never discussed it around minors during my time with Lilly Kiss. The only minor I regularly interact with is my sibling-in-law and hell, me and Felix brought our concerns about one of the minor members in our group cosplaying from an adult media to Zuzu, and we were brushed off about it.

If these people saw me as a dangerous risk, why didn’t they say anything until I came out with something about them? They do not care if anyone was actually hurt; they only care about putting others down to make themselves look better. I’ve struggled with POCD (OCD, NOT a paraphilia disorder) for years and they’ve been well aware- Zuzu helped me with a stalking situation from a previous group of friends I had that fell apart because of it at a convention. And they decided to keep me around despite obviously thinking of me that way. Or they don't think about me that way and only decided to prey on it when it served their favour.

Ableism, prejudice, and toxicity.

After being told that Hal enjoys his partner playfully calling him a dog, Zuzu would treat him like a child or pet. They would speak in a baby voice and demean him, calling him a puppy. Zuzu later told Hal and Felix that Ray claims that Hal ‘infantilizes himself’. Both Ray and Zuzu are aware that Hal is disabled.
Zuzu and Ray have a tendency to talk poorly about other cosplayers, mostly young and inexperienced, at conventions.

Avoiding criticism and cyberstalking

Throughout February to April 2026, Felix was growing more and more upset with Ray and Zuzu, which affected his role in Lilly Kiss. Zuzu would constantly pressure Felix to come to meetups, continuing to push the subject when he already said no multiple times. Zuzu, again, would always package this into ‘caring so much.’

Eventually Ray would abruptly remove Felix from Lilly Kiss’ discord server and Life360. When this was brought up to Zuzu, they claimed not to have been aware about this and offered to take Felix out somewhere the next day to talk about what happened.

Both Ray and Zuzu agreed to an in-person discussion of their friendship with Felix and Hal before sending a long, condescending message cutting things off and blaming Felix for it the next day. In this message, they implied it would be ‘immature’ to speak out about the incident publicly, using cold professional language to take the moral high ground. They would also compare Felix’s struggles with his home life to other members of Lilly Kiss, implying that Felix was simply too lazy and not willing to put in the effort for the group.

Because of their behavior towards Felix, Hal made a short Instagram story post about the situation, to which Ray and Zuzu bombarded both Felix and Hal about how the situation didn't involve Hal, despite Hal having been a ‘helper’ for Lilly Kiss and Felix’s partner.

After Hal blocked Ray and Zuzu and posted a short beware with screenshots about them to his public story, multiple burner accounts were found to be viewing his story. These profiles include both Ray and Zuzu in their icons, as well as one of the accounts literally having Lilly Kiss in the name.

Current Behavior

April 2026 to present

Lying about proposing

On June 1st, 2026, Zuzu posted a video to their Instagram story saying that they have blocked Ray on everything and are planning to propose to them in July as a surprise, asking for help with purchasing a ring for them. Zuzu and Ray have been engaged since December 2025, having proposed publicly at a local mall where Hal was working when they proposed.

Sending a forged cease and desist

After the initial public release of this document on June 14th, 2026, Ray sent Felix and Hal photos of a printed Cease and Desist letter over text and Instagram message. This letter has numerous mistakes and is clearly not legally binding. When Ray was questioned about this, they doubled down in stating that the letter is a legal document.

Continued cyberstalking

Since the public release of this document, multiple accounts on Instagram clearly belonging to Ray, Zuzu, and their friends have been found watching Felix, Monty and Hal's accounts. Even further to this, Zuzu used their family member’s Instagram account to watch Hal’s account. When questioned, Zuzu claimed to be this family member while using the same kind of texting that Zuzu themselves used. Hal and Erin have never met, so this is obviously Zuzu.

Closing Statement

Statement from Felix:

You two are a danger to the idol community as a whole, and to younger generations of idols who might want to get into smaller projects. You hold yourselves with such confidence and respect yet you both don’t show any of it when it comes to your peers. Ray, you started this group while Zuzu was in the hospital; which i barely believe that story now knowing what youve both lied about. I was taken advantage of during the hardest part of my life. I was kicked out and none of you cared. You complained openly to the group about me being late to meetups when I was actively fighting for my freedom with my parents.

You manipulated me and my partner against people you didn’t like. You made me feel like I was less than a person on numerous occasions. I felt like I was an accessory to your outfits. I felt like I wasn't your friend but a therapist; do you understand how it felt during ACEN when you came up to me and immediately said, “I guess someone else is upset with me too?” You’re not the only person with issues. You're not the only person in the world with a voice and feelings. You want to flaunt how open you are with everyone but once someone else has an OUNCE of another emotion you feel as if you need to start the show. Does it make you feel good to make others feel ugly and disgusting in their own skin? Does it make you feel good inside?

Zuzu, as much as my love was abundant and true, you need to face the music. I had given you my all when I couldn't do it for myself. You forced your way into my life in more ways than one. I can't look at Nozomi the same anymore, you’re all I see. I cannot indulge into Starlight Express anymore as it reminds me of your actions. You lied and took advantage of me just like everyone else has my entire life. You took my soul away from what I enjoy- you sucked the whole world out of my body and mind. You're abhorrent and deserve every single thing that happens after this; good or bad. I loved you as a friend and I wanted you to be my mentor as an idol- but you’re just. bland. This is no insult to you, but you need to find who you are instead of pretending to be someone you’re not. You’ve told me countless times that you never wanted to be a part of Lilly Kiss, yet you continue to front as if it’s a justice to your own desires. I wished you the best for everything yet all you did was push me away from what I loved most. I found a passion in this, what have you found?

Ray, I’ve known you since middle school when we were a part of a small friend group, and you have not changed. You say things that make others feel uncomfortable and once you’re confronted about it you also decide to start the show. During ACEN you decided to get nasty about Hal suggesting we go to Walmart for ziplock bags, stating very aggressively “there are no walmarts in chicago.” There are. You just like to make things more difficult for yourself. I don’t believe I've seen you practice without throwing a fit, nor did you ever give good advice about choreography.
